My current beef with the state of healing is that there are so many trademark, registered, full certified 2 day courses in healing that are basically teaching the same energetic principles.  They have been revamped to be either "new, revolutionary and cutting edge" or "ancient secret".  I have no problem with people making money from healing or any other spiritual practices - but I do have a problem with the art of healing itself being hurt.  I've have met more certified, stamp on the hand
"healers"  who couldn't heal a thirsty throat if I handed them a glass of water - no offense intended really - but they just haven't been trained well.
"New" systems like "the reconnection" are basically intuitive healing.  But with a $450 price tag.  Courses like Theta and Vianna Stibal is a true healer, but most of the people who come out lose the essence because they I don't think that the teacher truly explain the principles to them.  In past times healers became good through practice whether or not they were naturals or not.  It was not through some fast track secret techniques.  I encourage everyone to practice healing for themselves but people should not be deluded or "sold' into thinking that they are connected to the master system overnight.  And I'm not even talking about the systems that are downright dodgy.

I reckon in the future we'll be hearing more about kinesiology and although NLP isn't always assoc with spirituality it is a very effective system of helping people to open up to their own spiritual healing and most importantly both these systems put an emphasis on self-responsibility.  Diane Stein I also believe has done a lot of good for the Reiki community with her exposing of many so called "secrets".

What are people's opinions and experiences regarding different energy raising techniques?  For example raising energy up the legs and arms Robert Bruce style; as opposed to meditating directly on the lower storage area to draw in energy; reverse breathing and the condensing breath; or the microcosmic orbit and any others?
Personally I find that I get the same results storage-wise by just holding my mind at my lower storage area, but the NEW system is good for clearing out blockages on the way.  Reverse breath in/condensing feels a bit more powerful and the microcosmic orbit just makes me feel really good.  How about the rest of you?
