I have continued my digging into the research of the paranormal and the OBE phenomenon and found the situation to be very poor. There is almost no research being done at the government universitites in the West at all! Not if you compare the research efforts with research of for example psychology.

To summarize the situation:
Quote: "That implies that the entire investment (during the last 100 years) in parapsychological research in the United States is equivalent to less than 2 months research in psychology in 1983."

There are reasons for that and those are great economic interests in certain industries such as the pharmaceutical and military industry. The governemnt universiteties are also very unlikely to support this kind of research due to their unwillingness to revise what is considered to be facts. One fact is: the human consciousness cannot exist outside the brain. If the brain is dead there cannot be a consciousness.

That is of course not true.

This mind boggling experiment done in 1968 points to the fact
that the human consciousness is mobile. It does not have to be
stationary inside the brain but can move around at will. If this is
true the western scientific view of the brain and consciousness
needs to be revised.

This classic research in the 1970s by Dr. David Rosenhan, a Stanford psychologist, illustrates this. Rosenhan and his associates had themselves voluntarily admitted as pseudo-patients. To gain entrance to mental hospitals, they faked symptoms. All twelve were admitted.

Interesting stuff, mythological or not.

I have been reading quite a lot of the teachings of Krishnamurti, the legendary speaker, and the outstanding thinker free of all cultural, religious and philosophical conditionings.

Behind the appearance of this man there where some very mysterious events and movements. One wonders whom he really was and what powers where working behind the curtains. In the end of his life he started to reveal some sources - still using very few words. He could say things like: they carved on this face for centuries, this body is protected by the otherness, I am an experiment never taken place on earth, they will not let me talk about these things, it is too big to explain...

Everybody interested in Krishnamurti biography come across these statements sooner or later. Lately I started to speculate that he actually had co-workers on the other side, meaning individuals in the astral realms. In his early days the theosophical people thought the Lord Maitreya was speaking through him. And what is really interesting is that "K" himself stated that he learnt the technique to travel out-of-the-body (page 73-74, Pupul Jayakar, biography). He also said that he thought the origins of his life one day would be revealed.

It would be interesting to hear some comments on this. Shall we try to find the true sources?

How can I tell the difference between an undependent astral beeing or a projected mind fabricated beeing? And how can I tell the difference between a lucid "local" dream and an astral "outer" plane?

These two questions I can't really answer in a definite and satisfying way. I believe I can see some differences between a lucid dream and astral plane. I am at least begining to be able to distinguish between the two.

It seem like "the way" I get to a certain locale is an important clue. For instance; if getting there is carachterized by a tunnel or elevator like transport experience accompanied by roaring sounds I guess I end up on an astral plane. This should mean that the beeings met there are undependent astral beeings and not projected by my own mind.

I noticed another difference. In an ordinary dream or lucud dream the scene shifting is simple and immediate but the shifting into and between astrals plane are allways through a tunnel or elevator like experience. Do you think these observations are correct?

And concernings beeings; do you think that all beeings met, in whatever locale, are projected by one's own Self, meaning that even so called "Higher Intelligent Entities" are aspects of the Self.

I few days ago I had a lucid dream (?) where I thought it would be okay to fool around a little. But the beeings that I met immediately corrected my behaviour. They acted intelligently, and in co-operation. They were not just ordinary empty "uninterested" dream bodies hanging around in the area. Of course they could be my own minds projections and probably were, but I am not 100% sure.

Please, comment on this. I am eager to hear different views.
