Today was my day off so I had all morning to focus on this. I slept for about 8.5 hours last night, then woke up, eat breakfast, went to the gym, walked the dogs, eat lunch around 12:30 pm (about 3 hours after waking up). After lunch I took a shower and listened to Monroe's Gateway Experience HemiSynch tapes. After the tape ended I was feeling sleepy and decided to take a nap. During the nap I found myself having intense lucid experiences. During one experience I was breathing under water - This was the coolest thing ever! Bubbles were coming out during the exhale.

Here was the last experience I had before I woke up around 4 pm:

October 13, 2011
I find myself in bed separating from my body. My legs are already out but my upper body is being more difficult. This is a strange exit where I literally feel myself being sucked through and out my legs. I let out an audible gasp of pain as the sensation is not pleasant. I feel myself float out and lightly hit the floor.

I am in this pleasant blackness. I decide to allow the experience to direct itself as I begin to feel an intense rush of motion. This lasts for nearly a minute or so. It feels like every atom in my body is undergoing a gradual frequency change. It feels like I am traveling extremely fast through a wormhole in space.

Next visual phenomena enters my field of view. All of a sudden I am staring at a gigantic honey comb like structure of little scenes. I get the intuitive feeling each one of the little circles of the honey comb is a world. I seem to enter one of these worlds. At first all of the people are cartoons as I transition into this world, but then they materialize into people as I know them in my reality.

I am at a ball park of some sort – some type of sporting event. It reminds me of baseball but it is not baseball. I notice all of the inhabitants are spitting something out of their mouth – they remind me of drunken sports fans.

At one point I begin to brawl with the inhabitants. I am able to move faster than they are. I feel like Neo in the matrix. I fight individually maybe ten of them. It is a lot of fun – almost thrilling. I am able to jump several feet in the air, and perform any type of fighting maneuver I can imagine. At one point I pick one person up and use him like a bat on another opponent.

Eventually the fighting subsides. It is not like fighting on our planet. It felt natural, socially acceptable and even fun. I don't think anyone was getting hurt.
Lastly I am in this room with a girl who I know is "my sister," although I don't have a sister in waking life. She is my sister in this reality. I ask her to tell me the date. She seems confused. I probe her further asking if it is October and she says, "What are you talking about October?" The idea of a date and time seems to be lost to these people.

I incubated this lucid dream using the "wake back to bed" method.

9/12/11
The dream starts out with an intense sexual urge. I am nearly lucid but my dream is being pulled by this sexual desire. I am running around naked and trying to materialize a female. I get to this outside area where I make the decision to put off these desires and make this a productive experience.

I find myself walking to this table or shrine which has all of these religious statues. One of them was this creepy looking doll thing, which I felt mildly fearful of. But I was courageous, put the fear aside, and began to talk with it.
After a few moments I found myself walking around with an entire entourage of people – most were perceived as my good friends such as Duddy and Heller. At this point I was completely lucid and I started to probe them with an array of questions.

First I asked if 'any of my guides would like to speak to me' and they all answered that they were my guides. I had made this request to the dream in general and was happy that this group of dream characters following me answered.

Next I asked the group 'if guides were interfaces with consciousness', but they seemed confused by the question. I asked a follow up question about if guides were like me, an individual unit of consciousness, and they said they were similar to me. I got the strong sense that a lot of my human concepts were alien to this group.

The next series of questions came when I thought about overcoming anxiety. I asked what the cause of my anxiety was and the guides said something about a "heroine-imbalance." This was confusing to me so I asked if they meant an 'opioid-related imbalance in my brain', but they said no. The guides then went on to prescribe "egg coffee" as a cure. I soon woke up and eagerly transcribed my experience. I cannot remember the dream in its entirety but I remember a lot of learning was going on, such as learning how to turn on and off my visual perception in the dream.

____________________________

I was very thrilled to go online and find out egg coffee exists, and is actually an old Scandinavian drink which was drank in churches. Some even called it "the Nectar" and there is some very interesting chemistry associated with this drink. I'm not a coffee drinker at all. I just brewed a batch of this stuff and am having one of my first cups of coffee ever. Egg coffee is made by boiling coffee with a raw egg... you can find a few recipes online.

Do you think I jumped the gun by drinking this stuff? It seemed to me that it was a clear message from what I perceived as "guides", but I could be naive. Has anyone had a similar experience where an obscure food, unknown to the conscious self, was prescribed? What do you all make of this?

Cool video which came out as a precursor to Wilcock's new book coming out in a couple weeks. I gave it a watch and thought it was worth sharing here for those interested in these topics.

This two hour video has a lot of interesting information and ideas which touch on hypnosis, DNA, meditation, human lookings ETs and much more.

QuoteDid human extraterrestrials visit Earth – and predict a Golden Age will culminate in the year 2012, freeing us from evil, fear and doom?

Did the founding fathers of America inherit this prophecy – and encode it directly into the Great Seal of the United States?

Why is there a pyramid with an eye inside a glowing triangle?

Is Novus Ordo Seclorum quoted from an ancient prophecy text – the greatest and most secret treasure of the Roman Empire – predicting that humans on Earth will transmute into "light beings" and achieve Apotheosis – where Man becomes God – and the 'Gods' themselves return?

In this mind-blowing new documentary, David Wilcock reveals the stunning scientific proof that DNA and biological life emerge directly out of the Source Field... a universal matrix of energy creating all space, time, matter, energy, biological life and consciousness – and we are indeed about to experience the Greatest Moment of All Time.

July 30, 2011 "OBE to Underground Room" [Wake Back to Bed Method]
I find myself in the trance state rotating and I begin to further rotate my nonphysical body to attempt to detach. I begin to spin on an axis which is at the top of my head. I spin faster and faster in a circle and I see this spinning spoked-wheel or cog in my visual perception. After a few moments I detach from my body and I find myself in a version of my room. My control is weak and I have trouble moving around. Looking back I should have performed a deepening exercise.

I'm staring at the wall and notice it starts to move, like it is malleable. I felt almost glued to the ground. I decide to dive into the ground where I pass a few layers of rock and sediment. I go probably about 20-30 feet down into the Earth. I find myself on this rocky dirt floor. When I look around I notice I am now in a new version of my room. This is like my room underground. A poster hangs on my wall where my Buddha poster is in waking reality, however this poster is of abstract shapes and symbols. I look around the room and then attempt to fly out the window. When I attempt to go through the window I lose my focus and falsely -wake up.

I found myself, now without lucid awareness, back on this rocky ground. I was staring at this strange electronic device which was still in its yellow, partly see-through package. One part of the device looked like headphones. In the dream I was taking pictures of the packaging with my cell phone so I would remember what it was, because I thought it was important. The device had a lot of writing on the package and I remember David Wilcock joking about the "guarantee" which was on the box. The front bottom of the package had this Egyptian image on the front – like that of the sideways people art and hieroglyphics. The name of the guarantee, or device itself, was something with two D's. I got the sense the device was very technical and expensive.

I had another false awakening where I wake up at 8:42. After a few more dreams when I finally did wake up it was 8:41!.

Anyone having these as of late? Here is a lucid dream from last night:

"UFO War"
There is a huge battle going on. I had dream memories of being in this scene before. There were UFOs and fighter jets buzzing around the sky. I had hopped onto one of these four anti-aircraft guns which were lined up. The barrels were small and they were self loaded with these small shells. I couldn't figure out how to work the shells at first, but the guy next to me taught me how to properly load the weapon. I asked the guy what the battle was all about and he told me that the UFO-people/ETs had taken over a good portion of the world, "That they took over more and more territory. They took Europe and tried to take America." I didn't have astral awareness but had lucid awareness throughout the dream.

Are ETs coming into our reality?

July 27, 2011 "OBE to the Belief-Gym" [Wake Back to Bed Method w/ Amazon MP3]

I roll out of my body and feel myself traveling a vast distance in dark space. Instead of trying to control this experience I surrender to the higher aspects of myself to bring me wherever I need to be.

I find myself in this gymnasium where I see an array of people just hanging out, many of which I know. I see family and friends. Everyone looks just how I remember them now.

I start to talk with everyone and notice that they are slightly different from how I remember them. They tell me this place I am at is in my future. Some people are playing cards on the floor. Others are just hanging out. I joke with my cousin about all of the candy and sweets everywhere. I told Kyle, "This is like a McDermott party with all these sweets."

At one point I'm talking with my friend Ralph and a few other people. I tell them that I am Andrew visiting from 2011 through what I call lucid dreaming and astral projection. They all just cheer and laugh. They are very amused and excited by this idea. I felt like I was a channeling into the body I was using. My voice actually changed tone when I said this, reminiscent of my favorite ET channel Basher.

I was walking around this gymnasium talking to everyone. Some people I knew, others I didn't. I tried to get some sports betting information out of these people by asking who won the Superbowl in 2012. My friend Ralph said the NY Giants and a few other people gave me different answers! Some other people told me it didn't matter. Eventually Ralph told me it didn't matter because it was a different type of game or something, and I wasn't going to get out of it what I wanted.

I was talking with this one girl who was telling me stuff I didn't know about myself. She told me I had a daughter, even though in waking reality I am 23, single and with no intention of having a child in the foreseeable future. I had to stop her because I didn't want to know anything else about myself!

As I was leaving I was saying goodbye to everyone. They told me I should come back and visit them. I told them I haven't exactly mastered how to revisit places but I will try. I knew I didn't have much time left in this area. I jokingly slapped this old man's butt as I was leaving and then we jokingly spared a bit before we hugged.

I remember seeing this beautiful girl who had a solemn look on her face. For some reason I connected her with my wife or daughter. I think she was wearing a police officer uniform or something of the sort. I never approached her or said anything to her, but just felt sadness for some reason.

I saw my grandma walking around just before I awakened.
_______________________________________________________________________

This was a strange one. I don't know what to make of. I don't think I'm going to try and classify it. I had a lot of fun in this area and I'm going to try and go back. I wish I could have gotten something fruitful to help aid my current anxieties and financial situation, although deep down I know I'm just alright.  8-)

Not sure which forum to fit this into.

Here is a fantastic 5 part series which was brought to my attention by David Wilcock's recent blog entry (http://divinecosmos.com/start-here/davids-blog/956-1950s-ets). This documentary describes a group of people in Italy who were in contact with friendly ETs starting in the 1950s and into the 1970s. These ETs are described as human in appearance ranging from 1 to 6 meters tall. They perform an array of seemingly impossible feats, including telepathy and teleporation, and are said to have emanated love and held to high standards the ideas of ethics and friendship. They also describe a group of ETs, who are concerned with more materialistic matters, whom they keep in check by their presence on Earth. Well, draw your own conclusion but give the video a chance.  8-)

So lately around these forums there has been a lot of discussion on what is a "dream," a "lucid dream" and "OBE". How do these interrelate to each other? What is the RTZ and does it have any relation to physical reality beyond our expectations? Well, this experience leads to more questions than it answers. But for me, it shows the fools errand of trying to categorize and label these experiences.

July 20, 2011 "OBE to Parallel Reality"

At first I find myself in a dream living in a house. I was interacting with my brothers, but the house and everything else, including my brother's friends, were different from waking reality.

At some point I realized I was laying in bed and I felt myself starting to lift out of my body. I had the sensation of my legs lifting in the air. Then I consciously thought I would roll out of my body. I found myself with the perception of walking around my room but with no visual sight. I walked over to my window and requested sight, and I was now able to see out my window.

The strangest thing was I found myself with my acquaintance/friend Ralph in the room. He lives in the next neighborhood over in waking reality. He was astonished by the experience. I asked him if he wanted to fly around and he agreed. We fly through my window. While on my roof Ralph said that he hasn't "done this since he was a little kid." I'm keeping my eye out for reality fluctuations, but everything seems normal to me. However, looking back, nothing was right! I remember seeing this strange car with these weird color panels on the side – Although it looked normal to me in the experience, my waking mind would have picked it out right away.

As we flew around we decided to fly to Ralph's house. I was occasionally repeating mantra as we flew. Ralph commented, "Does that mean anything?" and I replied, "It just helps me stay focused." I remember commenting on how I had more control and focus than I'd ever had before. At one point I picked a flower and smelt it, passing it to Ralph. I remember saying, "If we can create this in our mind we are more than our physical bodies" or something along those lines.

When we get to Ralph's house he comments on how it is not the same as it normally is. We start to talk about how we may be in a parallel reality, or a lot of trips to the RTZ may be different times and realities. I made the intent command "I wish to see Ralph's real house" and the scene slightly changed. His Mom came in the garage area, but Ralph did not seem entirely convinced. He went outside the garage to see how the house looked from there.

At the next point Cory, an acquaintance who lives in that area, walks out of this area and now Ralph may have been changed to Dave, who also lives in that neighborhood. They do their usual eccentric greeting to each other. Then this other kid comes out of somewhere who I seem to know in the dream, and he laughs "I know where you live" as I recall the memory of him being at my house. In waking reality I have no idea who this person is at all. As soon as I thought about trying to get the lottery numbers I awakened.
___________________________________________________________

So how would you classify this experience?
- I seemed to have two sets of memories - One from some other life and one of this waking life
- I had the classic sensation of floating out of my body and starting in a perceived neighborhood
- I found myself greeted by and traveling with a friend who seemed entirely objective, even skeptical and conversational
- I thought I was in my neighborhood, but it turns out this neighborhood was that of my secondary dream, parallel self?

In short, this one really threw me for a loop. It had component of OBEs, LDs and spontaneous night dreams, which furthers my thinking that there is no fine line between these experiences.

What do you think?

I went camping this weekend. The first night it began to pour relentlessly from about 8 PM to 4 AM. During the first couple hours of the storm, our tent got completely flooded and our sleeping arrangements were drenched. Water pooled on top of the tent and leaked inside. We didn't notice this because the tent was supposed to be water proof and we were all congregating in a screen house across the campsite.

Long story short, I had to spend the night in the passenger seat of my brothers car. I'm very tall and it is very difficult for me to sleep in cars. My brother has sleep apnea I think and he was snoring like a mothertrucker nonstop for the entire night. On top of that, the rain hitting the roof of the car just added to the noise. I slept on and off maybe a half-hour from around midnight to 4 AM. The night before I only got about 4 or 5 hours sleep so I was extremely sleep deprived by this time.

My mind was racing and I focused on repeating a mantra to try and pass the time. I debated walking around in the monsoon just to get out of the cramped quarters of the car and away from the snoring. I found myself rummaging through my brothers bag for something to put over my ears where I found his iPod. I ended up listening to this strange meditation track he randomly had - it was called Amazon Rainforest by Anton Hughes. After listening to this for a few minutes my body began to get heavy and I drifted off.

I soon "woke up" lucid in this trance state. I knew I was in my physical body but I was being shown all of these images which appeared in my visual perception. It was not like a lucid dream where you are fully immersed in the environment. I felt like I was "looking in" to these various environments, like a spectator or camera man. It was more real than hypnagogic images... it was literally like I was peaking into dreams.

The scenes were all of these rooms. They were constantly changing before my eyes in a hyper fast manner. I felt like I was seeing time go by very fast. One item in the room would change at a time, in a sequential manner. One of the rooms dealt with a meditation room. I was consciously aware I was in my body while these seemingly real environments were presented to me.

At one point I made an affirmation to connect with my higher self. All of a sudden this beautiful mandala encompassed my entire vision. It was this complex, colorful and moving mandala. I saw how a portion of it was blurry, and I "knew" that this was the portion which has fear. It was an intuition I had that fear clouds a portion of my reality. I just knew it at the time.

Next my consciousness moves into a lucid dream. I find myself laying in my backyard at home, in a spot where my dog likes to lay in the cool dirt. I see my neighbor outside and my neighbors dog near the fence. I am laying down but I feel like a child. I am in the embrace of what I felt was this mother figure, almost like a personification of the mother Earth. She is holding me and I just felt so safe and secure - It was a feeling that is hard to convey in words. She was giving me tips on the trance state - One I recall was the practice in the "master bedroom." I'm still trying to figure out what exactly this means. She also told me to use the affirmation "I sincerely wish to connect with my higher self" before trance work.

Eventually my consciousness drifted back into the waking state. It was now light outside and the rain had passed. Although I couldn't have gotten more than 2 hours of sleep, I felt completely rejuvenated and refreshed. I felt like I had tapped into some energy and felt so alive and excited from the experience.

I drifted back to a relaxed state after waking up this morning. I found myself lying in my bed with roaring vibrations going through my body. I tried my best to remain calm and to move the vibrations throughout my body. After a few moments I decided to "roll out" of my body. I remember the feeling of motion and of my feet hitting my bedroom floor. "I did it!" I thought! But I had no sense of sight, I was blind!

My body still had remnants of vibrations running through it. I focused on my hands to ground myself in the experience. I made the command/intent "I wish to see my hands." Within a few moments I could begin to make out my hands. Then my entire room entered my visual field. I could see something lying in my bed, but I quickly turned away so I wouldn't reenter.

I was off balance and had trouble staying my feet. I fell to the floor once or twice as if I was intoxicated! The reality around me was almost morphing and contorting to my "dizziness" – for example when I fell near my window all my blinds wildly moved about in a strange fashion. Eventually I got up, gained my bearings, and flew right through the window.

I soared all around the street in front of my house. I fly by one of the houses down the street and noticed two little kids in the back yard. They seemed to be able to see me and I waved at them as I flew by. At first they appeared to be two boys, but later they may have changed into two girls. I believe they said, "Hey! We aren't taking visitors!" as I flew by.

I was so pleased by the dampness of the air. It felt like a damp, warm September morning, and I saw the sun poking through the clouds. I felt great. I fly around and marveled at my accomplishment. I decided I was going to fly into a tree and wait for a guide to come. But soon my vision would fade to black and I would wake up. In hindsight I should have focused on my hand to reground myself in the experience. I am very pleased with the progress I made in this experience and next time I will focus to prolong it.

I'm experimenting with different sounds recently during phasing attempts. I had some success today with shamanic drums. It seems I can get to the point where scenes are developing before me, but I can't "jump in." I get excited, possibly move my eyes, and the scenes quickly fade away. I also have trouble getting my head to fall asleep.

I also had an interesting experience using a CD called "4.5 Deep Theta Meditation-Marshland-Tibetan Bells." After listening to this for about 45 minutes I quickly opened my eyes. I saw this little hovering probe looking thing hovering over my bed. I felt like it saw that I saw it and it quickly floated a foot or two and then faded away. I thought this strange - It looked like a circle with a little flag coming out of it. I got the sense it was mechanical in nature.

Well, sorry for that digression.

What frequencies do you use? Recommend any CDs? What has your experience been?

Welcome to Dreams! / Dreams and Animals Spirits
March 30, 2011, 00:49:38
Just curious if anyone buys into the idea of spirit or totem animals. I had a lucid dream where I asked to see my spirit guide, and a bunch of white butterflies flew around me and landed on my finger. It was a exhilarating dream - I woke up feeling charged with energy.

In a bunch of my non-lucid dreams I have dogs and bears appear. Dogs seem to act as guides or companions, and a lot of the dog-dreams deal with puppies interacting with my two waking reality dogs.

The bear dreams are very interesting. The bear is usually being mischievous in some way and I am trying to stop it or get away from it. Sometimes the bear jumps on top of me and just when I think I'm dead I notice that it has no desire to kill me. I can feel it's claws and breathing - it's very vivid.
The first dream involving the bear I feel had some significance. I was a Polar bear being chased by about 20 black bears. I climbed on a rock where all the other bears circled below me. They were all growling and circling me. I tried to growl to warn them off but only my human voice came out - a human growl! When I woke up to go downstairs my parents were watching a documentary on Polar bears!  8-)

What do you all think about animals in dreams? I think maybe dogs are attached to us as developing consciousness as we experience many lives (and develop our own consciousness) . The Fool Tarot trump comes to mind. Bears may be the collective consciousness of all bears - like a collective soul. Just some theories, I really have no idea

I'd like to hear other people's animal spirit stories. I'd also like to know if anyone has any idea of how to connect with this bear symbol. I want to make it my ally.

I just came across this eBook last night. It's free on the internet, just do a quick Google search.

I tried the indirect techniques last night with a lot of success. When falling asleep I do affirmations and put my intent towards remaining still when I wake up in the early morning. I woke up about 4 times last night and rotated a few of the indirect techniques described in the book (such as "listening in", "wiggling a body part", and "straining the brain".

The strangest thing is that some of my dreams last night were catered towards helping me remain still when I woke up. One of my dreams, a false awakening, involved listening to a song on my voice recorder which continued in my head as I woke up! If my arm wasn't in an awkward position I think I would have easily been able to focus on the song to induce a projection.

After years of reading anything and everything pertaining to OBEs, this book is proven to be a real gem! It's practical and to the point. I recommend this book, a lot of success for only one night of trying the techniques described.  8-)

I found myself in that twilight zone between sleep and waking. I had this message in my head which told me to not worry about any projection related technique and to just do it, just phase into the experience. I set my intent, relaxed, and almost instantaneously I had heavy vibrations. I was unable to convert this into a experience, but I thought the message was cool. "Just do it."  8-)

Later I found myself in to following dream:

I find myself with a few friends at a school situated behind my elementary school. It looked nearly identical to my elementary school, and we were on the field by the playground.

At first I was "adding" stuff to the playground. I added this chain hanging down from a swing. I thought this might be fun for the kids to swing and battle each other. I also added this metal bridge across the already standing playground bridge. Someone else was adding stuff do. I thought this was a great service we were doing, and we were going to continue it across the country (adding new stuff to other playgrounds).

Next I find myself near the edge of the playground. I seemed to have a sense that I was dreaming. I jumped in the air and tried to fly, but simply landed on the ground. I asked why I could not fly. I was with this lady who I identified as T'Pal, the female Vulcan from Star Trek: Enterprise. She reached our her hand and touched me. All she had to do was touch me and all of a sudden I began to fly into the sky. My vision went black and I had this great sense of motion. I was flying up and down and horizontal at great speeds, but could not see anything. I attempted to get the previous scene to materialize, but I ended up partially waking up and drifting into a different dream.

What do you think of this Vulcan character? Perhaps some type of guide? Or maybe an aspect of myself that "allows" me to do the seemingly impossible?

Welcome to Dreams! / The Moon
March 19, 2011, 01:23:12
My dreams tend to get more power than usual during moon related events. Today I meditated on the moon and I expect an interesting night. The "super moon" has the Moon closest to the Earth in nearly two decades.

During the most recent lunar eclipse a few months back I had this intense dream. I was observing the eclipse in my dream when my consciousness shot towards the moon in wormhole fashion. I found myself in this hyper-dimensional environment in which words will do no justice. The colors and geometry were morphing and transforming... it was intense and beautiful. We don't have any comparison in physical reality.

I wish you all an interesting night as well.

I keep running into this problem. I will get to focus 12 and start to see images, scenes, etc. I start to do Xanth's mental rundowns. All of a sudden a scary figure will pop in my field of vision and scare me out of focus 12.

This morning it was this ET looking thing wearing a hood. In the past it has been a face full of maggots and some other weird stuff. I'm at the point where I wish I could just punch these images in the face. It is less of the fear than it is the shock value that messes me up.

I'm starting off my techniques using the Gateway Experience, Wave 1 - Discovery 6, so I am doing the resonant tuning and creating my resonant energy balloon.

What do you all make of this? I've got a pretty active imagination so I'm sure there is the possibility I am scaring myself. I am also reminded what Robert Bruce calls the 'dweller on the threshold.' Any input appreciated.

Welcome to Dreams! / Powerful Dream
March 05, 2011, 00:26:52
Here is a dream I had last night. A little background: My grandfather died this past year. I keep having dreams involving him and the issue of death. I don't think he knows he is dead yet. My grandmother (Mimi) is still alive and living in an old age home, although she has pretty much completely lost her grounding in physical reality. I'm trying to figure out what this dream means. At the end I'll provide some of my own analysis, but I am open to any suggestions.

Here is a thread where I talked about my most recent dream with my grandpa. http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/welcome_to_out_of_body_experiences/dead_relativespeople-t33317.0.html
In short, he seemed like he was trying to get waking peoples attention, hanging around the dream locals.

"The Failed Psychopomp"

First I am at the new frat house, but it is different. While I am upstairs, I grab a few empty beer cans to help clean up. Then I navigate to the basement where two people have their rooms. I notice the basement is fairly clean other than the beer soaked everywhere. I think how it must suck to have one of the rooms down here, so close to the partys. I walk to the open room and find Mark alone in his room. We talk a little about something. The other room is connected to this room and I peak in to find Vinny sleeping in an awkward position, almost sitting up against the wall. He wakes up and we begin to talk. This is Dan's room – there are New York sport's team posters, pictures and memorabilia all over the walls, all red, white and blue. I comment on how I don't like it all – except for the Ranger's stuff. I also notice that there are two old looking air conditioners in two different windows in this room. The person living in the room next door says he asked for one, but did not get it. I think about how it would make a lot more sense to have one AC for each room.

As the three of us walk out of the rooms we pass another room connected to the basement. This is Mimi's room. I can hear someone with a cane moving about. [I still get chills thinking about it.] We all didn't want her to see us for some reason. I felt the people in the frat didn't want to see her because of her craziness; she was probably a hassle to live with at this point. We all frantically ran out of the house.

After we were outside I thought I needed to talk to Mimi, and Grandpa John. I remembered I had to tell him he was dead – to help him understand his afterlife conditions. I had Kyle with me to help. We were now at a stairs in the basement and I perceived what I thought was Mimi about to come down.

[There may have been more at this point and the following paragraph may have been a different dream]

I am in my room with some people, notably Keith and Pete. There is this large, poisonous beetle that keeps crawling up my covers onto my bed. I have to use something to hit it off my bed. I think how I will not be able to sleep with this creature in my room. It is about eight inches long and red in color. It had a stinger on it's back. I remember Keith saying that you don't want to get stung, and that it is "cold" when you do. I went into my drawer to get my hunting knife, and then after a missed try I successfully decapitated the creature. Pete Baker picked up the head, and I made it clear I didn't want anything to do with it anymore. I was a little nervous he would throw it at me or something.

I'm in my room still. I feel like I have accessed some energy I cannot control. Upon telling Grandpa John he is dead I began to get sort of attacked. The energy kind of manifested itself in my pillow which began to cling to me. I struggled to keep the pillow off of me.

I went in Chris' room to show him the problem. I was scared. He saw that the pillow had taken a life of its own. It didn't seem malicious – almost like it was not conscious of its actions. It tried to cling to Chris as I put it near him. We were talking too loud and this caused Mom to wake up.

Mom and I were now downstairs talking at the kitchen table. I told her what had happened with Grandpa John and she was concerned. She thought we may need an exorcist, but I told her that was adding unnecessary fear to the equation. She was concerned that their old house may now be haunted, and this reminded me of a dream where this was the case.  While we were talking my voice recorder (which I use to record dreams) turned on by itself and played a recording of me. It was only a few words and said something about "Andrew insecure" and something else. I took the message to have negative meaning, but Mom seemed to brush it off like I had gone on a trial run and it was a watershed moment - I felt like it all had to do with talking to dead people. The voice recorder then began to start tuning a bunch of different FM radio stations by itself – it stopped at some pop song I cannot recall. I remember seeing the music video, cover art, or something relating to the pop song.

Next, I had looked at my reflection in the glass window. It seemed like my reflection was one step ahead of me – I vocally blurted out something about the dream being "all about me". It was as if I was not in control of my voice or my reflection. Next, I looked outside the front door and saw the little boy next door, Nick, sitting shirtless on our front lawn. Each time I turned around and glanced his position had moved somewhat closer to the glass door, with his brother joining him in the latter glances. I thought this was weird. It almost had a eiri feel to it.

Mom pointed out the fireplace, with a fire going, in the other room. She told me to look at it – something else paranormal was happening, although I couldn't point it out. I remember thinking that fire was a good channel for these types of things - like connecting with nonphysical sources. I woke up with a minor scared feeling, but still get chills when I stink about Mimi and Grandpa John in relation to this dream.

_____________________________________________________

A common theme I notice in the first half of the dream is the ACs and the beetle with the "cold" sting. Cold is supposed to symbolize negative emotion? I had watched a Ranger's game last night where they lost, and I was definitely a little ticked during the game. The part where I felt possessed and blurted out that the dream was "all about me" interests me as well. I don't know what to think about this dream overall. It had a very powerful feeling to it, like I had a very direct connection to some sort of teaching program. What do you think?

Lastly, some strange synchronicity this morning. I've been unemployed the past few months and my Mom has been on my case about getting a job. She brought up the classified ads and placed them on my desk. She pointed out one of the ads was the work as a greeter at a funeral home, and as she walked out she jokingly said "How are you with dead people?"

Hey All! I'm working on this article which I am going to try and get posted on a popular website. I want to give a brief overview of the information pertaining to out-of-body experiences. It is a hard subject to cover in only a few pages. I have a concern that I am saying too much at some points, opening up unneeded cans of worms. Please give me your feedback. Criticism is welcome. I want to get this right. Keep in mind this is only the rough draft, so a lot of editing is still needed.
Thank for reading!

In this article I hope to clarify and demystify the out-of-body experience (OBE). Out-of-body experiences are phenomena which have been given many names and attributed many beliefs throughout the centuries, spanning many cultures. Think Muhammad's night journey, shamanic soul flight and contemporary alien abduction phenomena. Although I am not writing this article in a vacuum, I will try and put belief and cultural conditioning on the back burner.

Every night when we fall asleep we leave the body. You may have even found yourself jolting yourself awake to this falling sensation. There are numerous other "bodies" our consciousness can occupy – they seem to be separated by vibration, or level of density – the physical body being the densest. These different bodies operate in different locals of the non-physical universe. One local is where most people recall dream experiences. This specific area seems to be almost entirely subjective in nature, meaning what is encountered is projected from your own experience.

Now I used the word local in the previous paragraph to describe areas of non-physical reality. This is a misnomer. Location is a product of space-time physical reality conditioning. It is more accurate to think of consciousness as a spectrum, which can be freely traversed regardless of space and time. Think of how a light wave can be broken up into different colors displaying a rainbow. Physical reality and a standard dream, for example, would be two colors originating from the same source – your individuated consciousness. More objective areas experienced while out-of-body would be another color of the spectrum. There is no space, as we think of it in physical reality terms, separating these experiences – just the channel you, individuated consciousness, are tuned into. Explorer Robert Monroe coined the word "focus" to delineate the different experiences that can be had when ones consciousness is phased, or tuned, to different parts of the spectrum.

Belief and conditioning are a tricky subject. No one likes to hear that their experiences may be shaped by forces unknown to their conscious mind. We like to think we are seeing the world objectively. Albet Einstein said, "we can't solve problems by using the same kind of thinking we used when we created them." Well, it is our conditioned beliefs which have, for the most part, shut us off from nonphysical reality. Here in the contemporary West we are born into a culture that treats these experiences with dismissal or ridicule. It is actually quite common for children to have OBEs. Do you remember a childhood experience of flying around your house and neighborhood? "It's only a dream" your parents told you. For us adults, other than remembering a few jumbled fragments from nightly dreams, most people are completely tuned into channel central – waking reality. Conditioning and belief systems bombard you from the day you are born. They come from religion, culture, the scientific paradigm and everywhere else. There was a time we thought a flat Earth was the center of the Universe. Similarly, we now falsely believe the brain is the sole producer of consciousness in a material Universe. Modern science is having trouble reconciling this paradigm with quantum phenomena such as nonlocal and wave-particle duality. In truth, the physics and metaphysics surrounding out-of-body experiences have little bearing on the actual experience. At first all one needs to do is open oneself up to the possibility of these experiences.

There are numerous techniques to achieve an OBE. They all involve a degree of physical relaxation and mental concentration. Both come from practice. The goal of physical relaxation is to get your body to fall asleep, while your mind stays awake.

A simple technique for achieving physical relaxation involves tensing and subsequently relaxing muscle groups of the body. Tense the toes, count five seconds, relax the muscles – feel the relaxation. Work your way up the entire body – toes, feet, calves, thighs, abdomen, arms, chest, neck, face... I missed a few here. Some people can relax the body by simply bringing awareness to specific parts and making mental commands such as "relax now." Keeping the mind awake is relatively simple if these exercises are practiced during the day, away from normal sleep cycles.

Now, this sort of thing takes some practice. Could you ride a bike the first shot? If you were like me you had training wheels, or started off on a big wheel. If you're in the majority, you're not familiar with recognizing these in-between states of consciousness. You are familiar with waking up and going to sleep, but not controlling or witnessing the process. With some practice, you will find your body warm, heavy and stiff. This state of consciousness, mind-awake and body-asleep, is your launch pad for an OBE.

Speaking of training wheels, the Monroe Institute offers a series of CDs which utilize a technology call Hemi-Sync (i.e, The Gateway Experience). The CDs, when listened to with headphones, use a series of sound frequencies and tones, along with the guiding voice of Robert Monroe, to synchronize the hemispheres of the brain and enter the different focuses (such as the trance state).

Note: Some people report entering the "vibrational stage" after attaining the previously described trance state (mind-awake, body-sleep). I've had this experience on a few occasions. It can be quite frightening to the uninitiated, but there is nothing to fear for it is as natural as a sneeze. The vibrational stage is the feeling of intense energy rushing through your body which may be accompanied by a loud crackling-static sound. Author William Buhlman aptly describes it as your 'mind and body in a jet engine'. The vibrations subside quickly. I speculate this phenomenon is caused by the movement of consciousness along the spectrum from the dense physical body to the less dense subtle body. You will recognize this experience if you come across it. Try and remain calm and 'go with it.'

After finding yourself in the trance state you are ready to project (OBEs are often referred to as Astral Projection in some literature). Visualization techniques such as imagining yourself floating out of your body, climbing a latter or rolling out of your body work for many people. Experiment with techniques and find what works for use. For those who are not visually inclined, author Robert Bruce in his book Astral Dynamics devised a projection technique involving "tactile imagining", which essentially uses the sense of touch to aid in initiated the OBE.

The other way to project is to utilize the already sleep-prone body. When you wake up in the middle of the night the body is already sleepy and easily moved into the state of deep physical relaxation. Set your alarm clock to wake yourself up approximately four to five hours into your night sleep, after a few REM/dream cycles. Walk around for a few minutes, wash your face –  so you don't fall asleep too quickly. Get back in bed and repeat an affirmation as you fall back asleep to the effect of "Now I am out-of-body" or "I wish to experience an OBE." Visualize yourself walking around a room in your house – pick a few items in that room and rotate through them to keep your concentration. With a little luck, as you fall back asleep this will initiate the OBE. You may "wake up" quickly after falling asleep and find yourself in the vibrational state, or even slip off into a dream which converts into an OBE (more on this another time). You may simply find yourself already out-of-body in the real time zone (RTZ), which looks very similar to waking reality.  Beginning projectors usually find themselves in an area which looks nearly identical to their physical house or bedroom, expect with notable reality fluctuations.

Note: People who have been plagued with sleep paralysis may have been given a blessing in disguise. Explorer Albert Taylor, in Soul Traveler, describes how he utilized the still sleeping, or sleep paralyzed body, to have OBEs. Getting your body into the trance state is essentially getting your body into the sleep paralyzed state – however in the latter the work is done for you!

The experiences reported when out-of-body are remarkable. Explorers report communication with deceased loved ones, other intelligent species, spirits etc. What is perceived seems to reflect the beliefs and expectations of the perceiver. Explorers report reliving "past" (another misnomer) lives and events in their current physical experience. Explorers report visiting other worlds including what is described as belief territories – heavens and hells which are co-created and sustained by the individuated consciousness' which inhabit it. This is just a taste of what can be experienced.

In the previous paragraph I mentioned "belief territories." This leads to an important point. While out-of-body thought equals action. This is where the second component comes into play – mental discipline. If your thoughts are out of control while having an OBE, you are not going to have good control over the experience. Meditation in one practice to help tame our restless minds. Start with just fifteen to twenty minutes a day, and then move to twice a day. Here is a simple meditation technique – repeat a mantra. You can find many online. It doesn't have to mean anything. Repeat it over and over again, follow your breath. With enough practice you will be able to access a quiet point. Another simple technique is to follow ones breath – count onnnnnnnnnnnnnnneeeeeee during the in-breath and twwwwwwwwwooooo during the out-breath. Count up to ten and repeat. Take deep breaths from your belly. See if you can get to ten without getting distracted.

So what is all this OBE jazz really about? Well, for me it is the experience of a lifetime. Does this concept not excite you? Does it not bring some magic back into your life? It is all open for exciting exploration! I believe we are moving into a new paradigm here in elementary school-Earth, and exploring the nonphysical aspects of ourselves will be a large part of the future. This type of exploration will lead you to reevaluate all of the core beliefs you have about the human experience and life itself. It will cause you to grow in ways currently unimaginable. It will change how you define and perceive yourself. The experiences are about learning to diffuse fear with experience, with knowledge. It's all about growth, which I believe the human experience is ultimately about. Look at Earth as a school for individuated consciousness.

I don't want people to think I am portraying out-of-body experience as the only way or the true way to experience what I have been terming non-physical reality. There are other systems which work. Author Robert Moss utilizes a method which he calls "conscious dreaming", which is essentially relaxing the body and using shamanic drumming to quiet the mind and re-enter dreams. It's all slightly different methods which produce the same effect. I do, however, find the contemporary OBE paradigm as the most easily assimilated and understood by a contemporary Western audience. It is free of many of the belief complexes which have shaped the experiences of past systems – such as tantric meditators and shamans.

This article can only scratch the surface of what the out-of-body experience is all about. I hope to have incited some curiosity causing you to pursue this subject further. It is important to understand that the map is not the territory. You can read about these experiences all day and night, but ultimately you need to experience them yourself and form your own opinions – explore the territory. Maps can be helpful, and the following authors have been invaluable in my own journey: Robert Monroe, William Buhlman, Robert Moss, Jane Roberts, Robert Bruce and Thomas Campbell.

My grandpa died this past year. He was a very bitter and unapproachable man in his life. He had very little relationship with his family. On his deathbed I wanted to tell him not to be scared, to ask for a guide on the other side... but I was scared myself. My ego got in the way and I just couldn't get around to talking to him about this stuff.

I keep having these dreams dealing with him. When he was dieing the dreams would involve me kind of lecturing him on spiritual issues. Another dream involved me finding him in a dark room and bringing him into a more well lit area. I've had a dream where his ghost/shell/essence kind of came at me and I felt this burning feeling, like my energy was being drained.

Just last night I had a dream where I was at a funeral. My grandpa was at the funeral - arguing with my grandmother as he did in life. At one point the dream cut to a new scene where I sat down on the couch next to my grandfather. I remember looking into his blue eyes - the whole situation seemed almost surreal, but I wasn't completely lucid. He told me that he "doesn't have anyone." I told him he needs to look inside himself to find everyone. I wish I could have given him better advise. My fear started to get in the way and his face became kind of distorted right before I woke up.

I guess I am writing to see if anyone has any kind of experience with this sort of thing. I feel like I have responsibility to help him. But my own fear towards these sort of things always clouds the situation. Has anyone ever had similar situations?

Welcome to Out of Body Experiences! / Dream to OBE
February 03, 2011, 17:15:18
I drift off to sleep after waking up about 4 hours in doing the affirmation "Now I am out of body" while doing various visualizations - I visualize and feel myself walking around my house or climbing a ladder. It takes me a while to fall asleep. I find myself in a dream where I am in a dentist waiting room. Caesar Milan is the receptionist and he is playing some sort of mind game with the patients to save people money. The girl who sat to the left of Grieco in East Asian Philosophy class is also there in the waiting room. We talk about how we were in the same home room during high school. She remembers when I was selling candy bars.

Next I find myself in a car. I may have been on middle country road. I'm trying to turn the car around to drive the other way but I need to wait for the momentum of the car to slow down. Eventually I kind of swing myself in the other lane. I see a car flying about 30 feet above the road in the other lane. I find this weird. Next I feel myself kind of floating and turning in the air. I'm afraid that I have crashed my car but soon realize I am floating out of my body in my bed! At this point I am lucid and very excited. I feel very low of energy and disorientated. I make the command "clarity now" which allows me to see for a few seconds, but I am soon back to not being able to see. I try to fly out of my wall hoping I will be able to see outside but I get disorientated and wake up in my bed.

This was very frustrating! I've been trying to get OOB nonstop for the past few days and I finally did it and screwed it up! lol Anyone have any tips for dealing with this disorientated low energy phenomena?

This happened about a year ago:

First the dream started out at my house at home. I walked outside to notice I could hardly see very far in front of me - It was a dark night. I walked into the street because I felt I had to get somewhere. All of a sudden I noticed I was surrounded by these creatures in the street. They resembled the monsters from a video game I used to play. They were demonic looking slug-raptors... hard to describe.

I had to be careful where I was walking, for these creatures would jump a straight line at me and I could avoid them if I was keen on my dodging. As I made my way through the dark street, I was soon surrounded by Vampires. What seemed to be the "boss" Vampire approached me. He was very weird looking, he had a fake pair of eyes which covered his true face - he took his hands and molded his face like play dough, which eventually showed his true eyes. He claimed he hadn't "fed in a year", and I would rejuvenate his body. The Vampires made it known that it was the "metallics" in peoples blood which sustained them.

Next the dream cuts to a false awakening. I'm laying in my bed, and I get this distinct telepathic message from my cousin (who at this point I felt was with me at the Vampires) that we need to reenter the dream and do justice, and we need to "Find the fire within." All of a sudden I realize one of the vampires is in my room with me!

We began to fight and struggle. This part of the dream was so vivid, nearly lucid, that I would later wake up in a sweat and chills. I remember distinctly the texture of his hair, and thinking this is really happening. The vampire looked almost like the Joker from the newest Batman movie, but had a red face with I black stripes (almost like a Darth Maul). Eventually I began to overpower the creature, and started to repeatedly punch him in the face. Soon enough it clicked in my head that I must be dreaming! Now lucid, I began to repeat the mantra aloud 'Om Mani Padme Hum' and almost instantaneously the creature melted away to the floor. Feeling relieved, the dream now began to fade into black...

I find myself laying in my bed in the trance state - mind awake body asleep. My energy body begins to turn over to face the ceiling (I was laying on my stomach). I begin to picture myself floating out of my body, and I begin to move towards the ceiling. I remember seeing the shadow of my floating body move along the floor. I felt no projection related symptoms. At this point I am completely lucid, in what I believe is a successful projection. I floated down through my floor/wall and then outside to notice my town is slightly different. I see my girlfriend walking up the street towards me, and I simply fly past and say Hi and move further towards Main street towards her house. My plan was to see her in her bed, and then force myself awake with hopes of remembering the projection.

I began to flap my arms with the intent to increase my flying speed (this really works!). At one point I passed what seemed to be the Chedderchimos (a recurring dream theme) house. I made my way around town and had the idea to fly high into the sky for quicker travel and a better view. As I got to the rooftop area of a building, I got this mild fear of heights, and I lost my ability to fly. I grabbed onto a roof ledge, and thought "This is going to hurt" as I let go. I land on this table and crush it with my feet. A girl was walking around next to the table and I scared the crap out of her when I landed. My vision began to fade into black as I awakened...

________________________________________________________________________

When I woke up and regained my bearing, I tried to assimilate what I had experienced. These events felt both simultaneously in the distant past and just to have happened. I'm beginning to think I may have either projected into a lucid dream or dreamed I was projecting while I was in a lucid dream (I don't know the difference!). My bout with the Vampire seemed to be some sort of trial over fear to gain my subsequent lucid state. If I did project into the real time zone, why did I see my girlfriend among other people? As I was projecting, why did I experience what seemed to by my projected body's shadow, is this common? Anyone have any thoughts?

Hello All.

I've had a handful of spontaneous OBE and lucid dream experiences ever since I became infatuated with the subject a couple years back (still have trouble telling the two apart  :-o ). I was able to reach the vibrational stage within my first week of reading Buhlman's Adventures Beyond the Body, but it seems I don't get the heavy energy sensations anymore. Most of my experiences now occur when I'm falling back to sleep in the middle of the night or when I become semi-lucid in dreams. What I do is I will focus my attention on the "energy of the body", which I suppose is Robert Bruce's Tactile Imaging technique. This seems to bring about some energy sensations when I find myself in the body-relaxed state, which then leads to my subtle body sort of "rolling" or floating out of my body.

Just tonight I took a nap and found myself in a dream where I was sleeping at my Aunt's house on the floor. The dream sort of ended and I found myself in that limbo state between sleep and waking. I focused on the feeling of my body, and after having my usual 'bout with doubt' and fear, I felt myself roll and float out of my body. I found myself on my driveway which is about 30 feet diagonal towards the ground from my room on the second story of my house. I was very excited about being out of body and I attempted flying as I usually do. But like always, I feel like I have a ball and chain weighing me down - I simply can't fly fast and high into the sky. I suspect the cause is doubts or subconscious fears? I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on how to overcome and transcend this blockage. I can still fly, it just seems weighed and I often lose control and gravitate towards the ground. I feel like I have a voice behind the voice in my head, like an inner critic which is always thinking of the worst case scenario.

The OBE itself was pretty amazing, regardless if my flying was weighed down. The stars were so vibrant. The moon shown brightly behind a small patch of blue clouds. When I attempted to explore a part of my neighborhood (which has been the topic of some interesting dreams) I lost focus and awoke. At one point I remember thinking I wanted to meet my spirit guide and I thought I saw a crab hanging out in a tree.

Well, thanks for reading. Any advise or comments welcome!

I have been trying to project a lot lately, waking myself up in the middle of the night to ensure 2-3 projection attempts per night. The only success I have had in projecting was from a lucid dream conversion, which I ended up in the basement of my house. During this specific experience as I was coming to waking consciousness a sinister sounding voice spoke to me for a few moments (the "dream voice" described by Wilcock).

I've been trying a combined visualization/affirmation technique for the past couple days. This method has brought me to the vibrational stage several times before, yet nothing recently.

One of my later dreams of the night was very interesting, and I interpreted it as a threat from my shadow self:

I was walking with my little brother home from the park when a police van drove up next to us. A man got out and began to question us and walk with us the few blocks back to my house. He questioned us and showed me a few pictures of a suspect that had robbed a Toys'R'Us recently. I didn't deny that the person in the pictures looked exactly like me, and I had remembered in the dream that I had projected a few days earlier and was in a Toys'R'Us. The suspect in the pictures looked exactly like me except he wore a black shirt with yellow writing on it that I did not own. As we got back to my house I told my Mom the story, and she remembered that I had told her about my OBE where I smashed my brothers windows and was in a Toys'R'Us. As soon as she said this I noticed this "copy" of myself, or at least the sense of him, standing in my front doorway. All the lights in my house suddenly snapped off and I awakened.

I have never had this Toys'R'Us projection in RL, is was something my dream self identified with. Is my shadow trying to scare or warn me from projecting? Ken Wilber says the shadow will try and screw you up along your spiritual progress... how can I make peace with this part of myself? Can anyone think of any other interpretations?

Hello All!

After hearing an interview with William Buhlman about Astral Projection I've become obsessed with the subject!
So I ordered three books on Astral Projection to read over break, Adventures Beyond the Body by William Buhlman, Ultimate Journey by Robert Monroe, and Astral Dynamics by Robert Bruce.

I am already on to the second book, Buhlmans, which gives you in the first chapter two ways of inducing a OBE:

Just before falling asleep, repeating the affirmation "Now I'm Out of Body" and visualizing in as much detail as possible a room in your house/residence. I used my parents living room because I'm home for winter break.

To my surprise this technique worked for me my first night! As I drifted into sleep I began to get this strange sensation that vibrations were taking over my body, then came the loud noise which Buhlamn calls "your body and mind in a jet engine." This noise startled the hell out of me, and I woke up before transitioning. I'm still very excited with my progress, and am training myself not to be startled the next run at it.

Last night I went at it round two. I repeated the affirmations and tried to visualize the living room for what seemed like hours, with no luck. I woke up in the morning 8 hours later disappointed and with no dream recollection of the night before :/.

Should I stick with this technique because it almost worked for me once before, or move to try something different? I do remember a strange sensation last night before I fell asleep, it wasn't a ringing in the ears but felt more like a pressure in the ear. I almost remember feeling like I was moving forward into my closed eye field of vision. Is this a normal sensation of the energy body separating?

Thanks in advance for any replys!
