Oh, and as for the pre-destined question, I do think that it is something that we write into our life contract before we come into the physical plane, yes![8D]

Samsara,

Please don't get confused, I don't think that it is as harder task as it sounds.  I think that the key when you get started is to read up on all the different types of healing you can get your hands on and just see if it sounds like something you want to find out more about.  It isn't a matter of studying every type of healing[;)], just learn a little about several different types and see where that takes you.

My sister is a healer - she is a nurse. (medical profession is something to be considered too).  There is also Reiki, hands on healing, Shiatsu massage, crystal healing, even counseling is a form of healing.  These are just a few ideas to get you started.

Oh, and if hearing it from your own internal dialogue makes you wonder if it's just all in your head (don't worry, I question too, it's only normal), why not visit a medium in your area and see if they pick up on it too??[:)]

Hope that this helps!

In my experience Lighthouse is right.  Just talk to them.  Only, they generally don't just stand there and speak back to you like a human might (unless maybe you are clairaudient??).  Listen for the answers telepathically.  Do you have any medium friends who might be able to help you out??

Yes, I have come to similar conclusions myself.  Developing/working with your heart chakra does lead to a better understanding and connection with the feelings of those around you (therefore a great center to develop for empaths)as well as your own feelings.  It can help you work out why you feel the way you do about certain things in your life, if worked with on a deep level.

Hi Samsara,

In answer to your question, yes, I've been told by several different mediums that I am a healer.  I had already been interested in things like hands on healing, and I guess being told kind of spurred me on to look at different kinds of healing and what I might be good at.

Am pleased to say that I have found I AM rather good at it to[:I]

What about yourself?  What made you ask the question?

This sounds like you guys need some grounding!  Eat a hearty meal (bread, meat, vegies) and drink plenty.  It would be a good idea to do a tree exercise.  Close your eyes and imagine that you are a big, sturdy tree.  Then focus on the roots of you tree.  See them extend deep down into the earth.  Focus on how rooted to the earth you are and how grounded you feel.

I must ask, what your intensions where when rubbing the brow - was it to open the third eye?  Did you both do this?  Opening the chakra too quickly can have effects like this on the physical body, as it is not ready for it.  Opening chakras slowly is the best idea.

Hope that this helps some.  Bright blessings.

Welcome to Metaphysics! / tarot accuracy

Hi All,

I would like to agree with the statement that Tarot cards are only as good as the reader.  Tarot is a special tool available, but does not suit all mediums.  Tarot have an energy all of thier own, and can provide a link between the seekers subconscious and the universal consciousness.  It is through this link that the cards fall where they need to fall.  Therefore there is no coincidences in Tarot.  However, when going to a reader who has a strong connection to that universal consciousness, you will get much more information and feelings than someone who just knows the meanings of each card.  Still someone of the latter skill, can still give you accurate information, just very basic.

"The moment" also plays an important role in tarot reading.  Everything in life is in a constant state of change, and it is impossible for the cards to read every possible outcome.  Instead, they tend to be like a mirror and reflect back to the reader any areas that are particularly on the mind or needing attention.  They should be used as a guide or tool only, and not something with which to design your life on.

In saying that, I emphasis that it is a tool - and any good medium that can use tarot cards effectively can probably pick up similar messages without the use of the cards.  Some mediums feel more comfortable with "a prop" to guide them i guess.

Hi Kerri,

Would love to help you out with some advise here!  Australia is a wonderful place to come and visit.  Can't comment on New Zealand, as I've never been.  I guess it depends on the type of weather you like, but I like the Spring to Summer months, probably Nov - Feb?  I do tend to like the warm weather though!  I don't know about anyone else, but I've been finding the weather rather unpredictable.  With Summer seeming more like Spring (and sometimes like Winter[:(]) etc.

As for where to visit, I guess that depends on what you like doing?  Tasmania is a beautiful spot - so much to see, gorgeous landscapes, history, etc.

Hi all,

I also agree with noleaf.  I don't believe that we continually reincarnate straight away - meaning once 'dead' go and grab another body!  I think that imbetween we do things like be guides/teachers for other incarnated souls and learn other lessons in the astral realm.

I also believe that time is not exactly how we percieve it.  Have you ever considered that all lives are actually being lived at the same time, and that we only see the other lives we've lived (or currently liveing) as being 'past' lives because of our perception of time?  It's a big one to get your mind around - but it all comes back to our narrow minded veiw here on the physical plane.

Welcome to Astral Chat! / help, any ideas????
April 16, 2004, 05:13:19
Hi Tomc,

This sounds exactly like several experiences that my nan relayed to me.  We decided that it certainly couldn't be a dream - very much all too real.  Nan could feel cold and smell smells just as if in normal waking life, and this sounds the same as what you descibe.  It was our assumption that she had an OBE. We put down how clear everything was to how in tune she was.  She also did this without trying, somtimes it seemed to be triggered by going to sleep thinking about a certain place.  Perhaps this is something that you too are a natural at??[^]
