I often notice astral blindness and dizziness while I'm still close to my physical body. Once I struggle out of my bedroom I'm fine.

I've noticed that as well  

I find if I try to force a sensation in my fingertips when the sensation's not happening naturally, then I do get an uncomfortable feeling that could be do to straining the nerves there.
