Hey everyone,

It has been many months since I last posted on this forum. Many of you may recall me as the creator and destroyer of AstralSource.com

I have been practicing OBEs for over 8 years, after having an NDE. After 2 years of diligent practice, I had, maybe, half a dozen experiences. They blew my mind; the most awesome thing I have ever experienced. I then got a little complaisant, cocky actually, and felt I had mastered the technique. Just to let you let you know, my OBEs only happened while sleeping – something to keep in mind while reading my insights below...

Because I stopped practicing, I stopped having OBEs, and my daily life started to consume all of my energy. I returned to practice 2 years ago, on and off, with little success.

Recently I stumbled upon a copy of The Vehram System (vehram.com) stashed away in my backup hard drive. I studied it carefully and have new hope that OBEs are within my grasp again.

I've been working on some fresh interpretations and alternate methods of the Vehram System over the past week.

Before sleep, I reinforced that I would awake numerous times during the night/early morning hours, and it has worked 5 nights in a row. I think this has been successful due to my conviction that the basic concept behind the Vehram System is sound. My intention has powered my subconscious mind to obey my command. Only by studying the System was I able to generate the enthusiasm to produce results. The System is designed that way, and I highly recommend downloading it.

Before sleep last night, while in bed, I picked a position that kept me awake longer, into the hypnogogic stage - better than any other method so far! This is not in the System but something I came across on my own. I'm sure I'm not the first one to discover it. I lay half on my side, half on my back. Not quite cuddled up in the fetal position but halfway relaxed on my side. I didn't stay fully awake, like when lying on my back, or crashed into sleep, like when I'm curled up on my side. I felt that consciousness lasted longer than usual, being more aware of the hypnogogic. I am quite confident that I will be able to select a perfectly balanced body position for prolonging the hypnogogic stage in time.

Following the System, at the right time, when I breathed out, I would relax my body - when I breathed in, I would imagine drawing energy from the Vehram Array.  The Vehram System .pdf download is only ten bucks and well worth it. I have intentionally not given the system away here because the creator deserved the credit and business. The 34 pages of knowledge is tantamount to breakthrough OBE technology!

I will be practicing this new method for the next several weeks and update this post.

I would very much like to discuss the system in detail, via PM, with others who have studied the ebook.

In conclusion, I think approaching an OBE from the hypnogogic window of 3 - 10 seconds, numerous times a night, is so incredibly exciting. Finally, the Zone has been mapped! Gone, for me, are the endless hours of pre-sleep practice sessions, week after week, month after month, year after year!

Hey Mortals,

I'm totally into video games; they're a blast and I have so much fun playing them - been doing so for years.

I just bought a game called http://www.unrealtournament3.com. It's been out for about a year. Here is a screenshot:

It's a fast action, visually stunning game. You are engaged in battle with other players, using different weapons, armor and special power-ups, making you stronger in both offense and defense. There is a choice of several arenas/spaces/maps that you can play in. Each has a different layout. It is recommended that you play a map without opponents, just to get used to traversing the territory, and discover where the different weapons, armor and health power-ups are located. There is a special code you can input that allows you to enter the game as a "ghost" - making it possible to fly and penetrate through walls.

I played the game for several hours a couple of days ago, and then a few hours the next day. That night I had an OBE practice session. It was a very interesting session indeed.

First let me explain the movement within the game. Your character can move forward, backward, sideways, hop, jump, bounce and sometimes soar if you find the special power-up boots. There are stairs and elevator platforms all over the place. After playing for a few hours it's kind of like getting off a boat; perception is a bit wobbly.

When I lay down and experience a light trance, using MAP CD #6 (Mastering Astral Projection CD Companion set - http://www.amazon.com/Mastering-Astral-Projection-CD-Companion/dp/0738710792), and get to the "body loosening" section, I really feel a slight phase shift. This induces vibrations. I have yet to time it out properly. So far the vibrations have occurred before I'm in a deep trance. I have yet to experiment with this method (I call: The UT3 Method), while in a deep trance, using it as an exit method.

I plan to stick to one map, and get to know it intimately, so I can traverse the corridors in my imagination and use it as an exit visualization method, when the time is right.

I'll keep you all posted. Anybody else into video games? Have you experienced similar sensations after playing for several hours?

As I find it challenging to remind myself to do regular Reality Checks throughout the day, I've thought up an idea that may help.

This idea involves giving repeated Reality Checks throughout the day to a small list of people who can receive direct calls on their cell/voice mail/SMS (text message).

I am limiting this little experiment to the first 5 people who show interest. I have SkypeOut and can call North American cell phones for free and leave Text Messages for super cheap. When you agree to participate you will not have to spend one dime (except if it costs you to receive calls on your cell, answer voice mail or check your Text Messages).

A typical day will include you answering a morning message (either voice mail or SMS or both). I will make the call sometime between 4 - 5am PST. I will just give you a nudge for the start of your day; something like, "You will do numerous Reality Checks throughout the day."

Then, throughout the day, there will be several calls to your cell phone, which you may answer live, or let them go to voice mail. I may send an SMS. It may be something like this, "Look at your surroundings. Examine them carefully. Look for any signs that it may be a dream. Is it a dream? Are your dreaming right now?"

Due to my schedule throughout a typical day, the longest time between messages will be 4 hours. I will attempt to make 4 - 6 connections with you each day, maybe more if this method proves popular.

What I gain for helping you out is the opportunity to do Reality Checks regularly throughout the day as I will be heeding my own words to you.

All you need do is give me your first name, email address and cell number. I will keep all this data in the strictest confidence and share it with nobody.

I'm looking forward to this program and I'm quite confident that 5 eager Lucid Dream enthusiasts will sign up right away.

Be well,

Don

Hey everyone,

I just finished taking the Online Course - Hall of Learning, Practical Astral Projection Intensive – PAPI . And it was AWESOME!

You can find out more about the program and sign up at:

http://astraldynamics.com/workshops/index.asp?BoardID=120

I have been at this OBE thing for about 7 years. After 2 years of diligent practice I had about 6 spontaneous projections, during sleep, over a period of 1 year. I then became complacent and stopped practicing. Another couple of years passed and I yearned for being out of body again enough to start practicing. I read lots of books and started the Mastering Astral Projection 90 day guide book. I began practicing again in earnest. I also bought the MAP CD Companion - 6 CD set (much more comprehensive than the CD that comes with the MAP book).

Then I signed up for PAPI. The beauty of the course is that I was able to ask the experts direct questions with detailed follow-up questions using the excellent private forum and chat programs available to members only. I was able to tweak my practice and discover exactly where I needed to focus my attention. The teachers, Robert Bruce and Bob & Marina Felix were always available. Their varied experience provided a three-prong attack to tackle the issues I was having.

There were about 2 dozen students and it was a joy to read some tangible posts of successful OBEs as a direct result of participation in PAPI. Also, there were 10 units that spanned over the 5 week program that included recommended reading, fantastic videos and suggested practice sessions. What was great about the videos was that I was able to revisit the material that I needed to hear more than once as the program played out.

If you are new to astral projection or have been at it for a while, like me, I would highly recommend this course. I have been participating in forums and own almost every book or CD out there on the subject and PAPI has been the best education by far.

If you have any direct questions about the course and want to ask someone who has taken it, just post on this thread and I'll do my best to answer you.

Finally, I am also signed up for their Graduate Course which allows me to stay in contact with the Teachers as I continue to progress. Follow-up after any type of workshop I've taken has always been lacking so it's terrific to have a follow-up program to participate in.

Be well,

Don

I am getting better at entering the trance state, where I no longer feel the parameters of the physical body. Soon after I get a slight falling sensation where I feel I fall about 3 inches into the bed. At that point, my mind becomes more awake/conscious, and I become aware of my physical body once again, and I feel the projection process has been truncated. My question is, what can I do to get past becoming so alert when the falling feeling comes on?

Any insight anyone has is greatly appreciated.

Greetings,

I have lived in Vancouver, Canada, most of my life. That is where Eckhart Tolle has resided for the past 10 years or so. He wrote his book, The Power of Now, about 8 years ago. I was involved in a spiritual group at that time and his book, The Power of Now, was part of our discussions.

I was waiting for my vehicle to be serviced two days ago, just hanging out at the mall, when I was guided to the bookstore with the purpose of purchasing his new book, A New Earth. If you have not read it, and are interested in the spiritual path, I highly recommend it. I strongly believe there is direct connection to the astral body/out-of-body experience. This post will address it.

I dove right into the book and by the next afternoon had completed the 300 or so pages. It was transformational.

The idea of our ego being completely absorbed in the past and the future made total sense. The challenge to live in the present moment was clear. The past conglomeration of all that makes up who we think we are, ego, he makes reference to when talking about the pain-body. I could totally relate to that idea. The ego's obsession with the future is equally understandable. The ego is quite threatened by Being in the present moment; it loses it's opportunity to identify with anything when consciousness focuses on the here and the now, just as it is, with total acceptance and void of thought. The pain-body is filled with energy. When one is living in the moment, the energy of the pain-body transforms into Presence.

I have been working with the book, Mastering Astral Projection, by Robert Bruce and Brian Mercer, and have been quite in touch with the inner body awareness or the subtle body or energy body. I am now on Week 6 of the workbook. With this new found energy, from negating the pain-body story, immense energy has been transferred to the subtle body structure. Instead of feeling energy in just my hands or legs or heart center, I have become aware of the tangible sensation of energy within my entire body. But it goes further.

As described in Eckhart's book, when we look at the night sky and see the stars, there is also an immense amount of empty space. That vast space is the infinite un-manifest. It can be Felt as consciousness through awareness. By living in the moment, the ego dissolves because our Attention is focused on Now. What experiences the present moment, is the awareness of being aware. Our identification is with the awareness and awareness or consciousness is the totality of empty space. We become that space, that awareness, that consciousness, and not the ego; who we think we are. The I AM is who we truly are.

Taking this concept of empty space one step further, our bodies, and all matter, are actually made up primarily of empty space. The atom, the space within the atom and all the space around the atom is made up of space. Our bodies are 99.99% space. So matter is merely the manifest; behind all matter is infinite un-manifest, space. So if we can live in the moment and fully identify with the space within us, and in all things, and in the endless universe, and relate to that, and not the small ego and its story, we connect with the whole; that which we are in reality - the infinite eternal.

Time is also an illusion; past and future are only constructs the mind creates. Everything is actually happening in the present moment, the eternal now.

The infinite eternal is the ultimate answer when asked, "Who Am I?"

This is the nutshell of what I have grasped by reading the book. Of course Eckhart Tolle describes it in a clear and thorough fashion, with elegance and intelligence. If the words you have read in my post have triggered interest, I strongly suggest you get the book. Read it and come back here for discussion. Ultimately, we can use the concepts in the book to address the out-of-body state and the elements of consciousness.

Be well,

Don

Welcome to Dreams! / Virtual Sticky Notes

Virtual Sticky Notes:

http://www.freedownloadscenter.com/Information_Management/Notes_Management_Tools/Sticker_Lite__Sticky_Notes_Free_.html

The link above will take you to a freeware program you can download and install. Create a new sticky note and Lock it, so it is always covering your screen no matter what program you have open. I have 2 on my screen, one yellow, one green. I have typed, "I remember now" on one and "Am I dreaming?" on the other, without quotes. I have selected 24 font so it fills the box.

I make sure that everytime I have to drag/move a note, to see what is behind it - which is often - I take time to READ IT. Not only do I READ IT but I understand it. I put some thought energy into it. I imagine that I am in a dream and reading it. I imagine the dramatic REALIZATION of "getting it" and becoming lucid. A reality check is only good if you really play the part. If you just mouth the words without any feeling or emotion, it is useless.

Furthermore, change the font type and size once a week, and the background color.

The brain takes NEW information as requiring analysis. Any input that it knows, will be quickly overlooked, but NEW items in the environment require careful analysis. That's the theory.

Hey again,

So this is why I called myself OBEvideoguy. Yes, I've edited another video interview, this time with Bob Felix who was an audio engineer for The Monroe Institue that created the Hemi-Sync series for helping the brain (I can't explain it like him; just check out the interview).

Hey everyone,

Two years ago I attended a Robert Bruce workshop in Vancouver, Canada - where I live. As I was very new to the subject, I learned a great deal and was thankful to meet the man who wrote the book I was studying: Astral Dynamics.

Well about a year ago, video camera in hand, I travelled to another of Robert's workshops, this time in North Carolina. I had arranged, via email, to interview Robert at the end of the workshop, which is exactly what I did.

I arrived home with the DV (digital video) tapes safely tucked away in my napsack. I was ready to edit up a masterpiece for the whole OBE Online community to enjoy. Well, at that time my computer was not powerful enough, my hard drive was too small and the video hardware (capture card) was not working properly. I struggled to no avail. Weeks of frustration ended my prize project. Professional production costs were prohibative at the time so I put the tapes away in a box and forgot about it.

Until now. It just occurred to me to give it another try. I had recently purchased a top of the line computer with blazing fast dual processors, a 512MB video card, two massive hard drives and a new external video capture card with software. And everything worked like clockwork. Meant to be. Perfect timing. And now, with Robert's blessings, I unleash this creation, for your education and enjoyment.

Hey everyone,

I just posted this on the general OBE page:

http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/welcome_to_obe_discussions/buddy_system_available-t27190.0.html

Check it out. It's my little idea of a buddy system and I'll be following the book by Brian Mercer about having an OBE in 90 days.

Hey everyone,

I am working on a structure for learning and practicing how to have successful, memorable OBEs. This involves study of books and programs I have acquired and a daily, weekly, monthly plan. I have a goal in mind and figured that others might have the same sort of goals too.

If you are interested in following a structure and be held accountable via the buddy system, please contact me. An online dictionary describes "buddy system" as:

a procedure in which two people, the buddies, operate together as a single unit so that they are able to monitor and help each other...

If you agree, we would start February 1st, 2008. Mastering Astral Projection and Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming will be the books we will use as structural guides. There will no fee for this course. If more than one person, and myself, show interest, this would turn out to be lots of fun. I plan on using message board technology, Skype voice communication, email and website updates.

We will help each other achieve our goals. This will also involve the cultivation of Lucid Dreams.

Be well,

Don Parker

Hi, I am currently working on a documentary about NDEs, out-of-body experiences and lucid dreaming.

This may sound a bit odd, but I was wanting to volunteer to have a team of medical professionals stop my heart for two minutes and then bring me back to life, as part of the documentary. I would then see if I passed some tests and talk about my experiences while being brain dead for two minutes. I think it would be riviting televsion.

Do you think there is a way to actually do this or are there so many laws that would prohibit this from happening. Looking forward to your reply.

I've just been introduced to phasing by interviewing "knightlight". The interview is up on my site. I think the concept is valid. One thing I've been doing for so many years, litterally, is focusing on my body, awaiting the vibrations. Because all of my focus was on my body, of course I could not project.

With phasing, as I understand it, you totally relax, then focus your attention on the blackness in front and all around you. That is where your attention goes. No focus on the physical body. From there you wait for hypnogogic imagery to appear. When that happens you are in the right stage to begin what is know as the run-down. That means a typical activity you enjoy. Like for me I imagine myself swinging on a swing. Now the way it works is, your attention is so focused on this new scene that you fall right into it, as if it was a lucid dream. It will be that real.

Well I'm working on practising it so I'll keep you posted here.

Hi everyone,

I would like to put some video interveiws with OBE experts on my website. Do you consider yourself proficient at having OBEs on command? I want to interview you. What you will need to do is get a video camera, either borrow or rent a DV camera, and set it up facing you. Then I'll phone you and ask you questions on the phone. You repeat those questions for the viewing audience and take your time answering. The video may be up to an hour long depending on the questions and answers. I will put a link to your website if you have one or books or articles you've written.

Looking forward to some inquiries. Just PM me on this board if you are interested in being interviewed.
