I've been attempting astral projection since about mid october now and i know it can take from a few months to decades before you have a decent projection but i still feel as if i've hit some sort of wall in my progress until i can clear some things i dont know if i understand correctly. I see nothing confusing about the actual projection itself but more about getting there.

I have projected before, sometime during november, but it was short. I was so amazed that i'd done it that i popped back into my body 5 or 6 seconds later. But wherever i go i hear that even a little alcohol inhibits our ability to project, yet i was quite drunk when the only projection i've ever managed occured.

Also i heared no sounds of people screaming or anything other people claim to have heared or felt... not even these vibrations i hear about. The only thing i noticed as it happened was a feeling that my face going through something like a thick gel (like Brylcreem or something  ) for about half a second and a noise that sounded similar to the sound you get when you cover your ears with your hands and then uncover them. next thing i knew i was floating 3 or 4 inches over my body and seeing the room around me much clearer than i believe i've ever seen it.

I've also had that sleep paralysis before and tried to move and been unable to. Unfortunately after realising i'm paralysed i'm once again free to move about half a second later, even if i want to stay paralysed. How am i supposed to know if i'm paralysed without causing myself to be set free of said paralysis? Should i just ignore the idea of being paralysed altogether?

Another thing im not sure about is the idea of these vibrations. People say they feel these vibrations yet fail to describe them in enough detail. are they just tingling size vibrations? small like an electric razor? medium like the rumble on a games console controller or strong like some sort of epileptic fit? or even weirder, does it get stronger the further into the astral you go?

I know my body itself shouldn't be trying to float but it keeps trying to anyways, even when i'm fully relaxed, it's like it gets a mind of its own... my chest just keeps lifting itself in the direction of the ceiling every now and then when i'm trying to project. got no control of it and dont notice until it starts to get uncomfortable.

In short how will i know for sure when i'm in focus 10 and what am i supposed to do about these vibrations? surely one must know what and how he's going to feel before he can try to induce such a feeling?

any advice or whatever would be greatly appreciated.
