I have two questions that have to do with the Astral Senses.

According to the sticky topic astral hearing is the noise one hears the easiest just before falling asleep and just after waking up.

I know this noise, I can hear it at any time I please.  I have a question about it though:Do you know that that is what hearing in the astral sounds like in personal experience?

I don't know, but I have a different idea of what that noise is, if not that (I guess it could be both..)  Could that noise be a direct attribute of what brain wave one is in?  I have noticed that the louder the noise is, the deeper I am.

For my other question:
If it really is astral hearing, and one is able to cultivate this astral sense, without projecting, what other astral senses can one train when not projecting?

"The five astral senses are:

Clairaudiance (astral hearing), Psychometry (astral touch/feeling), Clairvoyance (astral sight), Imagination (astral equivalent of taste), and Emotional Idealism (astral equivalent of smell)."

I gathered from the post that it would be beneficial to learn to be able to hear with one's "astral hearing" because it helps when one is actually projecting.  Well I already know how to use my "astral hearing," but that is only one of 5 astral senses, how can I train the other four when I am not projecting?

In other words, without projecting, how can I become accustomed to my astral senses without projecting so that I may improve them when not projecting?  When in my everyday life do my astral senses activate like my "astral hearing" does before I go to sleep and after I wake up?

Sorry if these questions have been asked, I tried using the search feature but it wouldn't work for some reason.

Thanks

I have been doing NEW every day for the past three weeks and I can barely feel any energy.

If anyone had any alternatives to NEW or suggestions for NEW I would appreciate it.

Thanks

I was reading some methods on how to achieve mind awake and body asleep, I am not sure if I am doing this right but I am achieving that end.  All I do is stay completely still with my mind blank and after a while my body just falls asleep on its own, from not moving at all.  Is this method OK?  It isn't very scientific but my body falls asleep.

You failed to mention in your post that the
Bill's you refer to S89 and HR 163 were all written by and
co-sponsored by Democrats.

These are links to the bills:

You are correct in that it is important we all vote.

You wrote: "The administration is quietly trying to get these bills passed now, while the public's attention is on the elections, so our action on this is needed immediately."

I believe this statement is untrue and that you can not support it.

No Rebuplicans are on record as supporting these bill's.
I can only assume the required action would be to vote Rebublican.

The truth will set you free!

Well those actions are ok for the beginner to visualize something, but when you got trained you don't use them as said in NEW anymore. It's just to get a start on specific aera, but aftet that you can use either of them on any zone of your body. Just do as it feels the most natural for you and it'll work.

To answer some of your questions:

1) Whatever works best for you really.

2) Whatever works for you.

5) It is kind of hard to say. You have to know for yourself as there is no general time table. When you can do all the exercise with no problems and feel the energy easily as a whole. Like when you can feel the energy as a whole in the whole hand, foot, etc with no problems then you do not really need to continue doing all the work on each joint but can start working with just the larger area.

Welcome to Spiritual Evolution! / The Noise

All I know about that noise is what I have experienced myself, and what I have read about it in the ebook www.thefreedomofchoice.com .

It can actually be a method of astral projection, called concentration on the 'Inner Sound'. If you attempt to intensify that noise, concentrating hard on it, eventually it will become very very 'loud', but it 'leads' you to your higher-self. Eventually you'll see the light of your higher-self, at the end of a long tunnel. You are correct, the noise does come from within.

Welcome to Astral Chat! / Explain this

Red and green are complimentary colors. If you were to draw a red line, stare at it for a while and then close your eyes, you should see a green line with your eyes closed. Perhaps, the red scarf was hitting your peripheral vision and casting a green hue among everything else. These are along the lines of seeing an aura (I think).

First, were the speakers powered from the power strip or were they on batteries?  If no batteries and unplugued... hum... that is weird indeed!

Good job. I more or less agree with Tom's opinions but that guy does seem a more than little psychotic. He ecourages people to think for themselves but if you don't believe the same thing as him your wrong. What a guy! Fortunately this forum exists where good points won't be supressed.

It does not make you an alcoholic to drink every weekend. An alcoholic drinks during the week too.

Why is it your business how much he drinks? What does he do when he's drunk?

It is always ok to do energy work even if you get sick. You can use energy to heal yourself.

depends what you want the music for, if its for medetation, I would say do a search for sounds of nature on kazaa. Otherwise, personally, I like to listen to Shpongle (really weird psychadelic trance)

I've never heard about that before. Where did you hear this?

Men probably meant the general term men like human or people of their race, such as mankind means all humans not just men. It is really hard to say who actually said this. Was it Michel who was just telling it or did Thao actually use the term men? Since he wrote this after the fact I doubt he remembers the exact words used, so it was probably Michel who used the term men. Being of one sex he sees things as such and so choose the term men, but I think in the general use and not to designate sex. Remember he had a hard time seeing them as both male and female and referred to Thao as female. If Thao did use the term men, then Thao would see the word differently than you and I. Thao would probably not think of the word men as meaning the male sex since Thao is use to their race not being of one sex, so the word men simply means mankind, people of their race.

Scratch an itch and let it go.

Often the itches are caused by our mind becoming so calm that the random firings of the nerves register on a conscious level. If you can ignore them, and I mean not just hope they go away but ignore as if it weren't there, then scratch and pay no more attention to it.

Give the Deep Meditation CD from Brain Sync a try. It would seem to meet the requirements you want: i.e., no one talking, and getting you to a relaxed state. I don't believe a CD can be a crutch unless we let it. It's just a good way to get the ball rolling, and the binaural frequencies are good for that hemispheric synchronization effect. The cost for the Cd is $14.95 (USD) so it is somewhat affordable. You can read about it at the Brain Sync website:

No matter how hard a person could possibly try, one could Never hurt themself practicing NEW.. This is one of those exercises, where only good could come from it, if anything should happen. I think that the only way someone could hurt themselves by doing NEW, is if they were trying so hard, and not getting any results, that they 'hurt' their head by thinking too hard.... not even from this practice. Go ahead and practice NEW all you want, without fear.. Infact, the more you practice, the better it'll be! Best of luck!

i dont think its a bad idea at all. anything you can do to help in the begining is a good idea. the most important thing to do (in my opinion) is to record what you remember in a dream journal. its been my experiance that the more attention you pay to your dreams the more you will remember them, the clearer and more realistic they will be. if after a couple of months you find you cant recall a single dream on the nights you dont play the music, then i would start to be concerned.  hope this helps-

I would suggest "Journeys out of the body" by Robert Monroe.it was written around 1970, and it's THE classic in the subject of astral travel.it also contains some great exercises, which worked for me.

Ahh.. A beginning member that doesn't ask for jing blast lessons. At long last, a worthy student [:)].

Well you're only limited by your own imagination buddy. Think outside the square. Do the NEW full body circuits while you're watching TV, on the computer, talking with friends, whatever. It only takes a small bit of focus to do.

If you are in the earlier stages, however, just set yourself a little bit of time before you go to bed and after you wake up or something to do a little bit of development work.

You can set aside meditation days if you're doing a schedule.

Another thing for schedules is physical exercise - that seems to get my energies flowing. In the holidays I am planning to run down to the park on the other side of the bridge and do some meditation in the bushes there.

For even more variety, try altering the areas where you practice your meditation and energetic development. Sometimes you could get different results from meditating/developing in your room than you would in the park.

The NEW system as mentioned in Astral Dynamics is really easy to incorporate into daily life. You don't really have to set aside any time for it unless you really feel the need to.

As for meditation and things like that during practice times just alter what you do before you practise, what times you practise, and of course where you practise.

If you really want to make a difference then all I can suggest to you is keep at it and do the body circuits as much as you can. If you're dedicated you might even set aside times of the day where you lie in bed and just raise energy.
