I made this thread in order to see who would like or dislike getting this forum "remodeled" with a different interface.  This forum is a great place and I think it could benefit from a facelift.  I do bear in mind that it may be too hard or time consuming to change to another forum format, and understand if people do not want it changed.

I have done a little research, and found what look to be some more "appealing" forums.  

I found forum software known as vbulletin (www.vbulletin.com) that looks nice.  It does cost some money though.  

As a more realistic (and free) alternative, there's phpbb (www.phpbb.com) that looks nice as well.  There also are instructions on converting to the forum formats:

I'd like to know how many other forum members support or dislike this proposal, and other ideas pertaining to a "forum upgrade", too.

I am using Firefox (alternative to Internet Explorer) to browse the internet.  When I goto this forum, I see the astral pulse header, then a  bunch of blank lines and the bold forum word in the center.  If i scroll down about a page long, I get the rest of the forum, which looks normal.

Hello all!  I just registered at this forum.  I come here regularly and read much of the invaluable information that is available here.  You could say I'm a newbie with this AP stuff, I have only gotten into it in the recent months.  I have a copy of Robert Bruces Astral Dynamics (a great book). Like a few of the people here, I have yet to have a successful projection.  I can get to a thoroughly relaxed state of mind and not really feel my body, I do the energy raising techniques, and try some of the projection techniques I've read about, but I haven't gotten out yet.  I feel like I'm really close, get all these strange and unique sensations, which get me excited and wanting to keep on trying to see what new things may happen.  I hope sometime soon I will be able to have a successful projection.  So are there any new tips out there that can help push one past the borderline into the astral?

Occasionally, when i'm relaxing, I "nod off" in my thoughts for a couple seconds, then regain awareness of myself in my bed, and i recall an image of an unknown place very well, as if i was just there.  What would this classify as?
Memory impressions? Vivid images?

I was mainly referring to the aesthetics.  The forum speed is fine as is.

I guess if the admin doesn't want to change the board, it ain't gonna.  Thanks anyway.  []

No offense but, sounds almost like: "Hey, I'm new here, and this forum looks old, slow and ugly; who wants the admin to take on his free time to switch to my favorite forum...?"

That wasn't my intention to sound snobby, and I see how you could interpret what I write that way.  I very much appreciate all that he has put into this forum.  I am suggesting an update on this forum, so it runs faster and is a bit more appealing, all for the benefit of its members.  I made this thread to see who thinks that is a good idea.       I never had the intention of having the admin do it, but rather make it a joint-effort by members of the forum.  I would be willing to donate my time and effort for this, but, as you stated, I'm new here,  and since I don't have the "credibility" of being a long term board member, I might seem out of place.  That is why I posted this message, to see if anyone else feels that this board could benefit from an upgrade, which, apparently, some do.

there are many posts on these forums about it.  I have had some interesting experiences while listening to a few of the presets.

Maybe talking about people not wanting to take the time to transfer the information over to a new format, unless they had the *cough* money incentive to do it.  Hopefully changing the forum layout gets some support, although not to many people see it here buried in the bottom forum. [}:)]

If the forum was backed up, and a conversion tool is used to move the usernames and posts to a new format (that doesn't do anything to change the snitz forum) I think it may work.  I posted the link on my first message.

I have had that feeling a few times before, where the black you see with closed eyes does get larger and seems to wrap around your entire vision field, encasing you, so to speak.  I haven't gotten a separation, though.

When I get the sensation of falling, I am visualizing me being a few feet above my physical body.  I have not had any real success with the rope technique, although I do feel a "stress" to pull out of my body (nothing more) when I try that visualization.  During the floating/falling sensations I had I DID try the rope technique, but the feelings ceased, like i said, after about 15 seconds, and I felt re-oriented in my physical body.

Another non-related, no biggie question:

Has there ever been discussion on changing the forum layout?  There are some forums that seem to have a very good ergonomic and clean interface (like some vbulletin boards ive been to).  Has this idea been brought up before?  Is that practical, or would it be too difficult and time consuming?

If i change my sleep pattern, I do get some interesting different results.  Now if I could just discipline myself to go to bed at a decent hour and wake up to my alarm more often!

I get twitches while I go into a trance sometimes, too.  I just ignore it.  When I can get a good trance going, I get an energy surge all over my body and my black vision behind my eyes turns white and I see a bunch  of cool "doodles", for lack of a better word.  When I am doing very well, I can feel myself disorient, and I feel to be falling down toward my physical body from a few feet above it over and over again, in like a loop, for like 15 seconds.  Is that close?
