Hey everyone. My name is Erica. I just started attempting projections about 3 months ago. I became interested in OBEs after I started experiencing "seeing through my eyelids" (for lack of better way to explain), where I'd wake up in the morning and start drifting back to sleep but then I'd feel as though I was looking around the room even though my eyes were shut. When I read up about this and found out it had to do with astral projection, I started attempting concious OBEs and I've had a couple very short ones, and today was my longest.
The first 2 I had, I would begin to drift off and feel vibrations, and hear sounds, then I would sit up, look around my room, get scared (no idea why either, I'm trying to work on controlling that now), and wake back up. Today I was taking a nap when I finally had an OBE in which I made it out of my bedroom. When I sat up (while out of body), my legs and arms felt really tingly and heavy, but I thought to myself well its probably just going to last a little bit I'll try to get up anyways. I got up and started walking down the hall of my house, but it felt almost impossible to walk. Lifting my arms was a serious task, and taking a step was even harder. I finally made it down the hall, and decided I had better go back to my body because I didn't know if that feeling was a bad sign. When I got back to my body, I was thinking "okay wake up now" but I couldn't open my eyes. I couldn't move at all actually and I started getting worried. Finally the dog next door barked and I woke up fully.
Is it bad that my limbs felt so heavy? Is that a common occurence, or does anyone know what causes it? I read a little about sleep paralysis just now and I'm assuming thats what happened when I couldn't open my eyes or move, but I couldn't find anything about the heavy limbs. Any answers/ideas would be great. Thanks!! :-)
