It Sounds like you started off in a dream/Lucid Dream, have you been watching "Ground Hog Day"
I haven't encountered waking up in a different dream as many times as you say you did, it only used to happen a few times with me. It is very interesting you managed to stay in the dream for such a long time, My Lucid Dreams are not very long but i have multiple ones, I have had very detailed Lucid Dreams and I have experienced pain and sadness I once woke up crying which is silly because I'm not a child. I am not very familiar with Atral Projecting so I can't really tell you about that. Jumping off a cliff or tall building in a Lucid Dream would normally wake me up or send me into and OBE.
