wow. harsh. i guess my first bit of advice would be relax. you changed one right (your crush not commiting suicide)? so you can change others. this can be a gift if you let it be.

i have had some visions, not good ones either, but i will face up to them when the time comes and i will not let them happen. if i can change the outcome i will. and i already know from experience that the future isn't set in stone; visions of the future are only how the future is going to turn out if things continue happening as they are. the future can be changed.

you can also learn to control them. focus on certain things and try to "see" or "feel" into their future. then you should be able to do the opposite as well and block out visions that you don't want to see. it won't happen overnight (or maybe it will) but i strongly suggest that all people who naturally develop abilities like ours (ours as in many on this board and others like us) should learn to control them, rather than let their lives be run in chaos by them.

and lastly, hate to nag but would there be any way that you could let me know the name of the last person(s) i'm supposed to meet? i know it's a long shot, but i've been wanting to know for years now.

please reply, even if you don't have an answer for me. thanks [:)]

Hi Newbie!

My best advice is to start reading the archives on this forum - - - there is a wealth of information here, and it's free!!  Click on "search" and put in your topic, and see what pops upl.  (hint:  try "Frank").

Just know that it takes time.  "A few months" is just a blink.  There are people on this forum who have been working on OBE for years!

Also, if you can spend the $$$, Astral Dynamics is a great book.

happy travels,

Tisha

Welcome to Astral Chat! / How can NEW help OBE?
November 24, 2002, 21:07:56
By queiting the mind and helping you bring on a trance state, by putting energy into your subtle bodies/chakra system, however at some point you have to get your focus outside your body.

I've never had any OOBEs either, nor have I used NEW (though I have mingled in some parts of the guide, and done one stimulation exercise or two).

Here's my two-cents:

The NEW techniques stimulate and develop your chakra system and hence increase your energy level. My two observations on behalf of what I have seen in statements made by others is that the chakra meditation, while in the Trance state, can induce vibrations, which can... *GASP* LEAD TO an AP <=D

But the hard part is getting to the trance state, and/or holding it. Believe me, I'm no newcomer, and I'm having the hardest predicament with this situation.

Energy is food to your Etheric Body. You know how you need Food to give you energy, so you can function properly? The same logic applies to the AP / OOBE body. Without this "Etheric Food", you'll encounter various annoying little problems tying into Astral Sight, Movement, and Memory Recall (after the AP experience). I've also heard that Energy Raising provokes Lucid Dreaming, another gateway into the Astral Dimension.

Welcome to Out of Body Experiences! / What is ROPE?
November 24, 2002, 19:26:33
Check Robert Bruce's online "Treatise on Astral Projection", which most of us read before coming here (I notice a lot of newcomers found there way here without having heard of NEW or the Treatise, where did you link to here from?).
Part 5 in particular has the Rope technique:  http://www.tower.net.au/~rsb/guides/oobe/oobe_5.htm
You may be better off reading the whole thing in the order it was intended, starting with http://www.tower.net.au/~rsb/guides/oobe/oobe.htm
When you're done there, check out the online guide for N.E.W.:  http://www.tower.net.au/~rsb/guides/new/new.htm

All newcomers should read these first, because most of what you're likely to ask is already covered in there.

Difficulties, yes, very normal. Sometimes it can take years before you achieve the correct degree of understanding. I suppose one day someone will invent a pill for it, but for now it takes lots of practice. Perhaps the realisation that you project every night in your sleep may help you. In the sense that it's not a question of you not being able to leave your body. The real question is, how can you be mentally awake and alert while you do so.

For a number of basic, more traditional AP techniques the book Astral Dynamics is the current number one. For info on the (some say easier) more modern day Phasing approach then Bruce Moen's work I'm sure will offer you some pointers. As will a search through this BBS.

You didn't say in your post what it was you wanted to do, exactly. Naturally, I read what you say about wanting to leave your physical body. But to go where? Is what I am asking. Reason why I ask is because Intent is a strong driving force within the Astral. If you could please fill me in a little more as to who, or where, it is you are trying to connect then I'm sure I could advise further.

Yours,
Frank
