Welcome to Dreams! / Half Lucid?
August 08, 2004, 10:32:50
Okay, I just had a "lucid" dream about a half an hour ago. I had been riding my bike in a real-life country setting about 10 miles away from my real house and then suddenly the road turned into one that neighbors my own house which is in the city. I stop in front of my house to ponder what is going on and come to the conclusion that I am dreaming. I can suddenly control my movements but I cannot change anything else and it still doesn't feel as vivid as real life. I try to make a spoon fly to me but that doesn't work. I then do my reality checks to try to give me control and make things clearer but they don't work!? I have RC written on my hand and I keep looking at it but ot never changes. I also try closing my eye and looking at my nose but I can still see it. I don't remember if I tried pinching my nose and trying to breathe. A kid from work then came to me in the dream and starting asking me all about LD's and I was explaining them to him in the dream. So, how come I didn't have control, and how come it wasn't extremely vivid? Are my reality checks faulty? Thanks........

I'm disappointed at the moment. I remember doing a reality check, and looking at my hand and seeing the letters RC in a dream last night. Know what though? No lucidity! Comments?

Hi, I'm a N3wB obviously, but I'm just curious as to what people interested in metaphysics do for a living.

Yes, this was my second lucid dream, although my first was only for a few seconds a number of months ago. I'll try the increase lucidity thing next time. At some point I did slip back into normal dreaming, how can I avoid this? I didn't even notice the transition at the time for some reason.

I just finished high school and have four years of college ahead of me as an english major. Right now, I work at a boring grocery store. In the future, I think I'm going to be freelance writer, maybe. All I know is that after college I don't want to get a "real" job; maybe I'll go on a pilgrimmage!

It was pretty easy for me to develop dream recall. Every morning I woke up I just spent the whole morning (in the back of my mind) searching for a fragment. I usually found something within the first fifteen minutes. Tell her to reveiw the things she did the day before, where she went, and who she saw. When thinking of a good friend, you might suddenly remember a fragment of a dream that that friend was in. I have good recall now, although the ability has somewhat weakened recently. I used to remember at least 3 dreams a night, now it's at least one.

It will no doubt take some time to build the discipline and ability to be lucid, but I think this is a sign that things are definitely in process - so keep trying.  :)

Things have been in "process" for a year already and I'm getting pretty tired of it. I've had only one LD and I lost it immediately.

Hey Auraoflight [:D]

I think the question should be what do YOU think it meant?  Were you happy, sad, angry?..etc.  Was there anyone else there?  Where were you?  You get the idea..[:P]  If you start a journal that will help you start understanding the symbols you see in your dreams.

Well, I remember two dreams from last night but the RC check thing was just a tiny fragment and I don't remember any other details from that one. I do keep a journal, by the way. I have no idea what it means.

Uh... woah.. o.O.. No offense to your nationality, but where in the world is that string of consonants? I'm assuming the mid-east, but I've never heard of a Kyrgyzstan before.

Haha, I actually live in the USA. I just put that country because that's my habit on every message board, for some reason.......
