I've been following the work of Victor Zammit, and Michael Roll (http://www.cfpf.org.uk) for quite some time now. I am very grateful for these researchers and for the awesome work they are involved and for making their findings available to the world. I also think it is important to realize the enormous contribution made by Arthur Findlay who paved much of the road for the work that is happening right now. My interest in OBE is that I wanted to know through personal experience if we are indeed more than our physical bodies. I know that this is a delicate area which requires a lot of effort, a very positive mental attitude and faith in myself.  This is more like playing a musical instrument. One has to spend thousands  of hours on a piano before he can play it well. Many a time you become frustrated and want to give up. However, the ones who succeed are the ones who never give up. This applies to anything we do in life.   But playing the piano is not for every one. Sometimes we have to seek to direct our efforts into something else if what we are doing is not getting anywhere.

It was nice of you to answer my question. I think I understand you now and I will check those sites that redcatherine suggested.

Last night I had the weirdest experience. Before going to sleep, I spent over an hour doing my usual OBE exercises. I was raising energy and for the very first time, I felt my energy body responding. I felt motivated by it and continued my relaxation, breathing and raising energy.  At one point, I got up and decided to do a few things before going to bed. Even when I was walking and doing things, I felt the tingling sensation and vibration going on specially on my right foot. I decided to lay in bed and  wait to see if my body was going to explode.  A little later, I am in a sort of a dream like situation where I feel this presence pulling me back and I am battling it to free myself. It was a horrible sensation. Then, after I got myself somehow free, or so I thought, I started to feel a churning sensation in my torso area and felt as though my stomach or the whole torso had a ballon inside. I don't think I know how to describe this sensation but I know it was not pleasant. This somehow broke my relaxation and brought me back to reality. When awake, I felt as though I was out of fuel. My body wasn't as vibrant any more even though I still felt that tinginling sensation on my foot. When I managed to go back to seep, I had a nightmare. Well, this at least proved to me that the raising energy does  do something.  Perhaps anyone has had similar experience and can share some light.

Well, I am disappointed as well in my progress. I have however put a lot of effort into it and haven't had much success. Perhaps if I tell you what I am doing, you might give me some insight.  Every night before I go to bed, I spend about an hour or so, relaxing, raising energy etc. I have some OBE tapes from Robert Monroe which I use along with meditation (attempting to meditate). Then, I go to bed and wake up at 3 in the morning. I lye down on the floor and do about 500 breathing, raise energy again.   Go back to bed and sometimes I feel some energy and or vibration and even have some quick dreams like OBE, but  don't seem to have any control of it. Once in awhile, I feel sort of having an OBE and even feel hands holding my hands in attempt to help me out but I don't seem to go anywhere. I haven't given up and plan on being consistent throughout this year to see if I improve. I have also gotten in the habit of writing my dreams down every morning.  Well, I hope you will give me some hints.

I don't mean to start a new thought here, but you make a very interesting point.  However, the entirely opposite happens in our world. If the majority of us indeed appreciated the Truth, the world today would be entirely different. We would be thousands of years ahead in intellectual development. There would be no religion and people would not be believers but thinkers, etc.

One of the greatest books I have ever read: "The Curse of Ignorance, by Arthur Findlay." This book is broken into two volumes with about 1200 pages each. I also recommend all books by Arthur Findlay; He did extensive reseach on the Etheric World. The book, The Curse of Ignorance is very difficult to find if you live  in the United States  and you can only find it through at NSAC Bookstore (www.nsac.org.) It is mostly available in England.

Arthur Findlay OBE (1883-1964) took seven years to complete this two-volume history of the Christian era, which was first published in 1947. The Curse of Ignorance records past follies and achievements, and acts as a guide for present and future generations. This work is no less than a revolution in thought.

Arthur Findlay writes:

"There are two ways of life, one leading to righteousness, which brings happiness, and the other to unrighteousness, which produces misery. One leads to kindness, mercy and sympathy, the other to hatred and cruelty; one to tolerance and the other to intolerance; one to justice and the other to injustice; one to truth and the other to error; one to peace and concord and the other to quarrelling and war; one to mental development and the other to mental contraction.
One is the Secular way (non religious) and the other is the Theological (religious); one is the Democratic and the other the Despotic; one is the sane and the other the insane."
This passage sums up just how badly the British people have been deceived:

"Such, however, is still [the Church's] influence that this book, which tells the story of the past honestly and fearlessly, will be kept out of our schools and universities by the authorities, and consequently, only in later life will those with enquiring minds discover the truth."

Thanks Mustang for your article: It is well written and truthful.  I started reading Castaneda a while ago, inspired by another book I read from a different author,  and had even bought several of Castaneda books. As I was still reading the first book,  I felt uncomfortable about it. I then decided that I was not going to read his books. I usually donate my used books, but I decided that the best I could do with his books was to throw them in the trash instead of passing them to somebody else.

I am glad that I read your article which basically confirms my suspicions.

I have acquired the Mastering Astral Projection book and use it everyday. I want you (Robert Bruce and Brian Mercer) to know that I admire the work you both have done.  Many years ago, a bought a copy of Astral Dynamics, and after reading it, I decided it was beyond me. I then donated the book to a non profit bookstore. Later on, I felt an urge to read Astral Dynamics again. So, I bought me another copy. After I read it, I felt that it would be great if Robert Bruce had a workbook that would help people like me. The next day, I decided to look at the Astral Pulse web site, and then somewhere I saw an article about the future publication of the Mastering Astral Projection book. I ordered it in advance and then got it when it was released. It was what I was looking for!
I think Robert Bruce has made an enormous contribution to the world with his knowledge and  altruism; and as for my part, I thank him, for I have benefited greatly from his effort.  There are many others, specially moderators who offer their invaluable assistance to whom we should extend our appreciation. I want Frank (Moderator) to know that I enjoy reading his remarks as well. I think he expresses himself  intelligently and constructively and people such as I can only benefit from his efforts.

Get you a copy of Astral Dynamics and read it carefully. Then, if you need additional help, get you a copy of Mastering Astral Projection both from Robert Bruce. You can find these books at Amazon.com.

This is somewhat like learning and mastering a musical instrument. First, it requires desire; then, you must act on it with consistent effort. You must be willing to commit, dedicate enought time, and never give up.  The first notes will be out of tune, frustrations may overwhelm you and once in awhile, you may feel like giving up. Nonetheless, if  you persist, the outcome will be rewarding.

This is about personal effort and self-unfoldment. Go for it!

It is not a matter of wanting.  Every living thing is an Individual Intelligence on its own way to progression.  As to how to accomplish it, one learns it on the way. There are only two ways: Either one progresses or digresses. Research reveals much scientific work done that evidence immortality. Even death in itself is life in progress.

Life would have been a great joke if it ceased to be at the time of death. Why all the effort to excell in life when you only live a miserable short existence? Isn't one purpose of OBE to show you that you are more than your physical body?  And by the way, the continuation of life is a matter of Natural Laws and not of religion.

Based on the Mind Split theory, the body is never left empty and in a projection, the projected  doubles are always reeled back in. In the book FAR JOURNEYS, Robert Monroe recounts that once, as he was returning to his body, he entered another man's body by mistake and seemed to stay in it for a little while trying to leave it. How is that possible?

I have a full size mirror on the entrance hall of my house. Parallel to this mirror there is a stairway leading to the upstairs. Every time I am on my way to upstairs, specially in the evenings, I stop and focus in the  mirror for Aura exercise. Lately I have noticed something different especially when it is a little darker: I see a faint light coloration around the body, especially on top of head; also it seems to project several faint copies of  the torso especially the head. But I have also noticed that I see this light expression on basically anything that I happen to focus on. So, I was wondering if anyone has an idea of what the explanation might be.

You hit the nail on the head. In my personal, humble opinion, religion in general is the reason why there are so much spiritual darkness upon the face of this physical plane. Upon years of research, I came to the conclusion that religion is basically a tool used to manipulate minds, to keep people in obscurity. We are all individual intelligences in our way to progression, and those who are willing to roll up their sleaves to reasearch and explore will find true knowledge. True knowledge comes with personal effort and personal responsibility.  And for those like you who mind science and want to truly explore the non-physical universe, may want to check out the following site. www.gsns.org. This is a serious site for serious people.

Something about OBE.  Anyone who really wants to learn how to successfully do  it, needd to get a copy of Astral Dynamics book by  Robert Bruce and study it and put it to practice. There is no easy way about it. Like any science or art, it takes personal effort and dedication.
