Hello. I'm relatively new to the whole concept of meditation, chakra's, auras, and spiritual/psychic energies. A while ago, about a year ago, I started to attempt meditation. When I followed instructions I found on the internet, they had told me to imagine a star filled sky. Then, Focus on the star that most grabs your attention. However, when I tried, I wasn't able to maintain focus, control. The sky would start spinning, and I would not be able to go any farther with it. Then, several days later, I attempted to just relax myself, in an alert, yet tensionless posture. I started seeing unusual things.
The image that sticks with me the most was of an almost metallic, giant urn that was black and purple. It had holes in it and I could see inside of it. Inside, was a swirling, towering collumn of Fire. The fire was also alternating black and purple.
When I opened my eyes, I noticed a swirling black mass in front of me. It had inside of it....it looked like the reflection of light in a pool. Yet this was in a large shadow. I felt it gently hold my hand.
I am not sure what I did, but I have not been able to reproduce those circumstances, nor those results. I would love any input as to what my problems were, what happened to me, and what I should do. I would also like it if someone could show me where I could learn to properly meditate.

Thank you.

I don't have much (or really any) money right now, but I'm extremely curious about energy raising and energy channeling.  I would also like some information on techniques involving Chakras.

    Thank you.

quote:
Hi,

I don't think there is a male or female angle on this topic. I think that both men and women look for the same thing. I am talking here about looking for a long term relationship.

I think the old idea of treating the person the way you would want to be dealt with is the central idea. Whether you are male or female you want to be appreciated for who you are individually and what you bring into the relationship. I think you want to know that this person will stand by you when you are sick or in a bad way. That they can cling off your body, mind and spirit in the good times and the bad, which is part of the vows that most couples marrying take. That they will be slow to being angry and judging you and quick to forgive. That there is a sense that the two of you are on a life journey together where there is trust and safety within that relationship.

My mum came to Australia in the 60s to marry my dad without ever having met him. She just had a photo and knew that he came from a respectable family. They are still married 45 years later and eventhough they still fight like Frank and Marie from Everybody Loves Raymond, you also know they would be lost without each other. Their love is not a romantic love, where looks, intellect or perfection count. Its based on the idea of this is 'my person' as the Greeks say. A sense of identifying with and belonging to someone, where the successes and failures of life are faced as a team and where you are judged as a team.

Few relationships are like that now because everyone has a list of what they are looking for. Throw away the list and form a relationship with a real person, warts and all.

Thanx. That was really deep. That you have such insight tells me that you are obviously a very mature individual. I think all of us would benefit from what you said...If we all take it to heart.
I totally agree with you. It doesn't really matter if a person meets 'Your Standard' if they are a person of quality. I know it sounds as if I'm contradicting myself, but I really have no other way to describe it. When you are with the right person, you just know.
And it doesn't matter if they're funny, smart, talented, beautiful, or able to perform household chores. Really, when you think about it, these are all things that our society has pushed on us as the gold standard, the way all people should be judged. It's really sad that we aren't able to see past all of these ideals, to really see people for the unique person they really are.
I hope that I can stop myself the next time I try to 'classify' or put them up against some ideal standard that I've set for myself.
I'm sorry If I rambled on a bit, It just happens with me sometimes.[:)] Thank you for hearing me out and thank you atalanta for point these things out.

Greetings all ye wayward travelers and seekers of self.

Headstrong by Trapt

Circling your, circling your, circling your head,
Contemplating everything you ever said
Now I see the truth, I got doubt
A different motive in your eyes and now I'm out
See you later
I see your fantasy, You want to make it a reality paved in gold
See inside, Inside of our heads (yeah)
Well now that's over
I see your motives inside, decisions to hide

[Chorus:]
Back off I'll take you on
Headstrong to take on anyone
I know that you are wrong
Headstrong we're Headstrong
Back off I'll take you on
Headstrong to take on anyone
I know that you are wrong and this is not where you belong
I can't give everything away
I won't give everything away

[Verse 2:]
Conclusions manifest, your first impressions got to be your very best
I see you're full of excrement, and that's alright
That's how you play, I guess you'll get through every night
Well now that's over
I see your fantasy, you want to make it a reality paved in gold
See inside, inside of our heads (yeah) Well now that's over
I see your motives inside, decisions to hide

[Chorus]

[Verse 3:]
I know, I know all about [x3]
I know, I know all about your motives inside, and your decision to hide

[Chorus]

and Won't Back Down by Fuel

YEAH!!! [x2]

I know what darkness means
(and the void you learned from me)
The isolation steams
(So I think it wants to bleed)
The echoes in my brain
(All the things you said to me)
You took my everything
Now I'm coming for you!

[Chorus:]
I won't back down
I will not bow
I've come to bring you hell
I can't forget
Things you did
I've come to bring you hell

The shadows that you see
(In the places that you sleep)
Are memories of me
(Better pray your soul to keep)
The truth behind your eyes
(You know the thing you never see)
Your darkest little lies
I'm coming for you!

[Chorus]

All the scars that never heal
All the wounds that will not seal
I will not forget the day
These memories never fall

[Chorus]

I've come to bring you hell
(I've come to bring you hell) [x4]

Myself....Well, I'd have to say that my Ideal woman is funny, smart, beautiful, talented, able to cook, have a great personality and is willing to compromise.[:I] [8)]

However, since I have such lofty Ideals, I seldom stick to them, since I don't believe that I match up to any woman's Ideals either. So, I must say that, while I look for these things, any one of them will do (even though if she is beautiful, she must have a good personality, because I am not willing to have a relationship with someone who is beautiful, but shallow and caustic).[:)]

Thanks. I looked it up and have started the exercises. I seem to be having some trouble. I've been able to, with great difficulty, move my body awareness from my knee to my toes, and back all the way to my hips, but am having extreme difficulty moving any farther up. Does anyone have any advice as to what I should do?
Before we start, I must let you know that I'm also having some trouble sensing my energies in the first place. The only thing that has remained a constant most of my life is that my crown chakra seems to be always active (to some degree). I believe this because I can always feel it (that is, if I'm right as to what it is that I am feeling).
I also had a deja vu/premonition a half an hour before I started the exercise.
