My my...this place has changed a fair bit since I last was here...

Ok, on to my point. Those of you who know me, well, nice to see you again. For everybody else, hi.

*ahem*

I've had an acute phobia of aliens since I was young. Very young. I absolutely loathe them. If any of you have a phobia of anything, I'm sure you can at least relate a little bit to the intense absolute dread and loathing of the thing you have a phobia of.

And by aliens I mean big headed, 3ft tall, big eyed, grey skinned aliens known commonly throughout pulp culture as "Grays," "Greys," or "Zetas."

I hate them. I hate everything about them, every story, every person that ever says they are good or friendly beings is a fool.

I have a copy of Robert Bruce's Practicaly Psychic Self-Defense, and I believe that although it may have been a catylist for my intense fear of sleep paralysis, and hence projection itself, nothing frightened me more from that book than, you guessed it, more proof of aliens than I have ever encountered.

He proved my speculation all along, that these "Grays" are in fact, astral beings. I still have no clue as to their validity in this physical world, but one thing is for certain, he showed me that they do indeed exist out there in the astral. As negs.

In the book, Robert Bruce retells his experience of helping a family with their young child. I don't have the book next to me, because I feel directly quoting it right now will sidetrack me. Basically, Robert entered a trance to see what was wrong, and as per usual, late at night, possibly even early in the morning, he saw what was happening to the young lad.

Not one, but TWO aliens were attacking him. Attaching symbiotic...THINGS...to the child, leaching his energy, and TORMENTING him. The fear from the child was gargantuan.

The next contributing factor to my fear of projection comes from a program on TV about sleep paralysis. Basically, most people experience intense fear in sleep paralysis. Bruce even outlined this in Practical Psychic Self-Defense and even in Astral Dynamics. The documentary was originally set out to "explain" alien abduction experiences as merely illusions of the mind. Hah. Try telling someone in THIS community that sleep paralysis is not a spiritual/ethereal encounter, and see how far you get. Anyway, the TV program went on to describe similar encounters, such as encounters with demons, imps, and other such things. Each encounter the person was paralysed in bed, and in some cases they were dragged out -- and in the case of the aliens, they were lifted out of their beds by the UFO's tractor beam.

Now that I've given you sufficient information about my phobia, you can see why I play my Gameboy Advance for at least an hour every night, why I get scared going to the toilet at night, why I loathe uncurtained windows at night, and why I sleep with a light on. But on top of all this, hopefully you can see why I am so scared of Astral Projection.

My dilemma is, I want to project. I want to be psychic. I want to be inspired, to feel the power and to see all the gorgeous beauty of it all. The only problem is that, somewhere along the lines, something is probably going to scare me - terrify even. And well, I literally fear having an experience that will scare me. I fear fear. And though some people might say that is wise, I find it an immense obstacle.

Another contributing factor to this whole dilemma is the fact that I believe that if I ever get into a sleep paralysis situation the first thing that will come to my mind is alien abduction. What will happen from there? I will hallucinate it. The only precaution for that of course is to approach SP with the knowledge that if it ever happens I must snap out of it.

Here's a case study: I've been involved in mild SP several times. I would be dreaming and I'd be looking out of my eyes, most likely with closed eyelids. I would then get filled with dread, not because of another being in the room, but I'm screaming to myself "Get up, get mobile, or they'll get you. They're coming, get up before they arrive!!" I would honestly believe that if I did not act quickly, something would come to attack me, and although nothing has happened as of yet, I'm sure that if I stayed behind arguing with myself that the part that has the fear would win and I would hallucinate something that would likely traumatise me for life and cause me severe insomnia for several weeks.

I am also scared of the exit symptoms for this reason. I am under the assumption that the mind will craft things fairly quickly in the astral environment. So that being said, astral exit symptoms would be fairly similar to sleep paralysis, except far more random. I've heard of the hands grabbing effect, and the falling/pulling effect. I believe that if I were to feel either of these, especially the hands-grabbing effect, the first thing I would think of would be "aliens!!!" and then what do you know? I'm having a self-induced alien abduction experience.

I felt a hand grabbing my shoulder whilst falling asleep last night. I was aware of my bed behind me so I knew it was ridiculous. But guess what my first thought was? If you've been reading this carefully I don't have to write it out. But on closer inspection I found out it was coming from my dream, that my friend (in my dream) had walked up to me and patted me on the shoulder. But the initial thought I had from this feeling of a hand on my shoulder - the thought obviously of "aliens!!" - made the hand small, slender, and very alien-like.

I'm thinking of getting therapy for this, but I haven't got the heart to tell my parents. They know I used to have night terrors and I would wake up screaming at night, but that time has passed, so I don't think they'd believe it was a problem.

If anybody can offer any advice or insights, I would be in your debt.

Thank you for reading this, and thank you for any feedback.

Hi.

I just returned from a very wierd deep trance, possibly even sleep, where I noticed I could not use awareness actions well at all. If I was using them, I could not feel them. Which was strange because I was very deeply relaxed, yet I felt no energy sensations. For one, I could not tell where my feet or my arms were. When I finally found them, the awareness actions had no effect. Regardless, I proceeded to practice activating the primary energy centers (chakras) while in the trance, to hopefully induce an OBE. All attempts failed. The slightest feeling I got from an awareness action was unwanted to say the least, when I tried to stimulate the base center and well...you know what can happen from there[B)].

After that I "woke up," from my altered state, still feeling a little bit wierd and noticing that my vision was a little funny, if not I felt a little clairvoyant. No, I didn't see much except for better auric sight than what I'd usually have, and that isn't even that impressive. I proceeded to do some awareness actions and I am starting to think that Robert Bruce was wrong when he said that the energy body has a memory...mine seems to have clogged up again after spending weeks, if not months off of the NEW system.[:(]

Please help!

Well, let's start with what I really REALLY want to make a point of. You people spend too much time messing around on these forums, when in fact you really should be training on getting out out of body.

Okay okay, I know from reading Tisha's Essay on OBE that it is perfectly normal to be fascinated with OBE, read about it, say that you are training, when in actual fact you've only put in a few minutes every month, if even that.

But I must disagree with one of Tisha's statements, that of being "poor"  for lack of better word, in order to lead a relaxed lifestyle. That may work, but it is like giving up one's physical life for the one outside of it. If that was such a good idea, then why are we "wasting"  time here? Exactly, we're not. Both goals CAN be achieved. But you WILL have to compromise. Spend less time on the computer you Astral Pulse junkies, and less time watching TV etc.

I mean, if you know there is nothing on, and you are bored, then train. If it is a show you really like, you can watch it, but be aware of your goal of being a projector, and be aware that you are losing time getting towards that goal if you do other things.

In actual fact, training for OBE is not as hard or as arduous as it sounds. It is simply a matter of time and patience. First you have to put in the time for it, and that is where many would-be projectors go wrong, including myself. You hardly see the mods posting right? That's because they are out enjoying themselves in the Astral. After you put in the time, be prepared for things going slow at first. Patience is a virtue my friends.

Then there are your core skills. These do not, and I repeat, DO NOT, come over night. If you are using Robert Bruce's Astral Dynamics, I highly recommend looking at the 90-day AD workbook in the downloads section of the website for some guidelines and ideas. The general idea of it is to work at your energy body one bit at a time, keeping all the old steps and gradually building it up (after having some preliminary training in MBA and TI). Relaxation is the same, working WITH energy development, to squeeze down time. 5-60 minutes a day is all that is recquired for the ENTIRE THING, at least one focus exercise, some energy development, and some relaxation training.

Then you move on to inducing trances instead of relaxation and focus, because it is already good enough.

Then during your final weeks you test out the projection exit techniques. Believe me, the structure in the 90-day plan is incredibly useful. You do not have to follow that guide SPECIFICALLY, but it is a good guideline for building your own plan. You do not have to work on energy body, then relaxation, then focus in seperate packages. Wrap them up into one package and work on each very important aspect every day.

And above all, never lose your inspiration to project. I did and I should have been projecting a couple of months ago. Fear not the unknown, and keep a positive, yet patient, attitude towards it all. It is worth the effort, and the effort really isn't that much when you look at it.

Time and patience my friends, approach them with a smile.

Greetings all.

I had an exciting revelation today that could (possibly) save me from procrastination!!

You see, all day today I was getting a headache from all the thoughts I had been having about this and that. You know, the typical internal dialogue, only 10x worse[B)].

So then we had phys. ed where I did some weights. Amazingly the internal dialogue slowed down! And then I went on the punching bag, practicing my (half-butt) martial arts techniques on it. Until it fell lol.

Then straight after that I had a run for sport, then I went back to the school gym and did more weights. Now I still feel really good and my head is clearer than this morning[:)].

Just thought I'd share it.

Hi. I just downloaded a few VNV Nation songs and I think they are really good and relaxing. Catchy too [:D]

Does anybody know any of their very good songs or bad songs? Or are they all good?

And a bigger question - are there any other bands out there that make meditation-type music out there?

Thanks

Hi.

Recently I've been having trouble with the NEW development system in my legs. On one hand, my left leg is incredibly sensitive to body awareness actions, and my right leg doesn't SEEM to respond much at all.

But then again, when body awarenes does start to be felt in the right leg, I feel a bone deep buzzing and heaviness, whereas on my left leg the energy movement sensation is very tingly and not anywhere near as bone deep. I'm not sure which leg is inactive and which is not, because I'm not sure which one is responding in the "wrong" way. Also my knee work on both legs is proving to be the most troublesome part, other than the whole right leg's problems with the brushing movement up and down.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Hey all. I just read Robert Bruce's article on how to train Auric Sight, and I just so happen to NOT(oh my god) have anything purely blue or red around the house to cover up a book. Or at least I'm just too lazy to look. Anyway, I took a blue-ish (sorta light blue, sort of greenish) piece of small note paper, stuck it on to a white paper that was bigger and hung that on my wall. All the sticking was done with tape. Is this OK for training auric sight? Or do I absolutely need the covered book? I'm going to test it out in about an hour I just need to make sure I'm training right so I don't mess up or anything.

Thanks!

Wow.  Good job.

I just recently learned what Kundalini was, and it's a very exciting idea to me.  Good luck in your energy development!

LOL..I'm right there with ya, FT.  I have no idea.[:(]

I did have a dream where I was facing a large cement wall, with a bunch of those star war guys in the white suits standing around.[:P]
Actually the beach beyond the wall was quite inviting, but I never got past the "guards".. *mumbles, stupid guards*

"All I'm saying is that technology CAN be intertwined with nature, so for all of us who think that they only way to progress spiritually is to throw out their TVs, think again."

I agree with this.

A few weeks back during a meditation I was given a vision of being taken a long way into the future. I was amongst ruins of human civilisation at some point after we'd left for another place. What the ruins showed me was that we got it right. We'd finally learned to to develop our technology to work with nature instead of against it.

I do believe it is very much possible and we don't need to become "enlightened" to do it. We just need to become more thoughtful of our source of life and sustanence and learn to work with nature instead of against. The only enlightenment that we need here is to start turning away from our greedy excesses.

Sex is for reproducing. At least sex was meant for reproducing in the beginning ...

But, because some animals (like us) are incredibly "smart" and highly "evolved", they discovered that sex feels good, and because it feels good, they do it all the time now, without reproducing, which would make things too complicated in our complicated society.

Love. Love is, in my opinion, an effect of differenct substances the brain produces. Nothing more. Nothing esoterical. No higher meaning. Just evolvment. We are animals, after all. At least at the moment ...

Dunno if that was on- or offtopic. Honestly, I don't really know what the topic is lol.

I'll keep that in mind . . . didn't think about it . . . But, then again, formality really strives on the person getting to the point and not sticking to the same thing over and over. [;)] Some of us out there might not have any details, and spelling like carp is fun as well. no wut i mene? [:D]

Perhaps the energy used was electromagnetic energy. ALL atoms respond to electromagnetic energy in some way, even if it is not permanent. I did not see the documentary, but I imagine that whatever the MIT students used, it must have been electromagnetic energy that was produced. The fact that iron was used makes this a plausible theory. Iron and magnets are very closely associated.

EMFs cause cancer. This is a widely known fact. This is how electromagnetic energy sometimes affects humans. Another way it affects us is through our brains. Electromagnetic energy can be used to trigger parts of the brain. Psychologists have done experiments on a cat where they hooked up electrodes to the cat's heads and produced a signal to different electrodes. When certain electrodes were activated, the cat would get angry and start hissing. I watched a documentary of this in psychology. Scary stuff. I wish they didn't experiment on animals. It's not very nice.

So let me get this straight... Your friend had a dream that a Mage told that there are 5 sides. And there is a 6th side that must help unite the 5. If this doesn't happen "it" will destroy us. Am i right?

Well if this was in a dream, i would not apply it to anything but the individual who dreamed it. My view on dreams is that the person who has the dream is the only one who can really interpret and read into it, since it was created either by or for his own mind.
Perhaps the 5 and the 6 and the "it" have a symbolic representation in your friend's life that he either needs to acknowledge or discover.
Also what are the Futhark exactly?

By the way, am i the only one who thought of the movie "The Fifth Element" while reading this post? [:D]

I think my family has started calling it "Chocolate Day" or something like that for whatever reasons [:D]

Anyway, HAPPY EASTER!!!!

And yeah i'll bet the easter bunny does exist in the astral somewhere. I wonder what it would look like though, as i'm sure man people have vastly different ideas of what an easter bunny looks like. Maybe there are thousands of them running about everywhere, bumping into each other and falling over. Hahahaha, makes me laugh [:P]

Welcome to Astral Chat! / Theory on energy.
April 07, 2004, 02:48:43
More theories!! Yay!

I was playing Golden Sun 2 the other day (LOVE that game), and one of the townsfolk was trying to mimic an Adept named Piers(in the game people with powers are called Adepts, and until recently, nobody knew about em...of course the main characters you control are Adepts ^_^). Anyways, he tried to use the power Frost to turn a puddle of water into ice. The character said something along the lines of when you focus your mind you're supposed to create Psynergy(psychic energy), because that's what Piers had told him. But it didn't work...

That got me thinking. The more focused your mind gets...maybe more energy is attracted to you, generated or even temporarily created??

Maybe that's why we need to focus so much to allow ourselves to perform things like telekinesis!

Welcome to Dreams! / Being murdered hurts.
April 04, 2004, 04:08:09
That sounds pretty frightening, man! I don't remember ever actually dying in a dream, but i do remember fearing for my life many times. Still, i'm sure it doesn't come close to actually being killed. When you say pain, do you mean physical, emotional, or both?

Let me tell you, being on the other side is no fun either. I'm not speaking from real life experience [:o)] only in a dream. It actually happened the other night. I won't go into details because it's still pretty freaky, but i just remember stabbing somebody in the face a lot and when i woke up i felt sick.
I think i did it more than once though, and the people i was doing it to made it even worse. I think it was half in self-defence though. Like they started to attack me and i just lost control sort of thing.

I was wondering how i could do that to somebody, but in the end you realise it's just a dream and dreams are very metaphoric and cryptic. You just gotta figure out when it signifies for you.

Sweet dreams! [;)]

Please, tell us about your OBE attempts achievements, from start (act of to go to bed) to ... (¿what are your symptoms?: ¿paralysis feeling?, ¿tingling feeling?, ¿heaviness feeling?, ¿seeing through eyelids?, ¿strange noises feeling?, ¿racing heartbeat feeling?,...). Please quote your symptoms like a chronicle; that's say, order them chronologically as much as you can remember about it. Tell us about your OBE technique. Was according to Robert Bruce, Lobsang Rampa, ..., another method ?.
Only if we have a complete overview of your OBE attempts history and procedural basis we can succesfull at help work.

You can't go into actual OBE while in the dream state, BUT you can AP while in dream state. How this is done is you go lucid, then you go about AP'ing normally.

Such dreams as this one is a good way to get the feel of AP'ing/ OBE down. [;)]

I agree.  The word "astral" has little meaning here these days.  Instead of OBE most topics are, well, everything else.  I've even seen a few about pot or the matrix.  But people can write whatever they wish in this country, and on this website.  Most of it is opinion or slander, but not everyone is going to be pleased all the time.  This is less like an astral forum and more like a chat room about whatever comes to mind.

I was wondering though, would doing such a thing cause the perpetrator bad karma, even though his intentions are (in a way) good??

My guess is that it would depend on how people are effected by it. If it would effect more people in a bad way, it would probably end up being a burden for you to work off. I don't know how things would work out if more people positively effected; whether or not you would still get some 'bad karma'. I guess your actions would still determine your karma changes so long as people would still effected by what you did. Just my opinions.

Well fatteh,

Binaurals actually stop working after a while. Your brain in a sense builds a tolerance to the binaural frequencies. Well, I have overcome this, because I keep multiple sound files, each with different multi-layered frequencies. So it always works on me and my brain cant build a tolerance.

Like with holosync and hemisync. They work nice the first few times, but after a while they stop working, or their effect lessens. Thats why that have zillions of levels to these programs. With each level they lower the carrier frequency which overall keeps the frequencies variant to fight tolerance and help u go deeper.

No I don't agree at all. [:)]

If you're just going to pay attention to Negs and have no coping skills or understanding of what is happening to you, you're not going to have any coping skills, won't function well, probably won't live long.

Understanding what Negs are, the syptoms, how they operate, provides coping skills for dealing with situations when they arise. That's empowering, not paranoia. You could walk out your door and be raped, mugged, assaulted, see an airplane fly into a skyscraper, life is precious, yes, but it has to go on. You have to believe you can get through it. Getting through means preparing yourself in the event that it does happen, and either developing the coping skills to help you overcome it or developing the coping skills to survive it in the event you can't (we can't know everything, and learning exactly what is going to stop a powerful Neg, as Robert said in his book, could take years, or maybe for a select few, never happen at all). Life will go on...just maybe not the way you want it to.

Situations like this force you to examine situations and make values assigned in varying levels of priorities.

You can attach to people and things like a neg does,...didn't it ever occur to you that you can turn life into an attachment, and turn it into something Negative. The more you hold on, the more you lose it. It forces you to look at the bigger picture, that we are not just "this life" but many lifetimes, and if we die in a gas chamber (and it CAN happen to you), it is not the end. The suffering is temporary, and not what the Creator intended for you. So make an effort to see beyond it.

I think the increase in reports after Bruce's book was published is due to the fact that many Neg related symtoms were misdiagnosed. I highly doubt it's people being paranoid about Negs or their attacks.
