thank you for all the advice every one.

the reason I like the before bed method is because it easier to just remain conscious, and more likely to remember it happened, I am just wondering if it is possible to be to awake, after the body is asleep when making the attempt to exit? from most of what I have read at least half of the time the exit is a conscious attempt. I sleep so deeply that I rarely  wake up in the night. I tried the wbtb thing with the timers for a long time and once I fall asleep Im just OUT, no control. that is why I was so worried about the remembering part.

thank you so much for your answers. that is definitely a relief to know, now I just have to get out. how many of you project from a conscious starting point. meaning you are awake you lay down still the body for a while and than project. I have a float tank and I make my AP attempts at night before I go to bed, at 11pm and than float for about 3hrs. the tank allows you to loose the body quite quickly about 15min and then it seems your left with just your mind. and at this point is when I feel it is time to project but sense I have been unsuccessful so far I must be missing a step or more.

one more thing I suck at visualizations.

how does one get around this.

I saw an old topic on this and it is a topic of concern for me after listening to other masters of this field like robert bruce and william bullman both of these people have material for sale on how to AP and they both state that getting out is not the hard part but remembering it is.

if this is the case, after spending a fare amount of time on this site I am not getting that vib at all.
is that because everyone here is projecting a different way then they are teaching to do it. that being the wild approch.
which is the way I am going about it and that is doing it at night or in a tired state where one is ready to fall asleep there for the body/mind is naturally ready for this shifting state of consciousness. and the key is to hold onto the conscious mind part and let the body fall asleep.

so in doing it this way. as long as one stays awake through the whole process is it easy to remember your AP?

another good video that is on you tube that covers this info is the source field investigations look for the 15+ hr audio book with the same name this info really shows how and what the ancients knew and how it all fits together with astral projection. I just use those download sites and download the videos and then listen to them when I drive. alot better for the mind than the same old music or more news about corrupt politicians, bonking over the rest of us.

I have recently come across some info that explains this topic very well it is on you tube. do a search for spirit science and find the 1-20 part video it is about 5+ hours long lots of good stuff that most people have never thought about altogether and it really puts astral projection in perspective for those that dont know the back story of what makes the whole thing work and that the ancients used to do this all the time and it is something that religion has been very good at cleansing it out of the popular consciousness. this is realy something that should be taught at church but they dont want everyone to know that everyone can talk to god directly. because they would loose there power over everyone and become irrelevant. this is any area I have been spending a lot of time looking into and the info I am finding is amazing and mind blowing. there are lots of slitly different views on this info.

I think I saw you on the salt cube forum do you know what happened to that place it seems like no one uses it any more. if it was not that one then another one I have been eveywhere I can find insearch of the info it will take to get me out of the body. or was it the astral pulse forum. cant remember.

if you want to see some other pic of my tank go to the wefloat forum and look at my profile it has alot of pics of the whole construction process. this forum is not really for astral projection type info though. more like running a float center. but some of these people might be able to help you out with other tank related questions. there is also another forum floattalk on yahoo groups. also more tank related info.

now as for adding the salt in the tank I used a hose, i took off the shower head and connected it directly to the pipe. I used only hot water and put in about 200lbs of salt in and let the water melt that much first. you need to just keep stiring it around to speed it up I just got in and use my feet and just kept spreading it around. this is one thing I have been told by others is that when you are using a waterbed heater which i think all tanks use you can not let the salt just set in a pile on the bottom because it insulates the heater from the water and it puts a lot of stress on  the heater and will cause it to over heat and burnout. my tank is heated with a radiant hotwater concrete slab under the liner. that is connected to my solar hydronic system. and I did find that just letting the salt set in a pile on the bottom prevented the tank from heating up. it took me about 4 hours to fill and break down all the salt partly because I had to wait for the hotwater heater to replenish the hot water because cold water does not melt the salt nearly as fast. so if you are tired of sloshing it around just make sure it is not piled up on the heater and you should not have an issue with damaging the heater. so just remember where the heater is when you put it all together. I actually finished the last 200lbs the next day and even then I still had a pile of salt on the bottom but once the salt is all the way go it should heat up quickly. mine heats up slower due to the type of heater but is very efficient.

another thing that you will find is that the salt will cool down the water very fast and this is some kind of chemical reaction. stick your hand into a pile of salt on the bottom that is under the water and squish the salt in your hand it feels pretty cool and is quite cold. but once the salt is dissolved completely it will not have this cooling effect. my set up is 198 gal. and I put in about 870 lbs. I would like to know what your directions have to say about how much you are supposed to add. did yours come with a hygrometer. and what level does it say to use. what brand of tank did you go with?

now that I see where you live that phone call might be out of the question. didnt think you might be outside the US. the state where I live there are no float centers and the closest place would be several hundred miles away that is why I just built my own. I did not even float before I floated in my own tank. check out my profile pic.  I even built a shower that is 3 feet from the tank door just to keep the salt mess to a minimum.

I am up to my 27 float and I float on average of about 2.5 hrs. I floated last night and feel I get to the zone quickly but am having trouble with exit. the way I look at this is this is taking me forever and along the way I should be getting a good learn on the full lead up to the phasing process that by the time I do get out hopfully I will have learned all the steps well enough that, once I do get out it will be easily repeatable on demand from their on. a few of the big problems that I run up against is I get this overwhelming vibrational sensation in my left leg that sometimes gets so bad that I end up moving and then I have to start over. but that is one good thing about the tank is starting over does not take to long to get back to where you were. I would say about 5-10 min. the other is I really suck at visualization.  the one thing that I feel that helps me get to the zone the quickest is to just focus on long slooooow even breathing. by doing this it gives the mind something to focus on without allowing the mind to just run amuck and get of track and this is how I start it gets me past all the body problems that pop up like the swallowing need the clearing the throat issue I get alot, itches. another cool thing I have noticed in the tank the falling sensation produces a little jerk of the body that produces a disruption of the water and you can feel it. and this is when I know I am getting close. there are ather times when I feel like I am in the zone all the way when I feel the water just start waving like something else just moved in the tank and from all I can tell it was not me this does not happen to often. I think its kinda cool and wierd at the same time because to me I think its produced by possibly geting out a little and then snapping back in and the sudden entry is causing the whole body to sink into the water all at once just enough to make ripples that can be felt. the reason I think it is this is because it happens only about 10-20 min after the last falling twitch.

finally another member that is a floater!!!!!!!!! I built a float tank and have been using it for about a month now and I must say that it is sooo easy to go into a relaxed state where the body dissolves completely. very coooool. I feel I am now at the point of standing in the doorway yet I cant find it. I feel that once I get this exit part down, with the use of the tank it will be an almost on demand obe situation. have you projected out of the tank yet? how many times have you floated so far?

I had a great float last night about 2.5 hr. I finally got past the vibrations after about an hr and I feel I did this by trying to pull the vibration up to my head because it has always been the strongest in my left leg. Kinda odd, anyway I played with that for a while and did not really noticed when it stopped for some time.then I started to send my focus to my third eye and used some meditation on that to activate it and while I was doing that I started to hear and feel what I think is the rushing noise that I have read about. It was not very loud but was clearly present, (I do wear earplugs in the tank to keep the salt out of my ears and this clearly changes sound and in away magnifies the sound of your own blood flow in a way.) I was able to play with that too it was like I could make it continue as long as I wanted it to it was like I was causing it by sending my thoughts to my third eye. The more I focused on it the more present it got. At this time I attemped top project with a few technics that I could remember, was unsuccessful. it felt like my body was gone very cooool it was like I was floating in a thick liquid by far the best float yet.

this is float #5

I have been attempting to have an OBE for awhile now with no success. and I came a cross the use of a float tank so I decided to build my own. it took me about 4 months to build one but it is finished now and have floated 5 times now. the first one was all about getting the bugs worked out and the next 2 were frought with other distractions. to cold need of neck pillow, and other issues but last night I had a good float with little distraction the neck pillow issue is still not perfect but still working on that on to get it just right. I floated for about 3 hrs I wish my urge to swallow would subside because it brakes the flow of stillness. I fill now that the biggest meditative issue that I am up against now is the vibration sensation that takes over my body and just stays there and it almost becomes painfull that it in itself becomes a huge uncomfortableness that makes me want to move to stop the sensation. the time went by quite quickly though I would have floated longer but I set the filter to turn on at 2 am just for that reason. so I can at least get out and still get enough sleep. I would like some Ideas to get past the vibration sensation though because it is really distracting I had the same problem when I was tring to OBE from lying on the bed using binaurl beats I felt like I could get to the body asleep part and got the vibrations but could never get past those. and I usually fell asleep on the bed.
