Welcome to Dreams! / Reading in Dreams

So everywhere I've read it says that when you focus on a book, newspaper, numbers on a clock, etc. they will start to disolve or change form or something similar. This has been true since I started lucid dreaming and OBEing. I had used reality checks before with reading, and when lucid the words would melt away, and numbers on the clock would change constantly.

However a couple nights ago, I had this dream and was suddenly lucid for no reason (which is how I get lucid most of the time, my mind just tells me I'm dreaming or I start the dream out already aware) and I saw a book on a desk, picked it up and opened a page. I focused very hard on the words of the book and was reading them. Granted I was reading slow for some reason as it was difficult to focus (I can't remember why at the moment) but the words in the book did not change at all. I was able to clearly read and understand what was printed in the book. I didn't seem to think that what was printed was very useful, because I quit after a short time, but still found it really interesting!

Anyways, I drifted into a dream that lasted a really long time, and awoke later. I do not remember what I had read though.

Anyone else know why this happened? Or why I was able to read? Does this happen to anyone often?

Thanks Piyal! Yeah it was so much fun, I can't believe how easy it is to forget how amazing your mind is at night. To think we can live during the day AND at night, still getting plenty of rest is quite awesome. I'm so excited to be getting back into this! And thank you for the compliment :) I live my life online, and need motivation to save my dreams, and this dream journal wasn't cutting it for me I guess, haha. Plus I like feedback and putting them online for the world to see is an excellent idea!

So, if you read my post a week or so ago, you saw that I created a new website for my dreams/OBE's....and I can't believe it I already had an OBE since starting this! I used to be very into this stuff, but haven't had one in over a year, and already within a couple weeks I've had a lucid dream turn into an OBE....I'm really excited!

I posted the OBE on my site: http://danielcmiller.com/dreams/?p=958 please take a look and let me know what you guys think! YAYYY I didn't think I would get one this soon to be honest...and I wasn't really even trying either.

This is going to be great!

Hey everyone! I used to be on the forum here in 2003 - 2005 as a different username, but have since kind of gotten side tracked...I have created a new blog (and uploaded some old posts from another forum of my expierences when I was around 13 years old). I'm really excited to be getting back into this! If you want to check out my blog I created, it's www.AwakeningYourDreams.org  hope you guys like it! I'm going to be reading a lot more about OBE's again, I miss them so much! I forgot how amazing they were....
