Is it possible, while in the non-physical, to request to see someone else's spirit guide?  Is that possible?
#2
As I slept last night, I had some experiences in the non-physical.  First I was watching these big beings that didn't look human coming out of a building.  I didn't know what they were.  For some reason I asked them if they were angels.  i don't know why I asked that because they didn't even look like angels.  I don't think they were.  I didn't get a clear response from them.  I don't know why I wasn't afraid of them, but for some reason it never occurred to me to be afraid of them.

I was seeing some building that I was familiar with, but oddly some of the buildings and structures i was seeing shouldn't be there.  So I thought I must be seeing into the future.  I was with a few people, but I don't recall who, and asked them what year it was.  They didn't tell me.  This has happened to me many times in other non-physical experiences.  I find myself somewhere and something is different which leads me to believe I'm seeing the future or another place, but when I ask where I am or what year it is, I don't usually get a response.  Why am I having these kinds of experiences?  Are these experiences some kind of test?  I think it was the book OtherWhere that talked about how guides test us.  They put us in an environment to see if we'll become lucid or continue to lose ourselves in the dream.  Maybe they are showing me some buildings that are familiar to me and then mixing in some that are out of place to see if it triggers me to become lucid or whether I keep dreaming.  Is this normal for guides to test us like that?

Then I found myself in the presence of a female being who was whisking me off to another place.  I have heard about this happening to other people in astral projection books.  I asked if she was my guide and she said yes, and told me her name which was something like DeDe Jean.  It's about freaken time I had a guide introduce themselves.  I was beginning to think I didn't have a guide.

She took me to a spot that was hard to describe.  It was like I was on a roof but it was a closed in area.  There were lots of plants around and I noticed a paint roller in my hand.  I thought - I know what this is, it's a test to see if I lose myself in the dream imagery or whether I become lucid.  I also remember that book talking about how your guides will put you in a closed in place and see if you can make it out of the place or whether you get lost in dreaming.  If you make it out of the closed in space you are free to travel in OtherWhere - non-physical locations outside the dream zone.  Knowing that it might be a test, I saw a door and I was going to try to leave the closed in space, but then I woke up.  :(

Anyway, why am I just now seeing a guide when I haven't before?  And why are they now starting to test me?

Kurt Leland says that we are growing and evolving spiritually. I guess this is the purpose of life.  He said people who have been astral projecting for a long time, over time graduate from one body and plane to the next.  Just as he did and as Robert Monroe did throughout his three books.  And as we go to higher and higher planes we get closer and closer to returning to Source/God.

So does anybody know how we grow spiritual so that we can rise to the next body and plane?  What is required of us?  Is the requirement different for each plane?  And how does reincarnation factor in to all of this?

Welcome to Dreams! / How could ALL dreams be OBEs?
September 24, 2018, 05:01:10
I've read Xanth's post and book, so I'm familiar with his theory that dreams, lucid dreams, and astral projections are all different levels of awareness in the non-physical.  And this made sense to me - I've even experienced shifting between all three in the same OBE.  So it did seem that all three were OBEs just with different levels of awareness.

But, there have been times like yesterday when I layed down on the couch and with in moments I found myself dreaming up something behind my closed eye lids.  Then I opened my eyes again and I know for a fact that I did not project out of my body while dreaming that short dream.  Think about daydreams as another example.  We're not out of the physical body and in the non-physical when daydreaming, so how could ALL dreams be OBEs with a lower level of awareness?  It seems like some dreams are taking place behind closed eyes while still in the body.  So how do you explain this?

I know when I shifted through all three states (levels of awareness) I didn't go from dream awareness back to vibrating and separating before realizing I was out of my body.  I didn't have to separate from the body, it was as if I was already separated and in the non-physical all along and just shifted my awareness.  But I have heard someone else report that they went from dreaming to vibrating and separating before realizing they were out of their body.

So how could ALL dreams be OBEs?

So what is the tunnel and light at the end of the tunnel all about?  People sharing their near death experiences often report this, but today on another forum I heard a guy say he experienced this and it doesn't sounds like his experience was a near death experience.  It sounded like he was just having an non-physical experience.  Is that normal for people to experience this in their astral projection experiences?  I thought we just experience it when we die.  What do you reckon this tunnel is exactly?

I'm reading Kurt Lelands book "Otherwhere", and he shares some of his stories in the non-physical.  In one story he was going to visit a shadow world as he calls it, and the guide was able to read his thoughts.  I guess communication in the non-physical is actually in the form of telepathy.

So does that mean even when we dream that we're talking to someone like we do in the physical that it's actually happening telepathically?

And how does reading someone's thoughts work in the non-physical?  I'm assuming you can't read everybody's thoughts at the same time because that would be too overwhelming.  So I'm assuming you would have to focus upon making a connection with the person somehow in order to read their thoughts?  Has anybody here ever experienced reading someone else's thoughts in the non-physical?  How do you do that?

Welcome to Dreams! / The Dream Zone
September 18, 2018, 03:00:17
In Kurt Lelands's book "Otherwear", he says there is a region in the non-physical reserved for people who are dreaming.  He calls it the Dream Zone. Just as there is a region for people who have just died.  He calls that the After Death zone.  So I have a couple of questions about this.

1.  There are billions of people dreaming at the same time, how are our dreams in the dream zone kept separate?

2.  I have heard of people having shared dreams.  Is this rare, or are most of our dreams overlapping with other people's dreams?

3.  How do the gatekeepers or whatever you want to call them, keep billions of dreamers in the dream zone?  That doesn't seem like an easy task.

Welcome to Dreams! / Where do dreams take place?
April 10, 2018, 07:25:14
They say that our spirit separates from the body while sleeping and floats a few inches above it.  So when we start dreaming does our spirit and astral body leave the physical body completely and go off on the astral plane somewhere?  Is that where our dream takes place?  Or are we still near the physical body when dreaming and just imagining the dream in our mind?  Or is it a combination of the two?  And if it's a combination of the two, then how do you know whether a dream is taking place in your head (imagination), or whether it's taking place on one of the astral planes?

Welcome to Dreams! / the limitations in dreams
April 10, 2018, 07:15:08
I've had dreams where I was flying horizontally like superman and I could go really fast.  And I've had other dream we're I was trying to run away from someone and I seemed to be running in slow motion, but yet going as fast as I could go.  Sometimes in dreams there seems to be a weight on me or something keeping me from moving very fast.  Why the differences in speed?  Are these dreams experiences taking place on different planes with different rule sets?  One being extremely dense and hard to move in compared to the other?

And I've had other dreams where I was sort of floating upward, to get away from beings on the ground that were trying to get me.  I would flap my arms to go higher and float up out of their reach.  But there was always a limit to how high I could go. I couldn't seem to go very high.  And I've had dreams where I've became fully aware, that is to say the experience turned into an astral projection. And I have floated really high above my house and saw it from above.  I didn't seem to have that limit keeping me from going that high.  Why the limit in one and not the other?  Did they take place in different planes with different rule sets?

Or is this more about the level of awareness that one has?  Is it that when you're unaware that you're dreaming then you're more bound by the rule sets of that plane that your dream is taking place on?  And when you gain awareness and become lucid you are less bound by the limits of the rule set of the plane?  And when you're fully conscious and astral projecting you're not bound by the limits of the plane at all?  Is that what is going on?

They say one way to test if you're dreaming is to flip a light switch on in the dream, and if you're dreaming the light will not come on right away.  I have noticed that this seems to be true in my experience.  If our thoughts manifest instantly on these planes, why not instant light changes?  Isn't that odd. Why this limitation?

A couple of books I've read have mentioned what they call the inner spheres.  I think the word "sphere" is just another name for plane - like the astral plane, but I'm not sure.  A sphere is a name for a round object so that's what comes to my mind when I hear the word sphere, but I'm pretty sure they're not talking about round objects.  Can someone explain to me in simple words what they're talking about when they talk about the inner spheres?

What about the physical world that we're in - is it also called a plane?  Is it called the physical plane?  Or the earth plane?  The earth is only part of the physical universe that we reside in so I would think "physical plane" would be more accurate than "earth plane".

Do beings that live in the astral planes have tv's like we do?  Do they watch tv?  What about the beings that can see us but we can't see them - do they see their tv's and our tv's?  If we have our tv's on does it make it difficult for them to hear their tv's over the sound of ours?

Do they eat and poop like we do?  Do they have to eat or is that optional?  I know their bodies vibrate on at a higher frequency, but do they have internal organs like us?  Do they have to eventually poop after they eat?

Do they have vehicles like we do in the physical?  I know that when we astral project we can travel from one location to another instantly, but can they do that too?

I heard they don't have jobs or money, is that true?

I heard they have houses but they don't build them like we do, they create theirs with their minds - thoughts manifest instantly in the astral planes.  Is that true?

I heard that the astral plane that they're on seems just as real to them as this physical world does to us. So does that mean they can't move through walls or solid objects with their astral bodies like we can when we astral project to the astral plane?

Do their bodies die like ours do?  Can they be killed and lose their astral body and end up on another plane in another body?

We were outside my mom's apartment. someone was with me and they got in the car and was waiting on me because we had to go to school. I had something on the ground that I didn't want to leave outside so I was going to take it inside my mom's house. I was also thinking I would get a soda even though I don't normally drink soda.

I was having trouble getting in her house and concerned that I might be late for school. I was getting really angry about it and I was complaining loudly. Some guy overheard me and said "Do you think I should preach". I thought he was implying that I needed preached to. I said "I don't care" meaning I could care less what you do.

This was an apartment building and this woman falls out of her front door next to the door I was at. I holler for help, but these people weren't paying attention to me even though there were about three of them coming up the stairway.

The scene shifts and now it's like I'm hearing my mom and aunt talking and my aunt is telling my mom the least amount of energy you need to function at work.

Why am I trying to get into my mom's house? Why am I concerned that I'm going to be late for school? What does the woman falling out the door symbolize? What does the "do you think I should preach" guy symbolize? Any ideas? I don't have any desire to preach myself so I don't see how he could symbolize an aspect of me.

I was taking an afternoon nap on the couch.  I saw a black dot that looked like a bug on the white couch near me.  I guess I saw it with my astral eyes because I couldn't move - I was in sleep paralysis.  I tried hard to wake up because I didn't want the bug to crawl on me.  It wasn't actually a bug, i just thought it was.

In my attempt to wake up and get up I drempt the top part of my body fell out of the couch and onto the floor.  I realized that it was my astral body separating from the physical so i thought I should try to roll out of my body.  First I rocked my astral body back and forth to build up some momentum and then I rolled out of my body and onto the floor.  It was easy.  I found myself face down on the floor.  Then I floated up and immediately called for my spirit guide because I wanted to ask if there was some way I could heal my body (lung problem).  Of course I woke up before seeing my spirit guide.  :(

I have a very difficult time reaching the vibration stage.  I can usually meditate for an hour and still not reach the vibration stage.  It is very very rare that I reach the vibration stage.

I'm wondering if there is any sound frequency that I can listen to that will make it easier for me to reach the vibration stage.  I know there are lots of frequencies on Youtube, probably even some for astral projecting, but will any of them bring me to the vibration stage quicker?

Some christians talk about getting filled with the Holy Spirit.  I've experienced it myself after praying to be filled with the Spirit a few years ago.  I just wanted to know what it felt like.

I felt energy swirling in my solar plexes and then the energy rose up into my chest and I felt like I was floating.  I looked down to make sure my feet were still touching the ground and they were.

Other people I know have had similar experiences in church.  I have had a couple of other experiences in church too.  One time it felt like energy moving down my chakras.  Which reminds me of the line in the bible that says "the Spirit descended on Jesus like dove", which I assume is talking about the same thing.  Another time I felt energy rise up my chakras.

In the east they talk about kundalini experiences which sounds like the exact same thing to me.  What do you think?

What exactly is this experience that I'm talking about?  On another forum someone told me that it is really about letting more of your soul into your body.  Would you agree with that?  Is that what is happening?

I have a theory that being filled with the Holy Spirit might be our experience of the quantum field.  Your body is made up of particles that constantly blink in and out of existence from a wave state (energy) to a solid state (particles).  So an experience of being filled with the Holy Spirit or a kundalini experience, could be our experience of the quantum field - experiencing yourself as energy rather than solid. What do you think?

I'm also thinking that when you experience the "vibration stage" before astral projecting, that could also be your experience of the quantum field.  What do you think?

I know I've read a book or two that talked about soul groups, but I don't recall which ones they were.  Anyway, I want to know more about soul groups and soul mates.

Is it true that we have groups in the spirit world?
Is it true that we incarnate with members of our soul group?  Is that what a soul mate is - a member from your soul group?
Is that why people feel like they've always known their soul mate forever or feel a connection with them that they can't explain?
Do our soul mates or members of our soul group look similar to us?  That could explain why some couples look similar.
Does the soul group have a purpose?
Does each soul groups have a higher self or oversoul that is over the group?

I was asleep dreaming that I was getting out of school when I became aware that I was out of my body.  I flew up into the air.  I had been wanting to have a lucid dream or obe so that I could talk to my spirit guide.  And now that I was having such an experience I decided to do just that.  I didn't want to call him or her to me because that didn't work for me in the past.  So this time I just had the intent to travel to my guide and off I went as if I were being pulled to my guide.

Suddenly I arrive and the trip to get there was very short.  Standing in front of me was some kind of animal or creature.  It growled at me and tried to scare me, but I just stood there fearlessly.  I said I wanted to see my spirit guide and it said "wait here a minute" and it turned and left the room as if it were going to get my guide.

That's when I realized I was in a room.  I started looking around, I wanted to remember everything I saw upon waking so I was paying attention to everything in the room.  It wasn't a very big room, but there were like 3 or 4 world maps on the wall.  I didn't notice if they were of earth.  I saw what looked like carpet on the floor, a bed, a tv (there was what looked like a dog food commercial on the tv).  I'm not sure if the tv had moving pictures on it, I just saw one image of dog food.  There was part of guitar hanging on the wall - a fret board.

Then unfortunately my grandpa started hollering for my dad and he woke me up so I didn't get to see my guide.

I would like to hear the thoughts of those of you that are more experienced.  Did I get close?  Any idea why there was a creature at my destination and why it would try to scare me?  Or why I didn't go directly to my guide?  Or why I had to wait for him/her?

I would like to learn more about the nonphysical places you can travel to so I thought I'd read Robert Monroe's books.  But I found his first book "Journeys out of the body" very confusing.  Are there any other good books out there for learning more about the nonphysical that aren't so confusing?  Or that can help me make sense of what Robert Monroe talks about in his books?

People talk about the different planes, such as the astral plane, the etheoric plane, the mental plane, etc.  When you astral project, how many different planes is it possible to go to?

Are there any books out there that talk about people's experiences in these different planes?

I've been wondering, whenever you capture an EVP or spirit voice on tape, are those beings on the astral plane?  And if so then you should be able to record yourself when you're astral projecting.  Can't any of you astral projectors that can project whenever you want test this out?  I see that there have already been two posts about this previously, yet nobody has done it.  Here's the other two posts:

There is this wistleblower on Youtube named Simon Parkes who has a lot of videos.  He talks about stuff like aliens, reptilians, and the Illuminati.  And in this video which I'm about to share he talks about how the earth is literally a prison planet.  He says that when you die your soul wants to go back to Source, but it can't because they (whoever they is) have surrounded the planet (in that dimension) with some kind of energetic force field.  A lot of people who have NDEs report seeing a light at the end of a tunnel and seeing their loved ones or Jesus or the Buddha (or whatever).  Simon says this is all a trick that they do to get our souls to come to them and if we do we will usually have to reincarnate on this planet again which is what they want.  They feed off of the fear and energy put out by humanity and that's why the want to keep us here - we're like batteries to them.  Simon says if we want to return to Source then you better not go to the light because it's a trick.

I've read a lot about NDEs and life-between-life regressions, but this is the first time I've heard this theory.  While he might be wrong, I always try to keep an open mind.  This world is pretty screwed up, so it really wouldn't surprise me any if there are also beings in that dimension (or whatever you want to call it) that are holding us here and forcing us to reincarnate again and again on this planet.

I thought it would be interesting to hear from people with astral projecting experience.  What do you think about this stuff?  Have you experienced a field that keeps you from going too far out from the planet?  I've heard that there might be holes in this force field, that it might not be a perfect field anymore.  And someone thought that it might depend upon your vibration as to whether you could go through it.  Someone else mentioned that it might be what is blocking our abilities like telepathy, and teleportation.  Even before I ever heard about this guy Simon, I have noticed from my flying lucid dream experiences that I do seem to be limited in how high I can go up.  Am I hitting this field?  I don't know.  What do you think?

Here's a link to the video.  Whether you watch the whole thing or not is up to you, I just want you to watch two spots where he briefly talks about this subject.  Starting from 1:11:37 - 1:12:55, and again at 1:54:18 onward.

Anybody knowledgeable about electronics?  I am wondering how difficult it would be to build a lucid dream mask and modify it.  Basically, I would like to have a lucid dream mask that will detect when I'm in REM or dreaming.  I want to have the option of either using it to become lucid, or use it for programming my subconscious mind while in the dream state.  It would be nice if there was a switch on it so that I could set it for lucid dreaming, or for subconscious programming.

When using it for lucid dreaming it would work like any other lucid dream mask - it would detect REM and alert you to the fact that you're dreaming by blinking LEDS in front of your closed eyelids.

When using it for programming the subconscious it would detect REM and then it would start playing a prerecorded message.  I don't know for sure, but I think programming while in the dream state might be more effective.  I think it would be cool to be able to talk to myself while I'm dreaming from outside the dream.  I might be able to use my own voice to become lucid if I wanted to instead of flashing lights in my eyes.  And I might be able to guide the dream in the direction I want it to go with my voice.  And maybe use it to learn a new language while sleeping, or for reprogramming my subconscious mind.

Could even make the recording on a computer and then transfer the sound file to the dream device if that would be easier to build.

I found a couple of sites that talk about building a lucid dream mask.  What I like about this first one is that he doesn't have the eyes covered up.  I would rather have one that doesn't cover up my eyes because that is annoying.  I think it would make it harder to fall asleep if I had my eyes covered up.  The second one seems to be better though.  He lists all of the electronic components you need and the schematics of putting it together.

http://cre.ations.net/creation/face-mounted-lucid-dreaming-mask

But, how easy would it be to build this and modify it to do what I want it to do?

I had a sexual dream last night.  I don't have them very often, but when they do occur I have like lucid awareness to some degree, or the thought that it's not really real.  So if I see a girl I will grab her, pull her pants down and go at it because I don't think she's real anyway.  During the experience I think I'm just dreaming and this girl is just made up by my mind.  It doesn't occur to me during the dream that I'm in the non-physical or that this girl could be a real being on the astral plane.  They're probably just thought forms of my mind in all likelihood, but what if they're not?  Could I be grabbing real beings in the astral plane and sexually forcing myself on them?

If dreams take place on the astral plane, how do you tell what the mind is making up from what it's not?

I'm surely not the only one with this problem.  I like to lay back in the recliner when practicing AP, but my mouth wants to hang open.  A relaxed jaw seems to hang open.  If you close you mouth it creates tension in the jaw muscles.  This is not so much a problem when you're sitting up right as it is when you're laying back in a recliner.  But, I feel it will be easier to AP if I'm laying down rather than sitting up.  I've tried stuffing a shirt up under my chin, but it doesn't seem to work very well.

Anybody found a solution for this problem?

In the book "My Big Toe" by Thomas Campbell, he talks about how when he was like 7 or 8 he had some playmates in the non-physical that would pull him out of body.  When they did this it was an easy exit - he didn't have to go through the vibration stage which can seem very violent, instead he would black out for a second and then find himself out of his body thanks to their assistance.  I have also heard other people describe their experiences similarly in that they too would black out for a second and find themselves in the non-physical.

He said later he decided he wanted to learn how to exit on his own without their help, but they discouraged it.  They said this way is easier.  But, he insisted on trying.  And when he tried to project out on his own it was different and harder.  He would experience the vibration stage which got really intense and it keep him from projecting.  So he gave up on that and went back to doing it the easy way with their help.

I'm just curious about this way of doing it because I've never experienced blacking out for a second and finding myself in non-physcial.  Is it easier to do it that way than to go through the vibration stage which can get very intense?  How can you get yourself to black out like that?  Is it only possible to do that with assistance from the non-physical?

It's been a while since I've tried astral projecting. I guess I get sick of not succeeding that I give up for a while.  Anyway. I gave it another try today and I did get to the point where there was a shift in consciousness or shift in awareness - I really don't know what this shift is or how to put it in words, but I'm sure you experienced projectors know what I'm talking about.  I've experienced it before, and I know that the vibration stage often follows or can accompany the shift.

First I stop thinking kind of like you do when falling asleep at night.  So I think what is happening is that my brain activity level is going from beta (active/thinking) state, to alpha (less active/less thinking), and maybe even into theta, I'm not sure.  But, at some point there is this shift that takes place.  If you were falling asleep at night it would probably be the point where you actually fall asleep, but since I'm trying to stay awake that doesn't happen.  Instead a shift takes place.  What is this shift exactly, does anybody know?  Is it what is felt when you go into the theta brainwave state?  Is it my awareness expanding from the body to more than the body?  From local awareness to non-local awareness?  Although I still feel very much in the body.  Something feels different at this point, like I'm losing consciousness - not becoming unconscious, just becoming less conscious or awake.  Like I'm going into dream awareness.

I've heard it said that we are multi-dimensional beings and that when we astral project or dream we are really just shifting our awareness to another dimension.  Do you think that is what the shift is?  The vibration stage, the sound of buzzing, feeling like you're vibrating, and the speeding up of the heart chakra.  If it's true that everything in the physical world including our bodies are made of energy and not really solid, then perhaps we're just feeling the vibrational change as we shift from one dimension to another?

This leads to my next question, something I've been wondering about.  Church folks will talk about something they call "getting the Holy Ghost" or "getting filled with the Holy Spirit".  When this happens sometimes people even receive miraculous physically healings.  I think that is because people feel a real shift take place inside them - like with astral projection.  I think their vibration speeds up, and because of that they feel different, they feel something which they call "the holy spirit", and because of that change it makes it easier for them to believe or have faith in a miracle.

Years ago, I wanted to know what it felt like to "get the Holy Spirit".  I wanted to know what these people were experiencing.  So I prayed for it.  I asked to be filled with the Holy Spirit even though I figured it was probably just energy that they were labeling the Holy Spirit. I imagine a kundalini experience to be the same thing - correct me if I'm wrong.  Interestingly, I prayed for it a couple of times and then like the next day a couple of church guys came knocking on my front door.  I had some health issue and they said they wanted to pray for me.  So right there on my front porch these guys put their hands on my shoulders and prayed for my healing.  I didn't end up getting healed, but I did end up getting what I had been praying for.  While they were praying for me I suddenly started feeling different.  I felt like I was floating.  I felt lite as a feather.  I looked down to make sure my feet were still touching the porch, and they were even though it didn't feel like it.  I also felt a swirling sensation of energy in my stomach area which rose up into my chest.  A lot of people describe their experiences with getting the Holy Spirit very similarly.  A friend of mine said he felt like a 100 pound weight came off of him when he received the Holy Ghost.

So what's really going on here?  Is there a connection between the shift we experience when trying to astral project and the shift people experience when "getting the Holy Spirit"?  Are both of these experiences shifts in awareness from the physical dimension to another dimension - astral dimension or whatever you want to call it?  Is that why both experiences are accompanied by vibrational/energetic sensations and like an expanded awareness?

Does this mean that we can use this shift for more than just launching into an out-of-body experience (astral projecting), but also to help boost our faith for a physical healing and manifest it?  And if prayer and church music can bring on this shift and "Holy Spirit" experience, then why couldn't they also be used to get out of the body (astral project)?

I had a dream this morning.  One of those dreams where I could swear I was actually there at a place that really exists (happens to me sometimes).  The thing about these kinds of dreams is that I will notice seeing things that at first I'm not sure what I'm looking at.  It's like it takes a minute to realize what something is that I'm seeing.  And that makes me think it must be a real place because my mind isn't conjuring it up.  It feels more like I'm seeing something that really exists, somewhere that I've never been to that I'm seeing for the first time, and that is why it takes a minute for me to understand what I'm seeing.  And with these dreams I realize that it isn't real - that I'm in the non-physical.  And I always feel like I have to get to someone before I wake up so that I can ask them where I am.  Because if this place really exists somewhere in the world, I'd like to know where.

This dream starts outside.  Seems like I'm seeing a gas station at first.  And there are pop machines. I'm walking by reaching into each of them to see if any of them have change sitting in them. One does and I decide to get something to drink with it.  But, I realize that I don't drink soda pop.  Scene shift - Now I'm inside and they have like a little restaurant area.  I read that they have tea, but then when I look again I don't see it again.  I keep looking wondering where I read that, but it wasn't there now - it disappeared. I think my awareness was triggered at this point because of that and I walk out of this place.

I notice the steps going down from the door are wooden which is not like most places where I'm from.  In fact, the whole place had a natural wood feel to it -  maybe it was a log house.  As I walk out and to the left I am surprised to see a river flowing, curving around, just a few feet in front of me.  Realizing that I can't go that way, I turn the other direction to my right.  As I'm looking at the pathway that direction I see these black things sticking up along the side of the path.  I didn't know what they were at first, but then I realized that they were like those things you see at national parks which tell you about what you're looking at, the area, the history, etc.  So I thought this place must be a park or tourist hot spot.  This pathway ran parallel to the river which is now to my right. If you were reading these things you'd be facing the water.

This was a very beautiful interesting place.  I see something to my left that took me a moment to realize what it was.  It was a pathway that went down the hill and over a little bridge, but the pathway was completely fenced or caged in - even the top of it. Not sure what that was for.

Further up the hill and slightly to the right I can see that there is a basketball court.  Although from my point of view I just see the basketball goals sticking up.  I make my way up the hill because there are people up there and I want to ask someone where I am.  When I get closer to the top I can see something I couldn't see from the bottom of the hill.  People were playing a basketball game and somehow they had these huge images of the players being projected out for everyone to see.  It was like I was viewing a projection or hologram of them which made them seem bigger than life and clearly viewable to the full audience.  I don't know how big the audience was because I didn't want to be in a crowd of people and it sounded like there were more people than I originally thought.  So I turned to go back down the hill and find someone else to ask.  But, that's when I woke up.  :(

Why do I sometimes dream about being places that I've never been to before?  They seem so real - I'm seeing things I just feel I wouldn't have dreamt or conjured up on my own, and some things even take a moment for me to figure out what they are.  I've also noticed that these dreams are always places where the scenery is beautiful, places in nature, unlike where I live.  A river is nearby in a few of these dreams.  I don't live anywhere near a river in reality.  Another commonality between these dreams is that I gain awareness that I'm dreaming or in the non-physical and then thinking it could be a real place I try to ask someone where I am.

Because of the reoccurring aspects it makes me wonder if this is interpretable, but other aspects of it make me feel like it's a real place I'm visiting.  I'm not sure what to make of these kinds of dreams.  Any thoughts?

I dreamt that it was raining.  But, this rain was clearly different.  It was as if there was something in the rain that came back up into the air after it hit the ground.  At first, I went into this building with my mom and sister thinking that what's in the rain might be toxic.  My mom seemed to be stupidly poking around outside taking her time getting in out of this rain.  We realized that there were some windows that were broken so we didn't stay there for long.

Scene shift
We're in a car. I am literally pulling mucus out of my throat as if it were thick as a rope.  And it just kept coming.  I have asthma in real life which causes me to have excessively thick mucus when I'm not taking medicine for it. Although my mucus isn't as bad as it's depicted in this dream.

Scene shift
We're at this place. They are keeping everybody there because of the chemical warfare coming down in the rain.  They are passing out these things that are similar to plastic bags.  They are for people to put over their face when they're outside so they don't breath in the toxic poison.  I see a few dead bodies of those who didn't make it.  I am talking to this woman telling her that I don't have my medicine on me and I need it badly. They won't let me go after it.  She tells me they will get me some medicine if I can wait until 2:00 AM.

Sure hope this dream isn't precognitive.

I'm probably not the first person to think of this, but I never heard anybody else talk about it.  So, I thought I'd share this idea.

In one of my recent NP experiences where I was trying to go to a friends house, I saw myself zooming in our her house as if I was zooming in to a google earth map.  Last night, I was messing around with google earth again, and it's no wonder I saw that google earth map in the NP experience.  When you zoom in to a location on google earth, seeing the images moving and coming closer to you almost makes it feel like you are moving.  And when you are in ground view and moving along a road with your mouse, again, seeing the movement and traveling through these images makes it feel like you're moving -like a simulator.  Somewhat similar to how it sometimes feels in the NP when you are moving or flying.

Messing around with google earth kind of made me feel like I was sensitizing myself to that feeling of movement.  Got me thinking that if you did that enough while at the same time using affirmations or subliminals, you could possibly program yourself to attract such experiences in the NP (at night while sleeping) and trigger awareness.  Wouldn't have to necessarily use google earth.  Could find a video that makes you feel like you're moving while watching it, like:

A race car speeding down the track - seen from the drivers perspective.
Superman flying through the sky - seen from superman's perspective.
A jet flying through the air - seen from the pilots perspective.
One of them screen visuals that make it look like you're moving through a tunnel.

Just add in some subliminal messages or affirm your intent to AP while watching it, and watch it before going to bed every night.

I've been having more awareness during the dream state of being in the NP.  And that is because I have been trying to set the intention, before going to sleep each night, to travel to a friend. I am concerned about a friend that I haven't heard from in over two weeks. We normally talk on Messenger like every day (for the past couple years) so it is not like her to go this long without talking to me.  I'm worried that something bad might have happened, like maybe she got in a car accident or something.  So I have been trying to set the intent to AP to her before going to sleep, because I want to know if she's alright.  But, being new at this I am confused about my experiences, so I would like to see if any you experienced travelers can make sense of any of my confusions. I put those questions in bold.

The night before last I became aware that I was in the NP. I remembered my intention to go check on my friend. She lives in the Philippines on the other side of the world.  I thought that if I try to fly or travel to her that I would probably end up waking up before I even get there, because it always seems like once you become lucid or aware you tend to wake up shortly after.  So instead I thought it would be best to just imagine myself at her house and be there instantly. I'm pretty sure i have traveled instantly like that in the past but the last couple of times I can't seem to make it happen - what is up with that?  Is there a reason for that?

Anyway, instead I saw a white fence. And I noticed that on the other side of this fence was a grave yard. Hopefully I saw that because I'm afraid something bad might have happened to my friend, and not because she's actually dead.  That would suck.

Suddenly, the next thing I'm aware of is standing in front of this blonde haired woman in another location. She seemed to be an important person and she had straight blonde hair. She says something about me having questions.  I said, "Who are you?".  She didn't answer but replied with a question of her own which was "how did you get here?"  I had no idea where I was, who she was, or how I got there.  I just appeared there for some unknown reason.  Why does that happen?  Why do we find ourselves in places and not know why we're there?

It was as if she knew who I was, but I didn't know her or at least didn't remember who she was.  I thought maybe I am seeing someone from a past life.  Sometimes I have experiences like that, that I think must be past lives, but yet how could I be interacting with someone in the past from the present?  Does anybody understand these types of experiences?

She said something like "I know you wanted to help, but it's too late, Atlantis is under attack" (or Atlantis is in trouble). She didn't say we were in Atlantis, but there was mention of Atlantis being in trouble or under attack.  Then I saw an image of this attack which was like seeing many lights in the night sky. As if i was seeing all this activity going on in Atlantis on a screen.

At another point I happen to see myself as if I was seeing into a mirror. I looked different. my neck was all hairy like an animal although I appeared to be human. And I had some orange in my hair on the top of my head.

At another point, that same woman starting communicating with me again, but this time it didn't seem face to face. It seemed like she was broadcasting a message to me from a distance. And I couldn't make out all that she said. Does that sound familiar to anyone - distant broadcasts?  What is that about?

Was all of that just a dream? Or could it have been a communication from a past life acquaintance.  Could this blonde haired woman be my friend in a past life? Maybe that's why I appeared before her, because I had the intention of going to my friend (although I didn't mean to travel to a past life her). It didn't feel like a dream.  I was even aware of moving my astral arms and legs during the experience.
--------------------
Last night, I again set the intention to become aware that I'm in the NP so that I could travel to my friend and check on her again. This time when I become lucid I thought it best to actually travel to her, since teleporting to her didn't work the night before. Suddenly, it's as if I'm looking at a google earth-like map.  And just like Google earth, I intended to go to her house and it was like I was zooming into the map getting closer and closer to ground level - to her house. I didn't feel like I was flying this time. I have had experiences like that before, but this time it was like I was just looking at a map zooming in.  But, right before getting to ground level it turned black and I thought I had woken up.

I was so frustrated, I was so sure I woke up and ruined my chance. Suddenly, I'm lying in a bed that I at first thought was mine.  I punched this thing on the headboard out of frustration because I thought I had awaken, but then I realized that I don't have a headboard and that it wasn't my bed. I thought maybe I was lying in my friends bed. I saw some details on this headboard that is hard to describe, but I know I could pick it out of a line up of pictures of beds if I saw it again.

I seemed to be stuck on my right side, I couldn't move to get a good look around to see her.  That might have had something to do with that fact that my physical body was actually sleeping on my right side.  I saw something next to the bed.  I reached out to feel it because my vision was blurry. At first I thought it was a desk chair, but I think it must have been some kind of exercise equipment because it had like a pulley thing on the underside of the arm.  Then a person came around the bottom of the bed where I could see them and it startled the crap out of me, and I came out of the experience.  And I worry that someone might see me as an apparition or something.  I don't want to give anyway a heart attack?

I'm pretty sure btw, that I'm unintentionally haunting my childhood home because I have had so many lucid dreams where I go back there for some reason.  I guess because I lived there for the first 16 years of my life, so it makes up a large part of my life. Is there anyway to make sure nobody can see me?

When I was looking into hypnosis and subliminal messages a while back, I noticed that people seem to be split on the topic of whether or not subliminal messages are effective while you're sleeping.  Some people say that's the best time do it.  That's what worked the best for them and they swear by it.  Other say it doesn't work at all while you're sleeping.  That confused me.  Well, today it occurred to me that maybe it depends on what stage of sleep you're in when the subliminal recording is playing.  Maybe it works better when you're in REM.

Then I thought that maybe that could be a good way to easily trigger a lucid dream or AP.  Or maybe even a sexual dream.

So, here is what I was thinking.  You record some kind of relaxing sound that you can fall asleep to.  For me it would be the sound of a box fan because that's what helps me sleep.  The recording would play for a few hours.  But, since there's no way of knowing when you will be in the REM or dream phase of sleep you would just have to repeat your subliminal or hypnotic suggestion every so often.  Maybe every 45 minutes or so the background sound can drop down just a bit and you slip in the message in a soft relaxed voice.  Hoping that at some point in the night the message will go out while you're dreaming and be heard by the dreaming you.

The message can be a simple as "Is this a dream?" or "Am I dreaming?".  Or you could make it a lot longer than that.  You could attempt to influence or take control of the dream with the recording - suggesting what's going to happen next.  Guiding the dream from the outside.

What do you think?

Every so often I have an experience like this that gets me thinking about astral projection again.  This last episode brought me to this forum.

A couple night ago, while sleeping, I heard that sound that I hear when I know I'm close to projecting.  For me, it sounds like strong winds, and it feels like I'm caught up in it or something.  I've never been in a wind storm or a tornado, but I imagine it would sound something like that.  In the midst of this scariness, I was able to look down and see what was apparently my astral legs rising up out of the body.  I knew I could leave my body very easily if I wanted to.  But, why oh why does it have to be so dang scary?  It felt like someone was pulling on my astral legs although I knew that wasn't the case.  Maybe the pull was coming from this wind like energy, I don't know.  But, my legs were flopping about and I knew it wasn't my physical legs.

I heard what sounded like a voice saying the same thing over and over.  The words sounded religious, although I am not religious.  I couldn't remember what the words were upon waking.  I think it was something like "praise God", "hallelujah" or something.  I just know that I could have astral projected if I wanted to but I was held back again out of fear.  Fear of the unknown.

Upon waking, I felt as if I had been given another chance/opportunity to astral project, but once again, I resisted out of fear.  I felt dissapointed with myself.

I was sleeping on my back when this happened.  I hardly ever sleep on my back.  I usually sleep on my side.  But, those rare times when I do sleep on my back, it seems to trigger such experiences.  I don't know why that is.  Also, because I sometimes have trouble breathing (asthma), I had the fear during this experience that maybe my physical body had stopped breathing, which only added to the fear.

Hi, Kurt here.  31 yr old from Indiana.  I have wanted to be able to consciously astral project since I was 18.  Around that time in my life I was avidly trying to project every single day.  Some days I would lie on my back for 3-4 hours at a time trying to make it happen.  Most of the time nothing would happen.  Some times my head would feel weird or like it was filling up with energy or something.  Occasionally I would feel the "vibrations" and feel like I'm on the verge of something happening.  My heart would speed up (or feel like it anyway) and it was always followed up by anticipatory fear.  It's like I knew something was about to happen, but I didn't know what exactly.  It's a scary feeling, and if it wasn't for the fear I probably would have achieved conscious astral projection a long time ago.

When I say "conscious" astral projection, I mean my attempts to project during the day while I'm fully conscious.  I have experienced astral projection several times, but for me it has always been through the dream state or while I'm sleeping.  It's like I am dreaming or sleeping and I suddenly realize that I'm out of my body.  It's like I completely skip the vibrating and buzzing and the scary part where my hearts racing, and I'm hearing strong wind and feel like I'm caught up in it.  And I just find myself already out and somewhere else.

I have tried many ways to astral project.  I have tried the astral projection audios created by the Monroe Institute.  I have tried hypnosis, binary beats, theta brainwave stuff.  I've tried them combined.  I've tried the drug salvia divinorum which is suppose to help.  It didn't do anything for me though.

I use to find myself in that sleep paralysis state a lot while sleeping, where you can't move at all.  That use to happen to me all the time.  I heard somewhere that you can very easily project from that state just by thinking about being out of your body.  One time I had the chance to test that theory and it worked, although I didn't stay out for long.  But, it got me thinking that if I could get to this paralysis state while awake it would be easy to astral project.  Unfortunately, I have never been able to induce it while conscious.  I can lie there for 4 hours and I will not go into the paralysis state.  What is up with that?  Your body releases chemicals while you're sleeping to paralyze you so that you don't act out your dreams.  But, there's no way to fool the body into doing this while you're awake?

On one hand, I hate how difficult it is to astral project and how scary it is, but on the other hand I am attracted by the many benefits of being able to do it.
