Welcome to Out of Body Experiences! / Squeeezing
April 09, 2007, 13:34:29
Hey guys,
I had the most bizarre experience last night while trying to AP shortly after waking up from a dream. I suddenly felt 'pressure' on me, on all sides. Like I was being forced through some kind of tube that was too small. Only it was all over my skin. I felt really 'electric'. But no luck, didn't get out.

Anyone else had this 'squeezing' thing happen before?

Welcome to Dreams! / Have more vivid dreams?
April 06, 2007, 05:02:21
Hey guys,
This question has probably been asked a million times before, and if it has I do apologise lol. But, I was wondering. If any of you had any suggestions on how to have more vivid dreams? Most of my dreams have a habit of being fairly... 'hazy'.

Also, any ideas on why with some of my dreams, they're kind of vivid, but they 'flash' REALLY vivid for only a second or so, but I can never seem to hold it, lucid or otherwise  :-(

Thanks in advance!

Welcome to Out of Body Experiences! / Duality
February 22, 2007, 13:57:49
Hey all,
The other night I was having one of those flying dreams, not lucid or anything, just a normal dream. I was flying over a big city and at some point, I gained lucidity, and my ability to fly just went out the window. I fell, and then everything went black. It was at this point I began to see faces in the darkness, disfigured faces. I mean, really messed up looking. They were talking to me. While I was unable to understand what they were saying, I knew what they meant. They were essentially telling me that Astral Projection was evil and blablabla. I ignored them and pressed on with my desire to project. They vanished and I was suddenly able to feel things again. I could feel my body laying in bed, and... another body laying in bed. Both of which I had control over. Well, I think I had control over anyway. I didn't try to move my 'physical' body out of fear I would 'wake up'. So anyway, Still in this blackness, I tried to move what I thought was my astral arm. I lifted it up, it was so weird feeling this arm and my other arm firmly on my bed at the same time. I couldn't sit up with my astral body, it was too heavy. So I tried to roll out of bed with it instead, and got halfway. It felt like I had a 100kg backpack strapped to me. Every movement required so much effort. Anyway, I lost my concentration for a second and really woke up :(.

At the very least, it was an affirming experience for me, as I have had very limited success since I first started trying at the start of 2006.

So, question time.
1. Is the sluggish body I encountered common?
2. How can I overcome something like that if it happens again?
3. How come I didn't have any vision, and was stuck in this blackness?
4. Any tips/suggestions?

Thanks in advance
- Chris

Welcome to Out of Body Experiences! / Sudden Dread
January 27, 2007, 15:45:40
Hey all, I was trying to AP last night, all the usual things happened after a while and at some point or another I just had this feeling that I was about to get free, when suddenly a sense of dread just came over me, something told me that if I went through with it my body would die and I would be trapped on the AP plane. I guess I just find it frustrating because of how long ive been trying without success, and i thought I'd gotten over that fear of leaving the body. Has this happened to anyone else before? Suggestions?

Ok, so last night, I was pretty tired, and really couldn't be bothered trying to AP. Yet, for some reason, at some point during the night I think I actually did. I dreamt I was in my room. Well, it sort of resembled my room. The basic elements of furniture were there (bed, desk) but there were a few things missing. Anyway, at some point I became lucid and the dream became ultra vivid, like, I could make out the fine details on things and it was almost to the point where I could have mistaken it for "real life". I wasn't doing anything remarkable, just walking around the room, and, yes, putting clothes away. I was affraid that if I tried to do something cool like fly out through the roof or something, I'd lose concentration and snap out of it. So I pottered around the room for a minute, before I decided to venture out into the rest of the house. I put my hand on the door handle, I could actually feel the cool metal, it was amazing, I even became aware of my "astral limbs" so to speak. Like, not my physical limbs, but... you know. Anyway, I opened the door and stepped out into a pitch black hallway. The only light coming from my room behind me, somewhat illuminating the hallway. But the second I stepped out into it, everything became blurry, very blurry and everything went pitch black. Im guessing I woke up at that point, either that or I had another dream that I don't recall. So I guess my question is, would you call this an actual astral experience? Because it was almost as vivid as looking at my computer screen right now, I could feel my limbs, I could feel the environment around me it just didn't last very long.

If it was, then I'd be pretty damm stoked. I've been trying on and off since... Januaryish. So if it was, then this would have been my first actual experience. Not including lucid dreams, and vivid dreams that weren't lucid.

Tips, advice, comments would be appreciated!

Hey all,
Im hoping someone can clear this up for me. Basically, the last few nights, I've been really intently attempting to project, without much success.

BUT

1. Recently, I've had a couple of weird dreams that im not so sure were dreams. In the sense that I could see them with my own eyes. Now, at first I thought it was a deffinete projection. But the thing is, I wasnt fully 'aware' of it. In the sense that I had about as much awareness as you would if you were just normally dreaming.

2. Secondly, I've also had similar experiences, where I've been trying to project, have fallen asleep and then at some point (possibly directly after) I've come awake in the sense that im mentally aware, but not physically, and have seen something through my eyes that I couldnt possibly have seen in my room. Like last night I caught a glimpse of a room with very old looking books, candles and those feather things people used to write with. But just as soon as it was there, it was gone and I woke up.

3. Thirdly, last week sometime, I woke up in the night, and realised that although I could feel my eyes firmly shut I could still see my room, and furthermore, that although I could feel myself laying down I could also feel myself sitting up.

Sorry about the long post guys! But yeah, any ideas? Tips suggestions etc.

Hey all, the other night was the closest I've ever come to having a fully concious OBE. Ok, so here's what happened:
Ok, so I started out in a weird dream, the whole place looked like a scene out of Alice In Wonderland. I dont recall much of it other than I walked up to this gate, which was just gargantuan, at least 5 stories high. Very comical.

It was at that point I became lucid, but instead of just trying to project I tried to see things a little more clearly. I think I was trying to see the dream through my eyes, not my mind (if that makes sense). I tried this for a minute or so with little success (I have done it in the past, almost).

Abandoning that, I went back to the standard projection attempt routine. The Alice In Wonderland scene vanished and was replaced by darkness. It was as if I could feel my physical body while still asleep, it kind of felt 'not normal' somehow. I tried to separate my physical and astral bodies. I got so close! I could feel my physical body laying still while I was moving an arm of some sort (im guessing it was my astral arm), I freed my head too. Meanwhile I kept hearing this weird noise, like a grinding of metal noise.

Then for some reason they snapped back in place and I woke up. But... thats where it gets weird. I think I woke up, but my vision was kinda blurry and my body was so damm sluggish, It was such an effort to roll over. Which is when I noticed a dark 'shadow', more like a cloud or something in the air beside my bed, maybe 1.5 metres away? But I was seeing two of it, like double vision, but only of the shadow thing. I blinked a few times and the shadow was replaced by a body suspended in mid-air looking at me, which scared the absolute crap out of me! Then im not sure what happened next, but the next thing I know, Im facing the other way (horizontally)(as if I had rolled back over) and I was fully awake, able to move and seeing correctly.

Hey all, im back! Not that I ever really left, but I have just been stupidly busy the last few weeks and havent had time to sneak on here. Anyway, that aside, my experience.

Well, I woke up this morning, I was kinda still sleepy so I rolled over and tried to get back to sleep. Next thing I know, I realised that I was actually seeing my dream through my eyes, not like you would imagine something usually in your head.
I got really excited, it was kind of weird though, the actual "dream" itself seemed to be off in the distance surrounded by black, and was kinda blurry.
The next thing, I guess I got a little too excited lost concentration and kinda snapped out of it *sighs*. Still, pretty close eh!

Well.... no, I didnt fully OBE. I was literally one step short. Anyway, heres what happened:

Well, it was early in the evening when the power went off (severe weather). So after a while I got kinda bored. So I thought... why not go have a nap. So I did, I lay down, and then instead decided to try and OBE.

So I didnt bother with the relaxation stuff, and still managed to reach that point where I see the swirling clouds and my whole body goes numb quite easily.
Next, I started sinking further and further (conciously though) into sleep. The next thing I know is a dream is playing, but its totally in my control. So I played around with that for a while before my initial goal came back to mind.
So while in the dream, I... tried to "channel?" myself away from my physical body. (Yes, that sounds retarded, or maybe it doesnt. But if you think it does, then I agree with you and say... I dunno what else to say!)
Anyway, I could feel myself lifting up. Unfortunately I could hold this "lifting" and just sank back into my body (by this stage the dream had sort of changed from being in my "head" to being in my "vision").

So I kept trying for a while, with this dream playing around me (it changed every so often, at one stage I was in some room looking out onto a valley, then the next thing im falling through some tunnel, then im in deep space)

But then it occured to me while I was trying that the power was going to come on at any minute, and no doubt the lights turning back on would wake me up. So I kinda had to edge out of it.

I woke up feeling SO weird. My vision was really glossy, my body felt like jelly, my arms were tingling, and I had no sense of direction (not "where am I" direction, but "what am I doing" direction). So I kinda stumbled around the house for a while, sure enough the power came back on.

So thats my experience! Ill try again when I go to bed later on, hopefully ill have the same success I did earlier! If not better

Peace!

Hey guys, im back! Ok, ill get right to it. So, last night right... er.. this morning actually (up late hehe). Hot night, was kinda hard to get to sleep (aside from the insomnia part too   ) but after... gosh, 2 days without sleep, I was a little tired. Slept ok I guess, I cant remember the dream I was having but I remember at the end of it, where I kinda realised I was dreaming. I was laying in a bed, I couldnt tell you if it was mine or not. But the second I realised I was dreaming I felt myself falling and woke up in bed   . It happened twice that night. Any thoughts?

Ok, so for the last few weeks as I mentioned in my other post ive been trying to have an OBE with little success other than greatly improved dream recall. But that all changed last night. I was determined I was going to get out. So I lay on my bed, went through all that relaxation stuff and all the things you do before hand. Nothing happened, not even vibes. So I rolled over and thought... well... you can OBE through a dream right? So I just started chanting in my head, I will remember, I will become aware and concious, over and over.

So I fall asleep after a while and then I have this dream. Ill spare you the boring details of what it was about lol. But at the end of it, I was in my garage at home, why I dont know. But all of a sudden, awareness rushed over me and I knew I was only dreaming. Bingo! I thought, and had this instinctive urge to fly. Of course, being still in the dream I did.. up. At that moment, I felt my eyes open (any ideas? Astral body's eyes maybe?), I also felt my astral body breaking free of my physical and then everything went black. I was really excited because this was the furthest I'd ever gone. But then.... I could suddenly see myself in the blackness, my crumpled up body on the "ground".. blood.... dead. So, naturally I kinda freaked and then woke up   with my arms and legs tingling like mad, and they kinda felt crooked for a second [shrugs]. So I figure this was just my imagination up to its dirty tricks again! Ahwell, im sure ill get out sooner or later hehe. Damn you imagination!

Welcome to Out of Body Experiences! / Almost there!
January 08, 2006, 03:15:22
Hey everyone,
I'm new here, just thought I'd say hi. Im kinda new to this whole OBE thing, but it really does fascinate me. I've been trying for a couple of weeks every night without much success. Though I have noticed that since I started trying I've dreamt pretty much every night. Which is unusual for me lol.

Last night was probably the closest ive come to having an OBE. My body went numb, I started to feel really light and at one point I could move my hand whilst my physical hand stayed still (im assuming I was moving my "astral" hand). Unfortunately this got me pretty excited and kinda prevented me from going much further lol.

Anyway, just sayin hi. Maybe tomorrow ill be able to post a success story  .
