Hey all, man its been a long time since I've been to this forum.  I've been pretty preoccupied wiht school and stuff, well I met this lady a while ago, crippled, in a wheelchair, that can also astral project at will.  We've been writing letters back and forth and I thought that a portion of the one I just wrote would be really appropiate to post here, not to mention the need I have to hear more experienced and knowledgeable peoples' input.  Well, here it is:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
....[blah blah blah, blah, yeah ya da blah].........
.....A year ago, marijuana was a sort of a way of life for me, or I guess you could say I fell into the same groove as my friends.  But now I've majorly cut back, to probably 2-4 times per month (It got to the point of a daily routine).  I think that pot might restrict the ability to OBE, though I must admit that I have such a boosted awareness of my own spirit energy when I'm high. It feels as though I have perfect control--concentrating on any single point of my body, I then feel a sort of 'increasing density' or tingly sensation within seconds.  I've also tried DXM (once) and mushrooms (three times).  DXM is what they put in cough syrup to make the other drugs more intense, it is legal.  I've read many experiences of DXM users before I tried it for myself; some say they see aliens and have out-of-body experiences, even 'talking' to spirits.  My last trip on mushrooms was about 2 weeks ago, and my worst trip yet, I felt as though I was literally tripping out of my mind, I hated it.  The fact that I was aware and thinking and conscious made me feels insane.  I wanted to end my existance and the feeling of doom was overcoming me.  I stayed up until about 5:30AM morning and hysterically laughing.  That is definately the last time I'm doing shrooms.  The next morning, my mom came to me, worried, wanting to talk about a dream she had about me that night--while I was tripping.  She was saying in this dream we were all together, the family, in a house.  An airplane was flying in our direction and kept on circling our house.  My mom said it was some sort of government organization--they were after me, they wanted purely me, I'm special... or something...  The plane left and my mom was relieved.  Then, came some sort of helicopter, she described, but it really wasn't a helicopter.. something different equipped with technology that we've never seen before,  able to see through houses and matter and such.  She kept on saying, "Adam get away from the window!!" But I was standing there yelling, "Here I am, what do you want?!?!" and such.  Then they pointed a lazer at my heart and shot a dart or something into it.  I walked to my mom saying "They got me, mom, they got my heart."  And that was the dream, as my mom described it.  I never want to do shrooms again, and deeply regret doing it that last time.  I've always had limits; I never have and never will do any sort of methemphamine or man-synthesized drug.  By this i mean never doing coke, crank, speed, ecstacy, or LSD (acid).  I wonder if mushrooms (then again any drug) permanently/temperarily impairs one's ability to project or changes one's....frame of reference, or awareness beyond our level comprehension, something I cannot put into words.  I think especialy the same of cocaine, I'll never try coke. Marijuana, shrooms, and DXM, those are the only 'political' drugs I've tried.  One way to confirm my question is to find someone that is able to astral project AFTER they have done mushrooms one, or several times.  Well.. enough about drugs.......
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

K, that's the part that I really would appreatiate others' input.  Are they any shrooms users out there that can relate to what I said?  Can you A.P.?? Well thanx for those who reply :P

(part of one of my replies to my "vampires" topic in general discussions...

You know, Dragonball Z is like a really exaggerated version of this whole energy idea. Despite all the agruments in the Energy Development section, I think DBZ definately needs some credit. After all, they have always stated real methods of energy raising and "psi ball" techniques, with also telekinasis and clairvoyant action scenes.

I personally have never witnessed telekinesis or the like up close, nor on TV, but definately hear a LOT about it.

Try to picture all the energy gathered up from thousands of thousands of planets and all life forms of them.... That would be an unfathomably massive and uncomprehendable total of energy! Kind of like Majin Buu and from his 'quest of destruction.' That would be awesome to see a sick anime--sort of like DBZ--but based on the "astral" or something.

(my mom and little 9 year old sister sleep together) the funny thing is, my mom was saying how she was briefly dreaming of her ex-husband, (little sister's dad) but could not see his face, right at the same time she awoke and heard what my little sister said. Does anyone think that two people, due to physical closeness or empathy, can merge in dreams??  I've have always wondered this.

Hmm..its possible. Or its possible that your sister was accually the one dreaming and your mom picked up on it?..or the other way around?

Well, from what I've heard, vampires suck energy. Some people will run around and claim to be vampires and that vampires aren't bad, but I think those are just people who like to share energy.

Succubi/Incubi are sexual negs. They thrive on sexual energy, and that's why they make you orgasm.

I hear that astral sex can be dangerous if you do with a stranger, because it's your soul merging with another.

I've never experience any of these things, though.

Hmm... I was going to ask something similar to your question. Last night, I think I did project (or nearly fully project) out from one of my dreams.

I tried 3 times yesterday to have an AP, and with all 3 I felt that I nearly got out.... only thing was I felt trapped and shaky. And so far, only my right arm seems to be getting out.

Anyway, right before that last 3rd time, I had fallen asleep and upon waking up, I felt so drained and energy-wasted, I could barely walk to my room (I tried to AP in my parent's room, cause it felt safe there). I dunno, maybe using up too much energy (or stimulating it) isn't good for you?

After that last time trying, I went to sleep (around 3AM) and woke up in a dream-state semi-paralysed or, really numb. I felt and saw myself as I was leaving my body (though, not by my control). And this time, my whole upper body got out. Strange thing was that I felt terribly restricted, and saw my body sort of 'squished' or 'pushed together' as it was coming out. I panicked, thinking something was wrong, then woke up.

So far, I've found (for me) that when I attempt AP around 2AM and fail, that once I fall asleep, I end up 'half-projecting' through my dreams. This has only happened a few times this week. I'm going to keep trying, to see if this is not mere coincidence. I wonder if the time that we either attempt AP or fall asleep has anything to do with how successful our attempts at AP will be during our dreams?

Well, I hope I find out soon, cause sacrificing sleep really messes up with my biological clock!

Oh, and what time do you usually go to sleep? Or what times do you remember falling asleep around when you happened upon your lucid dreams?

"Today a young man on acid realized that all matter is mearly energy condensed through a slow vibration, we are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively, life is only a dream and we are the imaginations of ourselves. Here's Tom with the weather" - Bill Hicks

first of all, i would like to say that i have little experience with psychadelics other than the fact that i have tried ecstacy once. it was definitely a very interesting experience and at the time i had no knowledge of projection/energy work or else i wouldve experimented with it. i did however smoke a lot of pot when i was in high school and i would have to say that i never experienced any spontaneous projections like i do now that i'm completely sober or when i was a kid and completely sober.

" three weeks ago two of my friends and i went to a ranch in fredricksburg, texas took what terrance m. would call a heroic dose 5 dried grams (mushrooms) let me tell you our third eye was squeegied quite cleanly. WOW. and i'm glad they're against the law cause you know what happened when i took them... i layed in a field of green grass for four hours going "my god i love everything" the heavens parted and god came down and rained gifts of forgiveness onto my being healing me on every level, psychically, physically emotionally, and i realized our true nature is spirit not body we are eternal beings and gods love is unconditional and there's nothing we can ever do to change that... it is only our illusion that we are separate from god and we are alone.. the truth is we are one with god and he loves us"  - Bill Hicks

well i can understand why people would want to try and take these psychadelics to advance spiritually but personally i think i'd rather go the natural way than eating mushrooms that grow on cow crap. plus i think i'd be much more proud/conscious of my experience. even if the drug doesnt eliminate the capability to have an obe, it still will no doubt fu@k up your brain in some way shape and form. well i guess that's just my opinion [:)]

Ive seen him do materializations, they are nothing more than a mediocre magician can accomplish. He uses slights of hand in his materializations.
I also read reports of how a lot of Christians die while handling snakes... This is done because in Mark's Gospel, Chapter 16, verse 17: "They shall take up serpents."  Now Dewey Chafin quotes from American People Magizine, "See, I handle serpents because it's i nthe Bible, like a commandment. And I drink strychnine because the Bible says it won't hurt me. Now, either every word in that Bible is right or it's wrong."
The bible also says we should burn bulls as a sacrifice because the odor is pleasing to the lord. Lev.1:9

According to Exodus we can sell our daughters to slavery. Exodus 21:7

We can also buy slaves as long as they are purchased from a neighboring nation. Lev. 25:44

A lot of filtering needs to be done when reading the bible.

Ah yes, SHC (spontaneous human combustion)... very strange phenomenon.  Another interesting thing about SHC is that sometimes a body will burn so hot that it has been known to burn through several floors, yet the building never catches fire, only the immediate area around the victim.  Very strange... it's definitely energy within the person causing this, but why?

Hi there, What Tha Phak,
I am not as experienced as Robert Bruce, but I have 25 years of reading, studying AND direct personal experiences to fall back on, some of which are similar to his.I agree with him on the issue of the only body there is...is that of the one you imagine there to be.I have also had some experiences where I seem to have no tangible body at all, but I can still see, hear and speak.And there have been others where I have some sort of body similar in shape to the physical body but without the solidity.But I have never ever experienced any kind of pain at all while projecting.How about trying a little direct personal experience yourself? If you have read so much, surely you must know how to astrally project yourself by now.

i don't know too much about them but from what i gather they are sounds that help you achieve different states of consciousness.  there was a pretty good thread about them a while back.  a search on bwgen or something like that would prove to be helpful.  i do remember reading that it helped many people succeed in at least having some type of experience that they've never had.  they sound interesting enough and i plan on using them sometimes in the future, after i've been successful myself.

Hi,

"I can for sure feel resistence in areas of my body when stimulating, but how do you know whether certain parts of your body are actually out??"

There is no mistaking it, you will know when a part of you is out of your body, for comparrisom thats like asking someone how they know that they have just put their hand in a bowel of water. It sounds like you need to keep doing more energy work and stuff. Personally, the vibrations before i leave my body are so strong they are sometimes a discomfort to the physical body. Its more than just a tinkly feeling. Also, I usually can't move my physical body before I seperate from it. What you have to aim for is a state commonly called "body asleep-mind awake"

"do you see or feel it?"

Both, just as you see and feel when you are walking around in your physical body. [:)]

"man i wanna do this so bad its killing me maybe I'm too young? haha probably not im 16.. how old was everyone they're first experience, how did they do it, and what happened."

You're not too young, the age of your physical body doesnt have anything to do with it, although some may disagree, i dont think age matters and neither do a lot of people. I was 15 the first time I did it. (I'm 17 now) For my first conscious obe, I woke up about 6am and then had a drink and went back to bed, and went through some relaxation techniques and then let my body fall asleep, and then when it was really relaxed i thought of the vibrations and they came in, and then i thought of lifting out and i lifted out of my body a few inches and hovered there, and then got back in my body. With that experience a huge feeling of nestelgia hit me, i felt so happy afterwards[:)]. I thought afterwards that the way Robert Monroe described the vibrations was very accurate also.

"should i try some OBE inducing drugs? Got any advise besides the rope technique which doesnt seem to work for me..?"

I strongly recommend not using drugs to induce an obe, you dont know what risks you could be taking or what you could be opening yourself up to. It is not a wise decision to start things off on that route. I would liken taken drugs to induce an obe to the same as an athlete taking drugs to be able to perform better.

As for advice, Robert has other techniques for seperating in his book.
Ones that work well for me are the lift-off technique, and the roll-out technique. Basically, for lifting out, just think to yourself how great it would be to float upwards out of your body and imagine a feeling of lightness. For the roll out technique, slowly roll over to oneside just as you would if you were rolling out of bed, but do it slowly and you should seperate from your physical as you do.

Hope I've helped,

Oliver

Welcome, Adam (got that off your profile)!

I was maybe 32 and under severe stress when I started projecting.

Besides ROPE, you can try what works for me sometimes - Allow your body to fall asleep as you try to keep your mind alert.

What happens for me is that my mind will drift off to sleep along with my body, then will snap back to awareness - this will happen again and again. Eventually when my mind snaps back to awareness, my body is so far gone that I can pull out of it.

I know I'm separating because I can feel myself pulling away from my body. It's like taffy, all sticky as the two parts separate. Sometimes I can see a single body part lifting out of body - and it's clearly not physical, I can see through it or something.

There's lots of variations.

When I'm out, things arent what I expect. Example, usually the experience is much shorter than I would like. things don't always match up to the physical world, and I don't realize it til later, I can't do all the things I expect - like fly, etc.

But it is still really fun, and you will experience your own thing anyway so don't let me get you down. One other technique that helps me is dream journaling. Write down your dreams - every time you wake up, middle of the night or morning, write them down - Your recall will improve and you will start to have more awareness while your body is sleeping.

The big thing is firm committed intent, in my opinion. Be determined, for example, even if you are lying there and sleep seems so attractive - you might think "I'll give up for tonite and try tomorrow" - DON'T. Don't give up. Maintain firm intent to become aware while your body is dead to the world.
