So, have you ever stopped to consider the fact that what you are pursuing is completely and utterly ludicrous?
Harsh as it sounds, What you're getting at is a figment of your anime-fueled, 16-year-old escapist imagination.
You want super powers, and that's fine. Who doesn't? But when you start fiddling around on the internet talking about satanism, nuclear fission, and wanting to beat evil reptile people in hand-to-hand combat with god-like powers, while citing Dragonball Z and Naruto, you are plain nuts.

You've read way too much anime and manga. I enjoy anime quite a bit myself, so I would know, but they're rated for 'suggestive themes' for a reason. Never have I read an anime and believed the powers or events in it to be true. You're not supposed to read fiction and then suddenly believe that you can have all the same powers as the characters in the story. That's why it's fiction.

I suggest you take a step back and think about this rationally for a moment. Honestly believing in teleporting around fighting evil aliens with nuclear powers is, for lack of a better word, poisonous. And don't say, "I know it sounds crazy, but believe me, I know what I'm talking about". Please. On some level, you have to know I'm right. From what I can tell, I was just like you when I was a kid.  :-D

'Stored inside your brain'... you sure?

That is maybe where the misconception lies.
Ah, I knew I would get someone to say that.  :-D
With 'connected consciousness' and what-not, thoughts could be more like 'the cloud' everyone's talking about these days. Data floating like a gas above our heads, with each one of us connected to the same invisible mass of information. Crazy, huh?

I've always wondered about how suggestion really works, or if it really makes any profound impact. It seems like such a subtle thing. Can such a subtle thing like suggestion actually achieve any kind of worthwhile 'result'? It would really depend on the context in which it's used, I guess.

Also, anybody into mind reading / telekinesis? Can you actually do it? My mom can, once in a while, read people's minds if they're thinking of, say, a two-digit number, or a color [just accurately enough so that you know it's not random guessing]. Has anybody ever gotten more significant results? Just wondering if we have any X-Men around AP, I guess.

Welcome to Metaphysics! / Thoughts and memories
August 21, 2012, 00:24:25
hello AP! Lately Ive taken an interest in thoughts and memories; those tricky, intangible things stored inside your brain. So, I want to hear: What does AstralPulse know about thought and memory manipulation? How does one read another person's mind? Can you control the emories of others, for example, with amnesia or memory planting (as in Inception XD)? There are a ton of metaphysical subjects that come up with mnemokenisis (memory manipulation), But I think I'll start off with the most famous one. How do you mind-read, or learn to read minds? Where does one start?

Dont think me a bad seed AP. Im just curious on the subject is all. :p

(disregard spelling errors, typed at night on iPod ;D)

There's always a yin to the yang, here and on the astral. Light and Dark will always balance each other out. Of course, focusing on the light really helps. Going into OBEs with a negative (or even neutral) mindsets can open you up to the not-so-beauteous things on the 'lower levels'. Sex is a primal, low-level urge built into every living being. It's natural, and you sure as hell aren't exclusive to having that problem. XD
So yeah, it's likely just a system of 'moving up', from the basic levels to the higher, brighter planes. Sounds like an adventure to me, anyways.  :-D

Good luck in all you do! Get out there and show those shoddy dreams who's boss!

I've talked to myself since, well... forever. Just like any other person. Perhaps a bit more often, since I'm so introverted.  :-D

An interesting observation though. I've never been one for much meditation, but I remember this one time I sat in the shower and did some light meditation for not even ten minutes. Ever since then, I have a new kind of voice. It's quite faint, and very calm, and 'speaks' pretty much only when I think of philosophical matters. It always seems to come up with clever metaphors and drawn-out expressions that my everyday mode of thinking would never be able to smoothly think through like that. I call it my 'philosophy voice'. XD

It's just a different 'mode' of thinking, really. It's me that's still thinking stuff up, it just 'sounds' a bit different. That bit of spiritual focus really did the trick, though.

The whole matter of different voices and talking to yourself is a bit of a concern to me, to be honest. I find myself worrying that if I focus too much on all of these different 'voices' and 'modes' I think with, coupled with my interest in Spirit Guides (which talk to you in your head and your dreams), when do you draw the line between a fascinating psychological phenomenon / Spiritual connection, and downright paranoid schizophrenia? Both are just you talking to yourself and assuming different inner aliases. What is the difference? I feel that if I try too hard to delve into the mechanics of awareness, consciousness, spirits that communicate in your subconscious / conscious mind, etc etc etc, I would eventually be unable to differentiate myself from a stark raving lunatic. Silly, I know, but it seems that all of these different phenomenon just end up pointing to a mental patient with three personalities and a couple of spirits that talk to him in his head.

Summary: as much as consciousness, subconsciousness, Spirit Guides, and OBEs interest me, where does one draw the line between communing with spirits and having multiple bodies, and paranoia / schizophrenia / bipolar disorder? Doesn't hearing voices in your head that aren't yours make you schizophrenic? How does one ever tell the difference if you ever come into contact with other beings that have no way to prove them selves as an entity beyond your own subconscious mind? What do you think? Am I crazy already? XD

I think I go through the same commonly, but rather it feels like my hands are upside-down from the position they're in when it happens. Like my wrists turned a 180, hehe. It may be the same symptom, perhaps I'll focus on it more the next time it happens.  8-)

You won't ruin your life if you try to AP. If you concentrate on light and happiness, you'll recieve just that. If you just relax and forget about all the bad, negative thoughts, you won't have to worry. Good luck!

Well, small kitten wearing a frog hat, I too have noticed this before.

I feel almost as if that inhale & hold causes a feeling of "suspense", like in movies, when the character gasps and holds their breath when something dangerous is around the corner. Not really scary at all, though. It always makes me think of 'suspense' though. I just stop thinking, like my brain just waits for what's next. Huh.  :-D

Hello all. This happened to me a few weeks ago, and I've been meaning to post it.

I've been exploring OBE's for a few months now, but I've never had an OBE [I never really focus too much lol]. On this one particular night, after browsing AstralPulse, I had a dream in which I was floating around my room. There wasn't much to see visually, and I had zero control over my movements for most of it, just haphazardly drifting to and from one wall to the other. at one point, I thought "go through the ceiling", and my body started rising in the middle of my room, but I got caught on the cieling and just kind of bounced like a helium balloon.

That's pretty much it. This was, to me, clearly a dream. It felt just like any other dream; the only difference was subject matter. I, unfortunately, never thought to remind myself that it was a dream. It all panned out subconsciously like a normal dream, but it was "a dream about astral projection". Huh.

I feel like I need to get better at communicating with myself while sleeping / almost asleep. If I was, the whole thing might have ended up being lucid.

So, people: Thoughts, explanations, similar events, etc. Thank you!

Well, with another leap day behind us, I thought that it would be fun to bring this topic up.
The Mayan calendar was created before the advent of the leap-year calendar. Because the Mayan calendar hasn't used any Leap Days, according to the Mayan calendar, December 21st 2012 actually happened seven months ago.

What do you think about that? Believers? Non-believers?
In my opinion, there's change around the corner, but it has nothing to do with Mayans or Armageddon or huge meteors or aliens. :p

This is the same basic question that I've had since I started researching Astral Projection and the like. Are your astral experiences based in a holographic universe of your mind's design, with all the interaction between you and your environment being subconscious and self-contained? Or, when you astral project, do you move your consciousness not inwards, but upwards, into a literal different plane of existence that contains other people and an environment that is not produced by your subconscious mind?

What are the differences between the two? And if astral experiences are made on one of these two levels, in a space where reality is changed so easily, how can you tell?

Thought I'd stop by and add to the list of congats. I've noticed a lack of these positive "woo-hoo!" kinds of posts lately. Hope your luck continues :)

The same situation occurs to me pretty much every time I attempt a projection. I'll be silent and still, when I have some kind of  increase in energy. Sometimes, it feels downright wonderful, and I just end up laying there in this really happy, energized state. The energy is sometimes brougt about by a sudden thought or mental image, and those ones are usually stronger. However, no matter what way the energy comes about, it always just ends up fading away, and then I have really rotten concentration for the rest of the night because I'm too focused on bringing the feeling back.

It seems to me that this energy feeling is the very start of the seperation process, since I never have prior symptoms. So, what to do with this energy? Focusing on it always just seems to make it leave faster; should I do the classical "ignore all signs" approach?

(sorry for the long Q in your thread Ao1, it just seemed like a good follow-up situation :p)

this sort of thing really interests me. The progression from spirituality to science, from myth to fact. For hundreds and hundreds of years, the Earth was flat. It was the center of the universe for even longer. And one day, perhaps very soon, this spiritual notion of a higher, layered existance will be science. Solid fact. Kids will learn about it in high school the way we learn about our heliocentric universe today. This is a wonderful tme to be alive . <3

all rambling aside, thanks for the link. very cool.

Thank you all for the warm welcome!

I'll get something cool to post in a bit, don't worry. >B)

Hello to you all! I am Linemile, and I'm quite new to the scene of astral travel. I've only just recently taken an interest (I started off right around New Year's), and I've been lurking around the Internet for information since then, both here and on some other forums. I joined here mainly to feel closer and more connected to other astral enthusiasts, get some more interactive advice, and maybe one day I'll start sharing my own experiences here (I really hope).

Besides that, I come from quite the spiritual family, though we don't mention it much at all. I've always had a huge imagination; it's probably my most redeeming quality.
With that said, the astral plane seems like a haven to me. In the astral, I hope to find muse to fuel my love of art and music, and to explore the concept of "higher consciousness". A journey of self-discovery, but all in my head, if you will.

... wow, that was a serious wall of text, :x

In closing, I hope to find insight on this forum, and with any luck, Ill be having my first projection any day now, a nigut which I highly look forward to! Later~
