HI and welcome to the madness (well thats what the rational people think of all this  )

QuoteThis time, I knew that this was going to be another astral projection/sleep paralysis episode. So my "sister" grabbed my left wrist and started pulling, telling me to go with her. She was like, "c'mon c'mon c'mon c'mon" and I was thinking "no no no no". I tried saying no, but the left part of my face was paralyzed and just like my first sleep paralysis/astral projection episode, I had a hard time speaking.

I have what you could consider to be an apt analogy to explain what you experienced. Think of a dream like a movie and you are following a script. When you begin to realize that your are dreaming and try to take control you begin to ad lib so to speak. You try to change the script but a part of you wants keep following it. So you may find that your ability to speak becomes confused, in your case it was partial paralasys of the face. This sort of thing has happened to me on a few occasions, my voice becomes a harsh whisper or there is a slurring of words trying to be forced out. I wouldn't worry to much about it though as eventually as you get better at the transition to lucid dreaming it will happen less frequently and it won't freak you out so much.

QuoteI lay in bed and I felt a strong gust of wind coming from above me. I couldn't move and I knew that the dark male figure was on its way to crush me. I knew I had to wake up, but I couldn't move. I opened my mouth and tried to make a sound, and as the dark figure came, I managed to roll to the other side of the bed, and the figure landed beside me. I woke up after that.

Ahh the mysterious dark figure. I had a brush with a similar entity some time back. I was coming out of a lucid dream and found that i could not move, I just laid there paralyzed. I then saw a dark figure standing beside my bed, it then lent down with its ear almost touching my chest, looked me in the face and simply giggled. I can tell you that the giggling was an even bigger surprise than the entity itself and that it shocked me out of the paralasys so that I could take a swing at it. As I swung at where its head was it just faded away. I then just sat there for minute or two wondering what it was and what it found so dammed funny. Strangely enough this occurred a little before 4:00am too.  :-o

I hope I've helped in someway and if not then there are always others here who maybe of more help. Of course as I write this I have been up all night and its about 8:00am and I really neeeeeeed some sleep.  :-D

Hi There.

yes. It's actually a method for lucid dreaming. It won't always work, but I used that method to induce astral projection while dreaming. (more successful with this technique than the hypnogogic and hypnopompic states).

I've used the same technique myself and have found it to be most useful.

OK this is maybe what you want to know.

K105 is a globular cluster of stars in the M31 galaxy also known as the Andromeda Galaxy.

Affirmations are a good way to prepare you for a lucid dream but i also use a reality check. The way it works is to come up with a trigger such as looking at the back of your hands and tell yourself that you are dreaming. Before I go to sleep I repeat to my self several times "I shall dream and I shall control it. I shall dream and I shall control it."

The combination of both techniques is for me a pretty effective method. By doing the reality check several times a day to start with it soon becomes second nature even in your dreams. The affirmation also mentally sets me up to control the dream. I have also noticed that my dream recall is much stronger and I've found it easier and easier to notice the oddities that tell me that I am dreaming.

I lucid dream practically every night. So keep at it and you will find that it does get easier with practice.   :-D

Nice story there TalaNay. I wonder if the big book i saw on the desk was about me too.  :-D

I actually did make to the Akahic records once and it did resemble a library.  8-)

To me it appeared as a series of large rooms with shelves on every wall with Greek pillars in the corners holding up a vaulted ceiling. It had the appearance of great age. When i visited the place the first room i entered there was a large wooden desk in the center with a single large book on it. I also noticed behind the desk stood a elderly looking man with grey hair and he was wearing what looked like to be robes of some kind. He didn't say anything but merely smiled at me. I didn't get to see what was in the book as i was unceremoniously woken by my dogs wanting to go outside.  :-(

You could always try one of those recliner chairs. Just throw on a blanket and lie back.

I had the same problem with my feet but over time and with practice I've managed to simply ignore any kind of discomfort but use it to relax my feet. Plus I have a little more give with the blankets at the bottom of the bed now. It was a lot worse a couple of years ago as my feet used to hang over the end of the bed. I had to sleep on an angle across the bed or curled up.  :rolling:

Quote from: falsetigerlimbsI had an experience today where after the usual vibrations, noises and rising sensations, wooden poles appeared down the side of my bed and I stood up on my bed and started climbing them. My body felt really strange, kind of pulsating and shifting, and I remember feeling the metal of my bed and the wood under my feet. However, I didn't feel completely awake. I was conscious of what was happening and had full control of myself. I marveled at what was happening, and thought about where I wanted to go. Then I was laying down again, still pulsating. I could still see the poles. Then they vanished and the pulsating stopped.

This sounds like a transition from the dream state (ie. climbing down the wooden poles) into the projection state.

Quote from: falsetigerlimbsWhen you have left your body, do you feel just like you're awake, does it feel like a conscious dream, or is it in a class of its own? (I read somewhere on here that an OBE is a conscious dream, but does it FEEL like one?)

Good question. I can't say for others but for me it's almost like being awake but with emotions subdued a little. My sight also has what seems to be slight haziness to it, like I am looking through a fog or mist. A conscious dream or LD (lucid dream) is different in that you can sense that it is a dream. Your surroundings will be really strange (well they always are in my case). In some cases you can mistake an OoBE for a dream but rarely a dream for an OoBE

The more OoBE's and LD's you have the more you will be able to tell the difference.

Hi there and welcome to the forums.  :welcome:

What you describe is the classic start to an OoBE. The paralysis is quite normal and is commonly referred to as 'sleep paralysis' or SP. This occurs when the body is asleep but since your mind is still awake you are able to feel it still. Most of us also along with the SP feel a vibration as if your whole body was humming and a slight electric tingling sensation. The best thing to do is not to fight it but go with it. The sounds you mentioned are also quite common. Many report what sounds like rushing wind, pops, bangs, whispers and the crackle of electricity.

Don't worry about the panic as that will fade the more you practice and understand whats happening. You will find alot of friendly people here to help you with advice and encouragement.

Well I can't say for others but I do believe that the right type of energy work can have positive effects on the body. By focusing the energy through Reiki or meditation you can aid the body's immune system so shortening the length of an illness. Although this is just my opinion and I haven't seen any in depth studies it certainly can't hurt anything to try.

Hi all I thought I would post my latest breakthrough in LDing.  :dancing:

The other morning I was having a really good LD, the control was solid and the visuals were clear and crisp. I could see myself in mirrors and when I looked down at myself, something that I cant do when I project (odd that ehh   ). Anyway as usual all LD's have to end and I soon found myself falling out of it. I lay there  mentally awake but my body was still asleep. I had the strong desire to get back into the LD but I wasn't sure as to how to achieve this. Then without any conscious thought on my part the image of falling backwards through a cloud filled sky entered my mind and I was soon back in the LD with the same level of control and clarity as before.  What I found to be remarkable was that each time I left the dream I was able to reenter it twice more but by consciously using the 'falling through clouds' trigger.

It should be noted that the first time the falling through clouds image came to me that I did not call it forth through any conscious means. I just wanted to get back to the lucid dream I was having when boom there it was. The feeling was and still is quite natural and almost without any effort. The image starts with a brilliant blue sky filled with fluffy looking pure white clouds, then I start to zoom away through the clouds backwards while at the same time slowly and gently falling down. The whole thing was just so comfortably natural.

What I intend to do now is see if such a trigger works every time i leave an LD or whether it could be used to help induce an OOBE. It would also be interesting if any one else use were to use this method what sort of results they get or if they have a different method.

Well good for you blade on your experiences. Although I am no expert, I seem to remember something about 'going forth in spirit' in the bible somewhere and assume that this could be a reference to OOBE's.

Anyway good luck in your personal search within.

amazing    until you asked the question i  hadn't realized that I cant recall ever using colorful expletives when lucid dreaming or even in regular dreams for that matter.  Next time I have an LD I think I will try a choice expletive or two just to see what happens.  If anyone else manages to do it first I hope they will post what happened for all of us.

I know what you mean about back problems. I cant lay on my back for to long as I get a sharp pains down the right side of my lower back. If I get my method going right I can soon get the pain to disappear into the background.

Don't worry about the rapid beating of the heart chakra as for some people this is normal. I get it all the time normally when I am near an exit. I sometimes get a warm throbbing feeling in my brow chakra too. As to that lighter feeling you get here is a excerpt from the early section of my log when I was beginning.

Quote...The deeper I went the more fuzzy my physical sensations became, it was as if my body was melting into the bed. At the same time as my body was feeling heavier with this fuzzy melting I also felt an expanding lifting feeling. This was most noticeable in the arms. Mentally the deeper I went the more calm and ordered my mind came, sounds took on a more softer gentler quality... .

I find that these sensations are pretty typical for any of my practice sessions. You'll find that if you do any energy work your chakras will become more active.

The other night while dreaming I managed to 'awake within the dream'. I suddenly realized that the surrounding scenery was really bizarre to say the least   . I knew I was in a dream so I took control and had a little fun....at first. I then used the opportunity to see if I could find myself a guide by yelling out "help I am in need of a guide"   . Sure enough an elderly looking women turned up and said "Hello did you call". She looked quite friendly but what puzzled me was that her mouth just vanished and I thought that I did it and said sorry. Her mouth came back but everything around me started to change and wouldn't you know it I woke up. Now the question is was it a genuine guide or did i make her up?  :dont-know:

I use a eye mask and I find it very effective. Not only does it keep out any unwanted light it also aids in keeping your eyes closed. Also on the plus side anything I 'see' ie my room, while trying to AP means that I did not use my physical eyes.

Quote from: kiwibongaAnother thing that's a potential concern is... Will my eyes close on their own after a while, or will I wake up the next day with dual pink eye?

Ha you'll probably wake up screaming "I' blind, I'm blind" before realizing that you still have them on.  :justkidding:

Well I am intrigued, what CD's are these and perhaps you can post a link to were I can get the CD's.  :meditate:

Quote from: astraluminatedhello cereal,

heres one method; take the right hand and with your fingers pointed to your chakra make seven circles before it in clockwise direction vieuwed from in front of you. do this with every chakra from the first chakra to the seventh.

Hope this helps for you.

Hang on, for example if you were doing your brow/third eye chakra, looking at your hand would it be going anticlockwise or clockwise? Also do you visualize your chakra's with colors?

Does indeed sound almost like "Remote Viewing" but not on the physical plane.
I have always wanted to try something like this myself. So basically are you in a relaxed state first before you raise your arm and start doing loops.

Might give it a try sometime.

I hope this guy doesn't stop posting. It hilarious  :locolaugh: . If you have read any of the things that this Paul Curran claims not to mention his book then you'll know what I mean.

If the article was written by someone else it might be a little more credible but, come on people he wrote the thing himself. What a waste of self promotion as it isn't that impressive.

Quote from: MisterJingoWhen you fly can you fly as high as you want to? I ask as a lot of the time I sort of hit a 'ceiling' which seems to be roof-top level. My theory on this is that I have knowledge of my area from the ground, but from above the roof tops, its an unknown. So a barrier seems to exist at that level. When I do get above the roof tops, the area always bears very little resemblence to reality (the layout changes, styles of houses change etc), but when on the ground, things are pretty much the same (I guess because I have an extensive knowledge of my area from the ground level - but not above).

When I started to fly in my dreams I couldn't go past the height of the power and telephone lines due to a fear of getting caught up in them ( didn't know that at the time). This was when I was very young and had a little trouble with heights, but as I grew out of that fear I found that I could fly higher and higher. Now I know that there is no limit to how high you can fly as you are quite safe and can exit the dream whenever you want.   :superman:
