I have a strange dream to share with you all.
So it starts with me hiding out in this strange house. It turns out I took, possess, or stole something very important on a dare from this girl that I've never met outside of my dreams. This girl has been in other dreams as well. She tricked me into stealing something for her, and I wound up at this house that was a collective melting pot of all the homes I've lived in in my life. It had for instance the fireplace of the house I roomed in with a couple of close friends, my mom's kitchen, my childhood bedroom, so on and so forth. It was a rather comforting place. At first it was the girls voice talking to me in my dream. Telling me that something was coming for me, and then it slowly changed into my own voice mixed with several other disembodied masculine voices taunting me. They were accusing me of being afraid of retribution. They told me I was afraid of what was outside. They told me I couldn't even look out the window because I was too scared. I told them I wasn't scared and approached the blinds, and when I pulled them apart another me was standing outside the window only his skin was grey or very pale and his irises were red. Our eyes met and I suddenly couldn't move or pull my eyes away from my doppleganger's. I felt like something was taking over my body at this point. Like I wasn't in control of my motor functions. As if I were fighting something for control. The other me's eyes started glowing with a bright white light that started dim at first but increased in intensity until I was momentarily blinded. When I could see again I noticed a mid-size dog that looked like a fully black doberman pincher. It was kind of small, however, only about the size of a larger five year old. I noticed in the dream taht it had alarmingly large testicles. The dog paced around my head a couple of times before it walked around and climbed onto my chest where it sat. The dog stared into my eyes and it had red irises. I felt once again like something was creeping into my mind. I tried to move, but it was really hard. I felt completely paralyzed, but I concentrated on my body until finally I brought my arms around its neck. I could feel the dog's breathe on my neck and the wetness of its mouth, the claws on its paws as it tried to kick away from me. All like it was really happening. I kept crushing it until I felt its ribs and neck snapping. I woke up still in that moment clutching a dog-sized gap of nothing to my chest. I looked around to see if maybe an animal had gotten into the house and into my bedroom, but I couldn't find a corpse or anything. I was totally convinced for a long time that I had killed something in my room, but nothing ever came up...
Anyway, I did some reading afterwards and learned that sleep paralysis is thought to be caused by a demon sitting on your chest in some folklore. Anybody have any thoughts? Seems kinda creepy.
According to Wikipedia a culture of people called the Hmong actually have vast number of sleep paralysis related deaths. Weird?
