Welcome to Out of Body Experiences! / Questions
September 19, 2010, 13:32:26
Hello All

I've been a somewhat long time member on the forums and I kind of drift in and out of different posts. I think this is the second time i've actually had some questions. I recently moved and when I first moved I did not have any OBE's for quite some time. In the past two weeks or so I have had several. I feel the actual separation from my feet to my head. The strange thing is when I "disconnect" from my body the environment outside of my direct room is that of my old house location. I was wondering if it actually takes our body time to adjust to the new locale? Any tips or recommendations is appreciated--as it is not hard for me to leave my body at will in the morning after a full nights rest. Thank you

Hello everyone. I've been posting here on and off probably for a year. From previous posts people claim I am very adept at having natural OBE's frequently. I have been super busy with life and have not been able to practice/project much. This is because of how hectic ive been at school and work mostly. There are two things I wanted to ask today:

1) Do you have moments in your life where things are just to busy to keep projecting? I have spontaneous OBE's still but my overall number of OBE's have decreased because the lack of induced ones. Do you feel like when you don't have an OBE for quite some time you have to *relearn* things in the astral? I feel that way...

2) My "exits" have always been quite interesting. The exit of my body is always very memorable but the return is not memorable at all. If i don't"return" properly though I wake up to quite a bit of hypnopompic/hypnogogic hallucinations and buzzing noises. My question is actually if anyone else experiences similar separation as I do. Usually when I leave my body I feel my feet float up first and I see them disjoin from my physical body. Then the rest of my body floats upwards and basically my astral body will be facing 90 degrees upwards before my "head" disjoins. It is quite interesting. At that moment I send a trigger to cause the actual separation. If this "disjoint" is quick, then I will usually fly right out of the house, but if it is slow then I usually have much more control over where I first start out. I have had many other ways to leave my body such as visualization etc but this one seems the most common with me. I woke up several times today in the morning and thought to myself "Ya know what, I havnt forced an OBE in quite some time". So I laid on my back and induced the one I had at 11:04am.

I notice my "skills" deteriorate so to say, if I dont have OBE's regularly and that I have to relearn things after I separate completely. Anyone else experience similar sensations/feelings? Thanks.

Has anyone else ever felt an actual connection between the heart in your physical body while you are Out of Body? There have been several instances where when I was in my astral body I had the feeling that i was monitoring my own physical heartbeat and even controlling my breathing of my physical body in a trance like state.

Welcome to Dreams! / Opinion on a dream log
October 28, 2008, 01:29:12
I had a dream on 8/27/08 that I would be willing to share and would like some interpretation on. I have heard some other individuals who have experienced OBE's hear of "the horizon" or "horizon". I wanted some feedback if possible. I am quite adept at OBE's according to others and would enjoy some feedback on this lucid dream. Thank you!

8/27/2008

There was a dream that occurred around 9:30am that was of enough significance to write down. I consider it a lucid dream as I was having interactions with a dark toned girl and a school bus full of children. I remember in the dream only a few of the kids actually saw me. It felt as if I was living a parallel life as another school boy. I remember saying to the children that saw me that "I had been here many times before and I am trying to find a way off the bus"... I ended up getting off the bus with the dark toned girl and approaching her house. I was welcomed inside by her mother (who also saw me). The mother said I could do many things and I would soon learn how to fly and she told me to start researching "The Horizon". I couldn't read the address properly in front of the house (there was a piece of slate that had the address written on it). I tried touching it but I seemed blocked by some force. I asked the girl before I got off the bus what the address was because I wanted proof of the experience. She said the road was Mary May Ridge (or Rd.). I remember the door to their house was wooden and had some sort of symbols on it. It was a dark cherry wood color. I asked the mother what the full address was to the residency and she told me 9. Mary May Ridge. I found this lucid dream of enough importance to write it down. I will do some research on both "The Horizon" and this address to see if I can get any leads. I did not get the mothers name but I felt at peace inside the house. This experience had some vividness of being an OBE but no feeling of separation between my body. I am not sure what to make out of this experience yet. It seems I am having problems reading signs and other guideposts within any of my OBE's or lucid dreams. Maybe the address was not an address but significant of someone's name?

I induced an OBE this morning, as I can usually do by laying on my back after waking up several times. This morning however was a bit peculiar. I had no problems separating from my physical body this morning to wander my house. The house was set up differently this time however. For example, our living room was in our current bedroom and our kitchen was in our living room. The walls were painted different colors so I am assuming my experience had many dream elements. Everything was in vivid colors and it felt like our house was at an "older" time. There was no TV's etc and the lamps were completely different.

The really odd thing, which i'd like some opinions on, is that when I awoke I was breathing pretty heavily. I (believe) a hypnogogic hallucination occurred because when I was  breathing out I could see these small black particles exiting my physical body and going towards my ceiling. Eventually it stopped, but they dispersed towards my ceiling each time i would exhale. I've had strange things happen when I had problems awaking from my OBE but nothing like this. I would also like to note that I stayed out-of-body a lot longer than I usually do. It reminded me of the movie "Green Mile" where the one guy sucks the sins/injuries out of people and it appears like black dots.

Does anyone have any opinions on this? I am only reporting what I had experienced and am hoping I can get some open minded opinions without thinking I am crazy. Thank you.

I have been looking for a community to open up to regarding my personal experiences with OBE's. I'd first like to give a little history about myself.

I have had insomnia since the age of 12 (chronic). I have had sleep studies done and doctors were never able to really determine why I cannot sleep correctly. I have been on medication on and off since that age. My first experiences did not occur until I was around 16 years old. I am 22 now.

My first few experiences scared me entirely. They were extremely vivid and I could only travel as far as my memory had served me. For example, I could only go down the street as far as my memory recalled each detail of trees, houses, etc. I could remember seeing the dew off of leaves and remembering how realistic it felt. The only way I have ever been able to have these experiences is when I lay on my back trying to fall asleep. I never am able to sleep on my back so that is why I believe they occur. I have induced them by laying on my back when trying to project.

It is also important to note I believe that I started having hypnogogic hallucinations around the age of 16 as well. Some of my dream-elements would be portrayed on my walls when I would wake up. I would actually get up out of my bed and chase after these to confirm if it was real or not. They first occurred when I was on Ambien. Ambien stopped working in terms of helping with my sleep and the OBE's subsided for a few years. Within the past few years I began having them again and tried learning from them each time. I have more recently began looking back at my body while I project.

I can best describe my experiences occurring without any sense of vibrations as other people note. I feel a slight "shift" between my physical body and I often look down at my lower torso when they begin to occur and see a transparent copy of myself raising from my physical body. I have also seen through my eyelids a few times to a fixed object (such as a clock) when they occur. I also feel a slight sensation when I want to return to my body. I noticed they often occur when I am slowing down my breathing as well when laying on my back. I often wake up 5-6 times a night and get a drink so I feel that is also part of the reason i am subjected to them.

I do not have extremely vivid ones like I did back when I was 16. I think that they are happening more naturally now, as I do not take very much in terms of medication to sleep. They always occur now after I have had a full nights rest and when I am tossing in/out of sleep between 10am-noon.

I believe I have encountered some kind of spirit before above my house that have stopped me from projecting further. I am not really sure how to explain the presence. Although the presence for some reason resembles a female. I also began writing some of my more recent experiences on paper after they happen. I have also had a few experiences where it has felt like I was just getting "Sucked" up into the sky without any control. Out of fear I returned to my body and awakened.

I am kind of curious with my history, what methods anyone could suggest for trying to induce these before I go to sleep or during mid-day. I have heard of meditation techniques to induce these but I am not exactly sure which direction to go. I was wondering based on my explanation here if anyone could point me in the right direction. Like I said, I have never experienced these "vibrations", it has just always felt like a "shift" between one body and another. I am usually flying when these occur and not walking. As I have said earlier, as of recently I have been able to gain some control and turn around to look at my physical body laying back in bed. I have not however, been able to get complete control over destinations where I travel. I would say that I may have 1-2 projections every two weeks, although they can be very short, and most of them occur without intent.

Thank you :)

Here is an example of one of my more recent experiences...

About a month ago my cat of 15 years old died. Her name was Bootsy and she was a great cat. She was inbred and was a bit on the crazy side. After she died and returned home we I had to go buy a plastic container to bury her in outside in our Yard. We had always intended to bury our cats once they died in a place outside near our garage. Our other cat is still living. After she died a few nights later I had a OBE that I did not induce. The first thing I wanted to do was visit bootsy's grave. My body shifted upwards and to the left. I began making my way through our hallway of our house and into the living room. The atmosphere during this particular experience was not very vivid. It was a very monochrome experience until I went outside. I went through the wall of our living room and outside. I saw our green grass and the hill that led to our garage. I ventured to the back of the garage and saw bootsy's grave site. It was marked with a rock and flowers in which we laid down when she died. The interesting thing about this entire OBE was the fact that when I reached my cat's grave site it was illuminated entirely in purple. I could not even see the rock, all I could see was a bright purple cloud. I researched this thoroughly and came to the conclusion that the color purple represented "mourning" in terms of Christianity. I quickly returned to my body and forced myself awake after being content with my experience.
