Well, as a new member, I am learning new things about this website every day! Today I just learned about the "SEARCH" feature on the forum.
Looks like I was right, this has been brought up before, in "Proof Of OBE - and/or - How to Win 1 Milion $", and there has been close to a hundred replies.
Now, I guess I'll simply find the answers before I ask the questions!  I guess I just want so badly to be out of th "Starting Member" category.

Sounds to me like you had a false awakening. They always feel realistic. You thought you had woken up. You knew you were awake, but the bed was ice. Ofcourse it would be confusing. But the answer is simple. Your not awake at all.
If you find yourself in this situation again, perform a few reality checks. False awakenings are cool things to induce lucid dreams from.

Sounds like yuo were in the projection process- some sort of astral sight was opened, and you were clearing the pathways for 'takeoff'
