Wow! I wish they had something like this in my hometown!

I read the Da Vinci code.

I think it's definitely possible. On the other hand, however, I've heard that the 'masters,' as they are called, come to earth knowing what they are here to accomplish. Maybe that fact lead him to be so focused on what he was here to accomplish that normal, human desire was not an issue.

Y'know, speaking of Popes and the end of the world, there's only one more Pope after this as predicted by Nostradamus before the supposed end of the world.    I saw that on the history channel, I think.

Can anyone say 'no' to being seen? I mean, no one has any control over being seen and visited in the physical- is it different in other places?

Well, a few years ago... (I'm guessing roughly about 5 years ago)... I was introduced to astral projection. I'm not sure by what means... I think perhaps someone in a chat room mentioned it. Anyhow, I started looking into the topic by typing in "Astral Projection" into google. The mysticweb website was one of the first that appeared (and I didn't know or realize at the time its cultish feel) so I clicked, surfed around, and became a member of their forums. I was naturally extremely curious about the topic, and read around the forums quite often for the months and even years following. (Luckily, I ran into other websites, including this one, before being too deeply sucked in by these people.) I noticed that whenever anyone mentioned their OBE experiences, a post always followed right after telling that person that their experience while out of body was 'meant for them,' and that if they revealed too much they would cease having any further experiences. My question to you is... Was this something just said by the folks down there at mysticweb to scare people, or has OBE research truly progressed since that time, and people no longer believe that revealing their experiences will hinder their performance at later times? A few years ago, did everyone think this way, or was it just mysticweb? I've been curious about this for quite some time.

I'm now about halfway through 'Far Journeys'... and, to say the least, I'm REALLY confused!   He's describing all of these situations... Am I supposed to take these as literal? Did they really happen to him? Because they're (like the one with AA and BB) written like they're stories... not like actual occurrences in first person. (Is he observing these 'rotes' or experiencing them firsthand?) Does he go on to explain these later in the book? I feel like I've been dished a ton of information with no explanation. Also- what about these words and definitions... Did he make them up? I'm having a hard time understanding all of the 'smoothing,' 'turning,' etc... And in one of the scened, AA says to the little form, "You don't know what a rote is?" like maybe 'rote' is a common term where he lives. ALSO- why is it all in English? How was he able to perceive these words? Is English TRULY the universal language?    Any help in understanding this will be appreciated greatly. I'm sorry if I haven't made much sense in explaining my problems, and I also apologize if the answers to all of these questions are blatantly obvious.

I'd like to know this as well. I, too, recently purchased Journeys Out of the Body and have been trying this vibration technique. The only result I've achieved is rapid twitching on my physical face. (?)

Last week, I felt the vibrations for the first time, but I have no idea how I got there, and it was before I received the book. They also went away rather quickly.

Wow- I think I'd almost prefer the supposed gigantic tidal wave in 2007 to being burned alive or choked to death by noxious gasses!

Hi there! I recently ordered Monroe's 3 books from Amazon. I'm currently reading 'Journeys Out of the Body,' although it is somewhat torn and rumpled- as my dog decided to open the package herself one afternoon before I returned home.

Anyhow... I know that Monroe is deceased, and I just passed the point in the book where it speaks of his strange plane/death situation. In his notes, it stated that if he did, indeed, die on his trip, he would try to communicate with those that were interested.

My question to you is- After Monroe died back in 1995, was he able to get in touch with anyone? Is he still communicating with people?

I realize that no one may know the answer to that question, but I thought I'd ask just in case anyone did- or just in case anyone has actually met Monroe while out of body.

I think it's possible. Let me quote part of 'Creating Your Reality' by Anne Varnes.

Let me give you an example of this amazing creative ability that each and every one of us
possesses. As I was perusing an art gallery during an out-of-body experience, I couldn't believe
the beauty and magnificence of the paintings that were before me. Someone in the gallery
greeted me and stated that I, too, could create paintings of this caliber should I desire. Although I
am a creative and artistic person, this was something far beyond any known conscious ability
that I knew existed on my part. I was encouraged, however, to try and manifest a painting on my
own. I went over to a blank palette and started to use my will to conjure up a painting. I didn't
focus on what it was, just let my higher creative self come through. As I watched, the most
beautiful piece of art started to appear. I couldn't believe that was within me. It was heavenly!
You see, because I had no physical filter present, the creative forces were allowed to come forth
without any obstruction. If I had a physical brain that was more "open," I could have created this
here on earth as well. Even during intense meditation here in the physical when my brainwaves
have passed from alpha to theta, I am able to conjure up sublime musical pieces and imagery that
would rival any master here on earth. It is within us all. We talk of right- and left-brain people,
but what this is really saying is that one side of the brain has a filter more open than the other and
that their gifts are making it evident which side is less restricted.

Yeah- if there are no lessons to learn, what is the point of even living? In the ebook Creating Your Reality by Anne Varnes (http://www.astralvoyage.com/ebook/creating-your-reality.html), it mentions how sadness was created to contrast happiness, and how hate was created to contrast love. If we didn't have the 'illusion of separation' so to speak, we wouldn't be able to learn any of the lessons that they offer!

And those pills you were talking about- I believe they already exist in the form of anti-depressants and drugs.

Technology, unfortunately, seems to be heading in the wrong direction. Like Nostic said, people today are WAY too obsessed with the material world. Did you know gas is predicted to be at 6 bucks here in a few months? We're destroying ourselves and everything around us for the sake of money and material gain. One million species of both plants and animals are expected to be extinct by the year 2050. I think a change is definately in order, if not already overdue. How far can we go, you asked? In my opinion, the sky is the limit until something is done to change the minds of those currently shrouded by the material.

Hey- that's not a bad idea, Ben! In fact, I could start right now! However, I'm afraid I'm not extremely knowledgeable when it comes to AP, seeing as I've yet to experience one!  

Of course, I could always make a bunch of stuff up and start a cult- like mysticweb!

Another reason might be that our science has yet to explore these areas. Remember - People who thought the world was round were considered crazy in earlier times!

Here's a quote from the movie "What the beep do we know" that sort of talks about this:

Every age every generation has its own assumptions, that the world is flat but the world is round etc. There are hundreds of hidden assumptions, that we take for granted, things that may or may not be true of course the vast majority of cases, historically, these things aren't true so presumably if history is any guide, much about what we take for granted about the world simply isn't true. But we are locked into those precepts without even knowing it. That's a modern paradigm."

Perhaps we are the Copernicus-es of our time. Maybe some day little school children will be laughing as they read their history books, wondering why in the world people ever thought that 'physical reality' was all that existed- just as we today chuckle at the thought of people, years ago, being afraid of falling off the edge of the earth.


I also wonder, since we're so interested in this kind of stuff, if we were born spiritually ahead of those who live their whole lives without exploring Astral Projection and the like. I'm thinking this might be possible after reading the AstralVoyage article on the evolution of the soul. (http://www.astralvoyage.com/projection/afterlife.html)

I know that most of you have careers that have nothing to do with Astral Projection, etc..., but does an occupation in this field exist? I am aware of the Monroe institute, and I know that some people write books on the topic... but is there a way to have a job in Astral Projection?

It's probably wishful thinking- like a kid wanting to eat ice cream for a living, but I was just wondering!

I've read many articles and books (about astral projection) that have talked about how Jesus says in the Bible that we can do everything that He can and more. However, this exact verse is never given. I've searched the forums a bit with no luck. Can someone point me in the right direction? Thanks!
