QuoteThe only way to get 100% is by *starting* with 100%... this is the HARD way, but from what I have been told that extra 1% makes a BIG difference.
nicely put gandalf.

I have been experiencing a new method. I start lucid dreaming, then decide to look at my hands, feel the vibrations and feel the 'astral wind'. But, then i return to my body in full conciousness but i take the vibrations from the LD. Then i project from there, and have a 100% experience. Nice if you stuggle with the concious method, but are a pro at LD, and you want that 100% experience.

This is why i believe LD is not true AP.

Also, lately because of wake-induced AP's it's like i've taken back into reality a perception of the astral. I am more intuative to people's thoughts, can sense disturbances, and feel my astral body within (Qi?), and sometimes if i close my eyes feel vibrations, etc. Even when i look at my hands in reality, i get a strange feeling like in a LD, like reality is no different anyway and power flows all the same. I have also been able to project just my hand, while fully awake -hectic. After a LD, you can definitley feel you have brought back something with you - you feel refreshed and feel energy eminating from you.
I mean these two worlds co-exist, so enlightment must mean to SEE both simultaneously and understand? Its a long journey. FUBAR.

QuoteYou think so?
yes. Sometimes i don't dream for weeks on end - then what am i supposed to do? When i do start dreaming then i have to remember to AP, which can be hard as dreams have a way of passively lulling you along. Then when you do get it right, experiences can be largely fantasy.

Wake-induced AP's are definitely more convincing as being real, because of the direct transition from reality to astral. Yet, the experiences are less lucid for starters. Yes, it is so complicated.
Quotesuspension of will
Yeah, till the vibrations set in - then it requires a powerful will from your central chakra to pull you out.
Feels like a metal stake going through your body. It is a strange thing concept that the will comes from your chakra and not your mind - the mind just interferes with the chakras when its 'spotlight' touches them.
The practice of Qi Gong helps clarify this.

Quotethought of seeing a scary entity

don't let the imp of the perverse bonk up your experience.

QuoteI no longer think I should be attempting wake-induced projections
Sure, wake-induced projections are harder to achieve but are intensely more satisfying. After all remembering to AP from a dream or LD is not very reliable.

The ultimate attainment is to AP at will, and later to be able to perceive both worlds simultaneously. Don't be a dreamer, strive to be a warrior.

OK, cool. Just haven't got around to real-world verification myself -will do, just not good enough yet. I don't doubt it is real for the meantime based purely on my user-based-reality.
#6
you are over-analyzing. the stuff about your childhood was just a joke.  :lol:
#7
The fear you felt was real. Looks like you are not over it yet - sorry for bringing out those repressed feeling about your childhood. Plus i am not trusting the judgement of a 4 year old about reality. As an adult that spider story does not hold.
You know the astral is real, cause it is scarely real as an adult. I don't mean you are actually physically scared, but the power and awe of it inpires a sense of primordial spinal tap phsyco grab-you-by-the-balls feeling that you cannot mistake as being fake.
#8
the proof comes when you are standing in the astral and you ask yourself if this is real. You know something is real, when it scares the excrement out of you. Then you are convinced.

Sounds awesome - what preset were you using?!!

Heard the other guy who went to the sun was going to try fly through it on his return. This sounds even more crazy now.

maybe a dead relative of his contacted you, so you could pass on a message? This happened to my friend - out of the blue an unknown college at work told her that her dead father had contacted her. My friend chickened out of pursuing this further, as the whole situation made her feel uneasy.

If you don't follow up, you'll never know...(and nor will we)

before birth, i remember decending upon the blue pearl known as earth.

For beginners i would recommend lucid dreaming first, just look at your hands while dreaming - dead easy. Its not as intense and scary, and you'll learn the concepts you will need for AP. You will build a familiarity for that realm, which will give you an anchor point for concious AP. Afterall you need to know the feeling to focus on while in meditation - just like riding a bike!

Anyway i am sceptical about this bwgen stuff - you don't need to rely on external apparatus when the power comes from within.

AP can take years to happen, so don't force it. AP is not just like jumping out of a plane - you must train to be receptive to power. Open your chakras, do yoga, take night hikes in the mountains...

good luck.

QuoteDOES ANYBODY ACTUALLY KNOW WHAT ASTRAL PROJECTION IS ALL ABOUT?

No.  But what are you without the physical? I guess just an emotional landscape. Like a connection of love i like to think as being non-physical, but an astral connection on a non-physical plane - how else would you take it with you when you die. Dylan Thomas says it best:

QuoteAnd death shall have no dominion.
Dead men naked they shall be one
With the man in the wind and the west moon;
When their bones are picked clean and the clean bones gone,
They shall have stars at elbow and foot;
Though they go mad they shall be sane,
Though they sink through the sea they shall rise again;
Though lovers be lost love shall not;
And death shall have no dominion.

Exploring the astral planes is the ultimate way to get to know yourself, without ego and physical distractions. Enlightenment.

QuoteEhm, beelzebub no longer is the perverse, prince of darkness that we all know from the Bible.

good to know. Guess there is hope for even the worst of us if Beelzebub is on the road to recovery.

Guess this means there's an job opening in hell?  :twisted:

Quotetake a glance at the back of your hands when you feel it start to turn just into the least bit of a dream. That sends a pulse of energy to your physical and strengthens the connection

Yeah, this really works (nice to see your astral body and feel that rush of energy) - after you look up you might have noticed objects have moved or disappeared. You have to keep track of all the objects, and try rationalize if they are real, etc. I found that if you look at your hands too often however, then all the objects disappear!  Try looking at the sky - its beautiful and its not an object so it will not disappear.

I also have the problem of distinguishing AP from LD sometimes. Generally though, if i AP from a LD i end up back in my room out my body. But sometimes i return to my body from a LD, even though i don't remember leaving - maybe subconsciously. weird.

I met Buda (yeah, i know this sounds like a cliche). Yeah, all i had to do was think out loud in my LD: " i must seek out the enlightened one!"
It was quite a journey to get to him - felt myself getting blown over hills and mountains for ages. Tons and wind and noise. Then i only saw his face for a second - but that was enough to provide a piece of englightenment and feel his presence. Then i found myself out my body next to my bed. I guess i need more energy before attempting this again!

overfien, i would like to hear about your meeting with Belzebuub and why you would seek her (lol) out in the first place - that takes balls!!!

it kinda worries me there are so many people on meds - i counted about 5 in this post!

Quoteyou'll never entirely understand yourself, since your mind, like any other closed system, can only be sure of what it knows about itself by relying on what it knows about itself.

Is our true understanding not a closed loop anyway?

I am a PhD student in molecular biophysics, so i f you need a real scientific opinion this is your best chance. Just post a real question next time.

QuoteOBEs/APs/LDs/WILDs, all the same for me.

i disagree, i will either project consciously or from within a lucid dream - therefore they cannot be the same thing. I will never feel like i am detached from my body or experience vibrations or reunification with the physical body during LD. This is an open debate however, and people have different opinions - wish we could find some sort of consensus to this. Opinions are welcome.

"Why, there's nothing else you can do but look into it and see what it is,"

yeah, sorry that was me.

Well said Frank.

Think of it as an analogy of psychics never predicting the winning lottery numbers - either they are beyond caring about materialistic gain or they are covering up the fact that they have no real gift.
#23
AP requires not such earthy devices.
#24
perhaps you should train your chakras, to be able to direct your energy in a more positive way. Sounds like by "training" you have build-up a bit of tension. Just learn to relax, take up some sport or joga and exercise those chakras!!!

this is a quote from Robert Monroe's Journeys out of the body:

Quotethe experience of an OOBE is usually one of the most profound experiences of a person's life, and radically alters his beliefs. This is usually expressed as, "I no longer believe in survival of death or an immortal soul, I know that I will survive death." The person feels that he has directly experienced being alive and conscious without his physical body, and therefore knows that he possesses some kind of soul that will survive bodily death.

This summed up my feelings after my first AP, and to repeat it one needs to possess impeccable will and no fear of death. To live like a warrior means to perform every action with full responsibility knowing it may cause your death. If anyone does not feel this way they should not attempt AP in the first place - if your will-power and conviction is weak, you will be destroyed out there.

As for the bushmen: AP should never be used for malicious purposes, as such actions demonstrate a weak-will power in the first place. Anyone who is evil is weak-willed, and is doomed on the AP. Evil corrupts those with an imperfect will after all - does it not?

In summary, the decision is yours as long as you can accept the fact it may lead to your death.
