Maa, maa...I'd look to North Korea before I looked to Iran. Iran is a fairly civilized country, you know.

Can I ask you all something bluntly?

...

WTF?

Post envy? Get real, guys. It's the content, not the quantity of your posts that matter.

I don't really understand why they have to be exclusive from each other. =\

I mean, who says God didn't just start or guide evolution? Does it have to be all or nothing? Seriously.

I don't know who they are, but I think in any situation, it's best to trust your gut, you know what I mean?

Quote from: moogle_assassinhappy what most people consider to be Jesus Christs birthday. yes that's right, i said Jesus Christ, I'm being politically incorrect.

It's...it's really okay if you want to say Jesus Christ. Really.

I don't know why everyone can't just state their opinion and what they believe and be done with it, without having to make a big shmozz out of it. :(

Quote from: AstralBornSorry... I dont mean to sound rude but christmas has nothing to do with paganism... Or christianity...
The ties with paganism you posted are just...... Ridiculous... No offence.

long ago some guy whent to some town and left sacks of money or objects hanging on the doors of every house every year around mid to late december, and sometimes he threw it down there chimneys... that is were christmas comes from...

"have a Merry PAGAN holiday!!!!" It is not a pagan holiday...
Any SIMILARITIES to pagan traditions does not make the holiday pagan, Nor does it make paganism the root of the traditions...

When people post claims like that, it's considered polite to post a link to some, you know, actual evidence in that direction.

If you have none, of course...well, that says a lot about your argument, sirrah.

Very interesting, but I don't think the fact that Christmas borrows some pagan rituals and traditions, as well as it's date, makes it any less valid as a holiday, really. Most Christians who care to do research know that Christ wasn't likely born in December, and that the Romans placed the holiday there for ease of transition. The message, however, is still the same, whenever it takes place.

Thank you very much for sharing your beliefs with us, Abraham. I can see that you have a very strong faith in Islam, and I'm sure it will bring you a lot of happiness.

However, not all of us here are willing to be converted at this time, so perhaps it would be more prudent to express your faith in a different manner?

I offer him complete congratulations on finding a good, moral religion that he can follow in good faith. I don't agree with all of his points, but I will concede that North America should focus much more on the consequences of the past - if we realize what we are doing that is making things wrong, we won't be inclined to do so again.

However, I think it's unfair to paint the entirety of the so-called "western world" with the brush of imperialism. Canada has never tried to impose something like that in any way, and I would say that most North Americans agree that every nation should have the right to self-govern. The government does not always reflect the people, and the people do not always reflect the government.

In addition, just because we have different ideals and goals to strive for does not mean we are wrong - nor does it mean Islam is wrong. I think we could learn a lot about strong faith in the face of anything from Islam.

I think do think, however, that it isn't prudent to suggest that Islam is better than anything else in the same piece of work that attacks the western world for thinking of themselves as better than anyone else.

Hah, his name was Crowley? Did he have a Bentley?

...

Sorry, never mind me.

Magic, (note the lack of a 'k.' There is no 'k,') or the manipulation of spiritual energies, is much like science. Like has been said, it can be used for good or evil, to create or destroy - an atom bomb versus a vaccine.

With that said, I'm going to refer to "Black Magic" as the use of magic in destruction or for self-serving purposes.

I would recommend not jumping into the Black Magic unless you're a twenty-something or younger goth type who thinks it will make them hardcore. Usually everyone just laughs at them, anyway, and they don't end up doing a lot of damage.

Now, when you've got the intense serious Black Magic types, you want to watch out. Scary folks.

Stick with safe, garden-variety charms unless you really want to devote your entire life to it, because it'll take up all your energy.

Quote from: Neutrino4344The Roman Catholic church is the largest cult in the world, it a has a false teaching on Marry as Co-redeemer!And its Only Jesus!

How dare you walk in here with your hand-fed prejudices and call a loving religion, a religion so similar to your own, an evil cult? Why do you focus so intently on the small differences and ignore the fact that 99% of the doctrine is exactly the same?

I promise you that Catholics do not worship Mary. They are simply looking to her as an example of how they as followers of Jesus Christ and the Lord should do whatever God asks them to.

Catholics do not worship Saints, they also use them as examples of how to better serve God.

50% of priests are not homosexual pedophiles, and I would like to see that website's sources. Did they do a survey? "Are you a homosexual pedophile? Y/N." Are you that blind?

Artistic renditions painted by certain Catholics should not be taken as dogma. If I interpreted Christianity by your inane mutterings, I would think it an evil, closed and divided religion.

Why are you so brainwashed, sir?

Quote from: Neutrino4344Whats sad is the fact that people loves to state their false philosophies and do no care nothing about the truth, they might be the ones wondering around life with no true purpose. I have a purpose, its to accomplish the will of God to help my society and make disciples. People probably just go around following their minds and serving self, its not profitable and its not everlasting. Serving self is what lots of people like doing because their selfish, as it is written

23Then he said to them all: "If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.--- Luke 9:23

Certain people has the audacity to say that True Christians are lost, if the truth is in the mind what do you have to gain, what... selfish ambition and gain? How old are you guys? I'm speaking you you Nickjw directly.

Sir, it is you who has the audacity to walk into this forum and dictate your beliefs with little more than a book of philosophy - good philosophy with generally loving messages, but a book nonetheless - to back up your hateful statements.

In the words of William Shakespeare, "Even the Devil can quote scripture to suit his own purposes."

I wonder why it is that whenever someone different pops up in society, we force medication or therapy or whatever else on them to "hammer down the nail," as it were?

Maybe the point is that they were never meant to 'fit in' with the rest of society. Perhaps they're meant for something else, and in trying to conform them to mediocrity we're destroying them. Hmmmm?

Nothing pisses me off more than people who say someone should be killed just because they're different. Nothing.

That poor girl. I hope medical science and plastic surgery can do something so that she can live as normal a life as possible. That failing, I hope she grows up surrounded by people who love her and respect her for who she is.

Also, I hope half of those people on Ebaum's world get hit by a bus. ^_^

Projector, my dear sir, you are a jewel. Your once sentence responses and close-minded boasting are truly without parallel. I especially liked the bolding, that was a nice touch.

See, I find myself in doubt that you can project at all. *smile* If you could, I would hope very much that you would have brought back something a little more meaningful than "kicking butt with King Jesus."

But of course, my expectations may be too high...?

Quote from: markulousActually isn't Steven Hawking's IQ like 280?  I could be wrong though.

I pretty much agree with the last 2 posters though.  To say the bible is right for you is one thing.  But to just say it's right, period, is another.

And even if your IQ is 212, it really doesn't mean anything.  Your IQ is intelligence, not wisdom.

At any one time, the average IQ is always at a standard 100, and the highest possible IQ is always 200. While the actual average IQ of the populace may change over the years, the scale is altered to reflect that while still keeping the average and maximum numbers.

Personally? I don't think it's aliens. I do, however, think it might be spirit-work, or messages from the dead. *shrug* That seems much more likely to me.

On the one hand, good for them for getting their heads out of the sandbox! It's great that there's a bible that speaks to younger girls now in a way that's not full of euphemism and skirting around issues.

On the other hand, "warning" a lesbian that some old dead guy said something against being lesbian? Yeah, not going to help her enjoy life. You can't 'recover' from being a lesbian. You can't take a 'lesbian sick leave.' You don't 'choose' to be lesbian. I mean, really. "Hey, I'm going to choose a lifestyle in which people will loathe and despise my very existence!" Instead, you're going to get a potentially suicidal teenage girl who thinks God will hate her no matter what she does. Good job!

Me? I just feel afraid all the time. *smile* But that's something that's been happening since I was a wee little thing, so it probably has nothing to do with anything.
