Ask while you are there and await your answer. Don't be surprised though if the answer comes in the form of a thought or feeling though. Many times it can be a quest or adventure as well. Yes and No answers are very hard to come by there!  :|

Thats the thing. I feel like a have asked that over an over. Also I have asked to go to another location. But for some reason the answers aren't apparent. I'll keep at it. Thanks Lionheart!

How long do you plan on relying on others? Don't get me wrong, it's a great thing that you are asking questions. But the only one who can answer the question above is you. There are people who will be able to guide you through and get you started, but you have to do the rest.

I'm not relying on others as you put it. I have been having this issue for some time now and am looking for feedback. If it was as simple as me knowing the answer, I would have made progress by now in some way. Don't be so quick to judge another's situation.

Find out the reason why you are going where you are first. Then you will find that you are "free" to travel elsewhere.

I see the teachings of the NPR (Non Physical Realms/Reality) being the same as schools here per say. You do indeed graduate to the next level. But only after you have learned the purpose of the current one you are in.

How does one figure out why they are there? I usually try and explore as soon as I can. I keep myself in the experience for as long as possible by spinning from time to time.

When you say you can't transition from the "RTZ" to another location... what do you mean exactly and how to you recognize that you're in the "RTZ"?

I'll be upfront, I'm not a big believer in what people call the "RTZ".

Is it the RTZ to you because it's a familiar place?  Or someplace that just "looks" Earthly?  Or some other reason?

Hi Xanth.

I'll try and explain as best I can. This is a place i have gone to since an early age but just recently became aware that its very different. I know I'm in between the dream world and the physical because of what I experience before I arrive. For example, a buzzy energy in the body, high pitch tones, strange orchestral music. To me...my version of the RTZ is this: It looks and feels as close to the physical as you can get. Sometimes I can't even tell the difference until I perform reality checks. However, dream like qualities still apply and I can go through walls and do as I wish.... Except for some reason I can't leave. I wish to go to this scene I have written in my dream journal. It is a simple beach. Does this help?

One of two things.
I visualize a scene in my head. Could be anything.

Or I'm just so tired I fall asleep.

Currently I have been trying to expand my astral awareness by attempting to transit from the RTZ to another location. I have willed myself, jumped up high into the sky, asked for help from my guide...but I have not succeeded for some reason. I am going through a transition in my waking life right now. Lots of moving pieces; I just moved away from my parents and got a new full time job so perhaps that is causing my road block? The closest I have ever gotten to coming out of the RTZ as I know it is seeing pure bright white light. Then I saw what looked like an ancient Chinese lion character. And after that, it fell away. Hm.

I would love thoughts and any helpful hints that can be provided. I'm thinking my uncertainty while being awake is impeding my progress.

Recently, I have been having to practice projection or meditation in rather noisy environments. Because of this I have developed a technique to help catapult myself into a peaceful relaxed state despite whatever is going on around me. And I would like to share.

First off, you want to work WITH the noise and not against it. Go with the flow.
Visualize and sense the noise in your mind-Whatever it may be. And then you want try and find the silence within that noise. Its almost like a track overlayed by another. Something that is hidden within. Actually that is exactly how I envision it. But do what works for you. Listen for the silence and try and focus on that. Align yourself with it if you can and eventually you will start to FEEL it.

Sorry if this is hard to understand. Its the best way I can describe it! Let me know if this works!

Great post! I also find spirit guides fascinating.
I can't pin point as to when I first met mine but its been with me since I was four.
He is a large white dragon with irredesent scales. My earliest memory of the two of us? It was perhaps the most beautiful dream I can recall to date. I was riding on my guide's back while he flew us to this candyland/waterpark world. Think Willy Wonka meets an empty Disneyland. I remember it as something that seemed like it was from a book or fantasy movie. Very bright and colorful. We spent some time at that place and had fun on those strange twisty water slides.

My guide used to show up if I got in trouble. Midway through my life, I acquired the ability to summon him if needed. But I only do so if I need to get out of a situation, need protection, or need to help another person.
I have heard that some people have conversations with their guide. Mine remains silent. I keep meaning to try and converse with it, but I always forget since I only come in contact with it during tense situations. :)

How did you meet your guide?

Thank you everyone for your input.
I'm going to try the shooting up into the sky technique next time. I have gotten out of my house in the Rtz and explored my neighborhood. While doing so, I can fly, move at superhuman speeds, and become invisible (kind of meld into the scenery) if I need to do so. So, I am very aware of what is happening at all times.

There was one where I tried to just keep flying horizontally in one direction...
I ended up going over a grey desolate ocean that had a lot of cloud cover.

Again, thank you everyone! Please keep this topic going. I love reading your replies and tips.

Hello again,

I often roll out of my body and find myself in the RTZ. Being fully lucid, I try to transport myself to another location. I am having a hard time doing so. Its almost like I'm fighting with myself thinking 'let's see if this works' and then other times I think 'this is going to work' and nothing happens. How does one overcome this?

Also, does it help to have a single location in mind when trying to do this?

Not sure if I have postd here yet or not...
But I hope I just did that right. Lol!
Its nice to put faces to the names of people with who you have been conversing with for quite some time.

If you can pull yourself from a dream or any experience where you have full awareness, the place to head for is that 3D blackness.
It can be reached through meditation or yoga as well as phasing. Waking from a dream is the easiest method if you have that option.
Once in the mindstate ask for what you want using feelings and thoughts. Be as accurate as possible. Words do work but they are so limited and rarely get you your desires.
If you've mastered telepathy, this is the method to use. You get heard and then everything changes around you. You may enter a vortex for yours. Stay with the destination in mind and have nothing else but success on your mind. Be confident and this should be successful.

This is a difficult question to put into words. But, I was wondering do you believe it is possible to contact loved ones who have passed away in the astral? If so, how does one go about it?
The most I have experienced is RTZ projection and I every once in a while I'll see a random person. None of these people speak however.

Once right before I was just about to 'seperate' from my physical body, I hear the most beautiful symphonic orchestral song I have, possibly, ever heard. The best way I can describe it is that it seemed familiar and yet it twisted and turned in ways that kept surprising me.
My question is...
Is this song a production of my mind or do you think it came from the Astral?

If only I could of recorded it! :)

 :-o

It all began when I got up in the morning to use the bathroom. While up, I talked to my Mom a little bit. Maybe all of this happened because I was awake a little longer then I would have been normally. I'd say this took no longer then seven minutes.

As I tried to go back to sleep I got to a point where I started hearing a loud wavering tone in my head. I remembered this tone from my last experiences, so I knew what was happening. At this point the tone, is like a wake up call so that I know it's almost time to roll on out and open my eyes. I felt subdued vibrations in my body for a breif time. Next thing I know I'm in my room. Everything so realistic. I knew it wasn't the physical but wanted to make sure just incase I wanted to fly. The ways a have come to validate this now are through looking at my clock to see what it says. I have also tried clapping my hands together. It's strange. You can feel the Impact of your hands slapping together, but no pain or aftershock. Ok, so my first 3 false awakening experiences I decided I wanted to try and find a certian someone. I got downstairs and out into my neighborhood. I called this persons name. A voice responded. I see the person that responded but it was not the person was looking for. Matter of fact, when I brought that to their attention they made a funny screwed up face at me like they were insulted. Lol. Then ended my first FA. The second and third FA were more of me searching on my own. To no avail, I couldn't find what I was looking for. Once the third FA ended, I thought to myself 'This isn't working. Let's see of I can fly.' As entered the fourth FA I heard the most beautiful  orchestrated music I have ever heard in my life. If I could write the song on paper, I'd win an award surely. Lol. The song kept surprising me. I would think how amazing it was and then it would just get better and better in ways that I would have predicted! I have never heard anything like that in my life. After the song subsided, I was in my room again. I tried to jump and go through the ceiling like super man. But all I saw was blackness. Maybe it was because, I didn't fully believe if I could do it or not? The fifth FA was a similar flying attempt.

This morning I was so psyched I has these experiences. However, I am wondering how I get to another location or how do I overcome the flying problem?

This seems to really help me. Try it and see.
Imagine/visualize (without straining your mind) yourself rotating as you are laying. Most of the time when I do this I picture myself floating in an open space while just rotating like a rotisserie chicken. LOL. Focus on the motion of the rolling onto your side. Try to observe it more so then feel it. Kind of hard to explain, but I hope that helps.

You might suprise yourself and roll right out of your non physical bed or into a scene.

Sometimes we don't get enough out of the experience to know in the moment what is actually happening but there is no such thing as a useless OOBE. Each one teaches you something new or just plain builds confidence. And who knows, the story may not be over and you will be returning. Maybe not today and may be not tomorrow.........

Man, an unmentionable punishment for possession of parsley and running, that's harsh. :-D

I agree! It was such a strange one. AND YEAH...the parsley. Gotta watch out for that.

Interesting projection from last night.
I was in some sort of theater environment with a guy and a girl. These two have appeared recently in other dreams too. I don't know who they are. But there was also a large group of people that belonged to some sort of organization. An announcement came on the loud speaker saying how having any kind of possession of drugs is illegal. The male that was with me saw that one of the organization members was carrying a green baggy full of a leafy substance. To me, it looked like parsley. LOL!(I don't do drugs, btw.) Immediatly the guy I was with started making a scene and pretty much outed the organization member for carrying the substance. Apparently, all the other people from this organization got pretty mad about that. Next thing I know they are escorting me, my two friends and anyone else that wasn't involved with them into an auditiorium. They placed all of us down on our knees.  The leader came to the of the forefront of the crowd and explained that we were either going to be executed or trained to join their little club.  ...if we survive. I remember seeing that some of these oragization members were actually some of my friends from high school years back. I remember going up to one of them saying 'Really? Are you really going to do this? You don't have to.' But anyway...Everyone was frightened. I was in the front of the kneeling crowd with my two friends. Everyone in back of me wouldn't even lift there heads up to look anyone in the eye. It was like their foreheads were plastered to the ground. There were guards with guns standing at a door to the right. Someone tried to escape, but he was caught. I won't say what happened to him. Not PG at all. As the commotion from what just happened died down, I looked to my female companion and said 'we have to try and get out of here. Even if we end up dying, its better then what awaits us. We have a really good shot if all of us work together.' She agreed. I distinctly remember as we talked telling her to look forward as we conversed as to not tip off the guards. After some time, we took our chance with the door on the right. Everyone behind us  joined in surprisingly enough, but only a few of us made it outside to a wide open area of a forest. It was me, and two other older women now. Not sure where my two friends went. I knew that the guards would pursue, so I decided to call my guide the dragon. He came almost immediately. The two women were rather startled to see him! I hopped on and told the ladies to take a seat as well. I circled around a few times to see if anyone else was coming. As we took off, I see two dogs running toward us. The one woman, explained that they were hers. So I landed and had the dogs get on. An told them to get on the dragons tail and wrap their legs around so they wouldn't fall off. Kind of funny, I know.
We took off; gliding over this giant forest. After some time, we came across watch looked like a watchtower. My dragon snagged its skin on the tower as we flew by. And we started to descend. It was almost as if the dragon was like a balloon that was deflating. The last thing I remember thinking is that there was a way to fix it. ....And that's all I remember.

WEIRD.

Another way to make the eyes want to relax is to look up at a 45 degree angle. This is why hypnotists ask to focus on something above the centre of the eye-line and why many transcendental meditation methods do the same.

I have read about that actually. I try that method and it actually strains my eyes. Haha. Maybe I'm just weird. I know a lot of people tend to look upwards when meditating. I look downward.

:-D This works wonders for me. So I wanted to share this technique for those who are having troubles with their eyes opening, tensing, or moving during practice. It will make you quite drowsy.

- Breathe deep with eyes open. Eyes soft. Dont strain.
- Exhale slowly and close your eyes.
- Repeat

This should cause your eyelids to feel heavy after a few repetitions. As you close your eyes, allow gravity to do the work. You will find that as you go the amont that you open your eyes becomes less and less until the eye is fully closed.

Nice and relaxed. Enjoy!

Hello!
I have a bean bag chair for which I use for two things. Meditation and video games!
I, like you, find that I am much more comfortable laying down which really allows me to fully relax and let go. Sitting is great for meditating but for some reason my I find myself drawing attention to my eyes and neck. I guess because my neck is pushed back against the chair? Not sure about the eye thing though. They just feel funny when I'm sitting. Hard to fully relax them. For projection I always do well when I'm laying in my bed. :)
But maybe the chair is the next step? Who knows! Sometimes meditation leads to projection!

You mean... you had a "dream".
That's what a dream is... a projection where you simply don't realize you're projecting.

You ALMOST had it though... you failed your test though.  You didn't focus enough on what you were doing.  That's the key...

Let me carify a bit. I know dreams are projections. However, the key for me is this:
Before I started practicing, my dreams/projections/whatever you want to call them were very vague and abstract. Its much different now. For me, this new feeling of projecting is very different from the feeling of the dreaming I used to know. Its like being awake and asleep at the same time while recalling everything you see in great detail. Also, emotions are no longer a straight wash of happiness or fear. Now I get all the nuances of each thought and feeling just as I would in the pysical.
I guess everyone is different in what they experience.

I questioned it... so I knew something was up. For me, thats close enough.
As you said though, I didn't pass the test.

When I meditate I have these experiences too. Really weird imagery that doesn't make sense. Most of the time its either visuals of people or random close ups of objects like crayons or flowers. Haha.
What I'm trying to say is, it sounds like you are making progress! Which is awesome. Enjoy the ride!
