Welcome to Astral Chat! / For Men

Of course not~  if you're human, you've got one.  The best thing to strive for is to leave it at the door.  Obviously, easier said than executed.  But whenever possible, all benefit.

Sounds Great to me!  People underestimate how powerful intention can be to effect oneself.  One day in school, I turned to a classmate & said, "You know...I'm over this.  I don't want to do this anymore. (this was post-graduate--NOT highschool.) I just want to go back into my art."  Well, a week later, I manifested a mysterious neck injury where I couldn't feel my hand...& was literally in bed for 1 year.  I quit that program, now I'm working in an art studio.  It obviously would have been easier, far less painful & way less expensive to just follow my heart, but apparently, I wasn't brave enough to do it, so my sub-conscious did it for me.

...I'm not sure how it works or why; it just seems like a Universal Law.  I think it's a wisdom-thing; when ego gives way, it just becomes Truth.  That ego will get ya, though, and it takes putting it down to see that others have, too.  Until that happens, everything looks and sounds like an attack.

Welcome to Metaphysics! / Aura

You can't actually make someone see your aura; it's just there, like your shadow, or your nose.  They have to allow themselves to see it.
As far as I understand, either one just "has" the ability naturally to see one, or they develop it, like a muscle.  I saw one, once, "by accident", trying to see someone's guides that were standing in the room.  It was dimly lit, and they told me to concentrate on the corner of the room.  I couldn't see them, and when she sat up to show me, all of a sudden, she had this bright shock of orange illuminating her whole body.  It was so bright, it cast a shadow.  I thought it was so cool, and she just said, "yeah, everybody says I'm orange."  It was no big deal to her, since she did it all the time, but for me, it was great.  I haven't seen one since.  Now I'm going to try to open up that skill so I can see them whenever I want, which is a good one to have; you can see if someone's sick, if they're lying, or mean you harm.  Just another tool to use.

I completely agree that only we are responsible for our own happiness, emotions, et al.  No one really can make us sad, happy, angry, etc., and it is neither healthy, productive, nor mature to look to another to "complete" you.  But, my personal feeling--only mine-- is that it's the man's job to please the woman- first.  As soon as he Gets that, providing, like I said, he's with a "good" woman, he will get back At Least what he gave, and all is goood.  Too many men let thier short-sighted egos get in the way of fully understanding this, and in that, neither one will ever Really get what they want.  (providing it is a healthy thing they want.)

Since we have so much male attention here, I would like to impart a little female wisdom that proves to be inVALuable for the man who takes it to heart:  Make the woman happy.  At all times.  If she is a good one (IF), she will be so happy & grateful, that she gives back twice as much.  You should never want for anything if you please her right.  (Not just in the bedroom.)[;)][;)]

Welcome to Astral Chat! / meditation methods
April 04, 2004, 20:36:27

As far a meditation, you've got to start somewhere.  "Blanking your mind", I've found, is a goal, not a vehicle to start with.
I'm very visual, and when I get out of practice, my mind goes all over the place, so I've used this technique: since I am visual, and I know that SOMEthing's going to occupy my mind, I make it something of my conscious choosing.  Like a blank movie screen.  I know what that looks like, it's not difficult to call it up, and then, whatever pops up on it, pops up.  May not work for you...but this helps me.  Good luck!

Woops.  Sorry 'bout that.  Very sensitive keyboard.

A few years ago, I went through a period where I was very repressed.  Consequently, everything got repressed, including my hair growth.  A friend once told me she didn't even believe my hair grew because she'd never seen it change the whole time she knew me.  I asked my hair dresser & she said that's just how my hair is.  Well, I knew she was wrong.
So, every day, about three x a day, I would focus energy on my hair.  As I massaged my head, I would say, " I LOVE my hair!  My hair is shiny, long, resiliant, strong...fast-growing.  It's beautiful, smoothe, swingy, straight, and soft.  I LOVE my hair!"
I did this for about four months straight.  Now, it's to the middle of my back.  Just goes to show what you can do when you focus energy.  Unless it's changing someone else's will, you can do just about anything.  I started on my weight, and have lost 9 pounds so far.  After that goal, I'm going to try the colour of my eyes.  And they say it can't be done!
