Once again I have to thank Robert for the wonderful book I picked up. I am up to page 367 and man, I will have to write him a personal letter one day soon as there are so many things he writes about that I have experienced first hand that I have to digest and contemplate over now. I wrote it off as fanciful events in the past, now I am seeing a more definate pattern I want to explore further.

With that said, I have had waking lucid dreaming while at work or in public places like on a bus or such. Sometimes I have startled myself when 'snapping to' for I didn't realize I was going out so far into the dream.
The most odd coincidental one was one that occurred on Sept 10th, 2001.
You probably know where this is going...

I was sitting at my desk at work. I work for the largest phone company in the tri-state area. It was 1:30 pm. I have always had the habit of zoning out into a trance, (I think the book says this is a bad thing?), and coming up with some wild scenarios. Every now and then the zoning would easily becoming daydream and then finally lucid, with sound and smell, etc. On this day I found myself sitting on train going from Newark into NYC. It was real, could feel the motion of the train etc. As we were going into the city, this guy asks me, "Want to see something neat?" as he opens a laptop on his lap. I reply to him, "Sure, whatdya got?" He proceeds to pull out a cellphone with an antennae as well and says, "With this I can control any plane in the sky..."
I begin to laugh and say, "Oh really?" and he smiles and laughingly says, "Oh yes, it's very simple...I show you." And the next thing I know, and reality distorts here for if you've ever taken the train or path into the city to Penn station, you know it goes underground, I see a plane heading for NYC. Then I project from the train to the city street about 10 blocks from the World Trade Center and witness a 747 or whatever crash into it.

Now, whether you believe me or not, I couldn't care less. The fact is it happened in real life unfortunately and I do have a witness to my statement above. He was sitting in front of me and as I was having this Lucid episode, at the EXACT moment that I saw the plane crashing into the building, he made a whistling noise that had a double whistle to it and the pitch and rise was the sound that you hear when a plane (decelerate?) for landing. The rising, high pitch sound. I jumped in my seat, literally, and the girl next to me said, "ARE YOU OK? What'd you see now?" (She knew about other events similar to this and more). I told her that I had a very weird daydream and startled myself. I then went to the desk ahead of me and said to him, "Hey Ron, what made you whistle like that? How'd you do that?" He laughed and said when he was a kid, he was always whistling, and got good when he went to ballgames and such. I asked how he double whistled and he did it again and I tapped him on the arm and said, "Dude, you scared the crap out of me, I was imagining a plane crashing over NYC and you made that sound at the same time...it made it SO REAL!" He laughed and said, "Sorry, thought you were working, not daydreaming..." and we laughed it off.

Until the next day... We watched in horror the entire day on multiple big screen televisions. Our work center looks like Nasa actually, exactly like you see on TV. Called a N.O.C. (Network Operation Center) that survails many states at once. As we were watching he comes up to me and says, "Remember what you told me?" and I said, "Unfortunately I do..."

Had to share this one because it was that real. However, the experience of thinking about and then seeing or hearing something I was thinking about the same or very next day is not uncommon to me. I get it on a regular basis when I take a long meditative shower in the morning. That's more precog however.

Thanks for letting me share...

Well, most of my experiences happen between 4:00am and 6:00am.  This is due to the fact that those times are when I start to gain consciousness after sleeping for awhile.  I've had OBE's at all hours of the day, but most happen in that time window for me.

And location as well, (what area of home, floor/bed/chair, and facing direction N/S/E/W)?

I used to think that the direction my head was facing while sleeping played a role in my projections, but after studying my own experiences, I have concluded that this isn't a factor for me.  I've projected facing in every possible direction.  Right now, my head points south when I sleep, and I've been having a lot of experiences lately.  I know that some books have suggested that you should face north to south, but I don't see any evidence showing that this is better than any other position.

Gee Oahn,
Not sure I totally "get" a full understanding of your post, but here is what I have experienced. I have been in the checkout line and looked around at many others with gloom looks on their faces. I began to send "love" and "joy" thought forms  to them. Immediately, little smiles appeared on their faces the whole mood lightened, and the checkout girl quickly looked at me with a startled, surprised look on her face, after which she became a little wary.
I have been in the public library and "sent" the thought form "love" to a small girl of about six, she stumbled backward (smiling at me the whole while), and fell down, oops! Her mother gave her a hand back up.
I have gone into a light meditation and found myself attending a healing session. The patient was on a raised bed like chiropractors use and the healer was standing, working over her directing energy. There were two others in the room, we were giving our energy to the healer. That afternoon on our e-group, the patient discribed how the healer had told her that there was a "Donna" present in spirit during this session. This healing session had occured several days before, yet I had only found myself there "that day", several hours before she posted her report..I have proved that there is "no time" in the astral, as all times can be "now" by having joint meetings in the real time plane near Earth when everyone has come together from different time zones and not specifying a joint timing, only a general "tonight" we will meet at ......
I hope this is what you are discussing, if not, forgive this reply.

Good post, Oahn.  Having a strong intent befor projecting is a key element to a successful projection.  And like you said, sometimes speaking our intentions outloud beforehand can be enough to instill something in our subconscious mind which will help us 'get out.'

As you'll hear from a lot of people on this forum, the main difference between a dream, a lucid dream, and an OBE/AP is your level of awareness.

If you have a litte bit of awareness, then it seems your imagination fills in a lot of the detail/environment.  However, the more lucid you become, and the more awarenss you're able to harness, the more you can control the experience and travel to real astral realms.  When that happens, you're imagination doesn't seem to create as much around you (unless you allow it to).

It reminds me of a fish in water.  If you put a fish in water, it will naturally swim...unless you trap it on all sides.  Your imagination, by nature, will wander and start creating all sorts of things, which is why you find yourself going from scene to scene in all kinds of dreams.  When you gain your full awareness, you more or less harness the imagination and become more stable.

So to answer your question, was this experience some sort of an OBE?  I would rephrase that to say, "Did I have the same awareness in this experience as I would have in an OBE?"  Only you could answer that one, my friend.

Hi there Oahn....

Welcome to the board.  You're post was very entertaining to read.  Let me ask you, did you do anything in particular to awaken your kundalini?  For example, were you constantly doing energy raising exercises?  Or did it just come up and hit you upside the head like a bum in San Fransisco?
