In perusing the weekly Our Ultimate Reality newsletter, I have noticed some interesting differences in varieties of belief. I have 'tried out' a bunch of these beliefs before, and when I noticed myself becoming a person I didn't like, I stopped the 'try out'. I'm not saying that these beliefs are 'untrue' so much as I am not ready for them, I don't react well to them.

In particular, I have tried out the 'everyone you meet is just a reflection of you' belief before, and I really don't like who I became. I did not become a more loving person, I became a more demanding person, a more selfish person, a less patient person. I think it's important to say this in a way that makes clear that the 'you' involved in that statement is not your conscious mind, is not your mind at all, something like 'you and everyone you can ever meet are all just limited instances or defined models of the One Infinite Being, reflections of a deeper reality.' Shifting the emphasis clarifies the meaning, makes it possible for me to believe this thing and have a positive reaction.

Allegories make it even more possible, and here is one of my favorites:

Each consciousness is like the froth on the surface of the waves of an ocean. Each wave is separate from the others only at the surface; below the surface, these are just movements within the same, one ocean. Even when 'separate', consciousness cannot occur until the movement interacts with something like a 'continental shelf', or the shore of something, and then the movement interacts with the surface to produce a wave that can be shaped in such a way that it can 'look down' on itself, and there is enough 'turbulence' within the wave itself that it can have internal differences, it can begin to consider what it senses, notice the surfaces of the wave that is itself (self-awareness 'separate from the One'), and notice its movement. When the wave reaches shore, it 'ends', but nothing is destroyed, the water is still there. Each wave is made out of the water of the ocean, it's all the same 'thing', but the waves are different, even if made out of the same stuff, caused by similar movements interacting with the same 'continental shelves'. It's important to be able to regard the movements and whatever the 'continental shelf-equivalent' is, without de-valuing the differences between the waves.

Looking closer at the froth, an even deeper allegory is to see a whole bunch of sideways floating 'coins' formed as 'Yin-Yang' symbols, rotating forward. Each time that the 'Yang' rotates up out of the surface of the water, you become consciously aware of a moment of time, and when it rotates down into the surface of the water, the 'Yin' rotates up, and your subconscious applies some control to your existence. When you become aware of this consciousness-cycling, which can become easier when meditating or experiencing some form of Altered Consciousness, it becomes far easier to 'manifest' and experience what you want/ is 'best' for you.

Magnificent allegory and investigation into non-denominational uses of thought-forms, manifesting techniques, and ultimate questions (why are we here?, etc). When read aloud by at least two performers it can have an intense effect not only on the awarenesses of the audience but on the lives of everyone involved.

I can't praise this book enough. It presents so many metaphysical experiences in such an easily understandable and workable fashion, including: channeling, past life cycles, past life involvements, divination, psychic ability, developing psychic ability, Spirits, shamanism, after-death events, dealing with ghosts, the use of special/ spiritual places in the world, Astral Projection, focused inspiration, reality management... It came out way before the movie "The Matrix", and the story is completely different. There is some obligatory good versus evil to make story drama, but it works well and is entertaining.

Well, I don't know Voodoo or proper Voodoo counterspells. For that kind of help you're probably going to have to contact a professional Voodoo person and pay thru the nose to raise sufficient interest in him or her to make this his or her business.

As a few stopgap measures, here's a some things you can try.
- Get some of your Mom's hair, an item of jewelry, and a picture. Put these things together and, while touching them to her, have some Energy (Aetheric would be best, but Prana will do) flow thru her and into the things, making them be as one. Then put the group of things that now are one with your Mom into a 1+ gallon container of rock-salt mixed with table salt. Salt has a tendency to make magickal processes cease working, so the only problem with all of this is that when it starts working as a magickal process, you'll know it because while it will make all of the other magickal processes focused on your Mother stop, it will also make itself stop,, so you'll need to re-do it, probably daily, and/or teach your Mom to do it herself;
- Gather whatever you need to be able to focus on the person who is causing all of this. Make the space sacred in whatever way you know and are most comfortable with. Focus on the person, and as you have experienced a bunch of the negative results of her presence and activity in the world, know that it is likely that many others have done the same. Using that awareness, imagine everything in the world that challenges her or opposes her, or frustrates her or limits her or restrains her. Turn your focus to all of those {people/things/phenomena}, and intensely bless them with great positivity, energy, motivation, strength, power, vitality, health, joy, love, life, and every blessing that you can imagine;
- Go to a powerful diviner and find out which spirits or Deities you should involve in this to counteract the negative entities she is sending, then research the rituals to contact/ evoke them, do so, and make agreements of alliance with them;

I hope that helps!

I didn't quite know where to put this, it involves lucid dreaming, kind of, but it was also the first 'crack' in my perception of reality that allowed me to learn all that I have.

It was late 1976, I was cutting high school freshman class and hanging out at the Washoe County Main Library. That was something I did all the time, along with quite a few homeless people. One such guy and I tended to read a lot of the same books, books on psychic phenomena, magick, etc. We never spoke to each other, the few times I tried, he just glared at me. Anyway. The last day I ever saw him, I was sitting about 15 feet away, and he was reading one of the first books on Lucid Dreaming. Suddenly he looked up and said: "I see! All you have to do is wake up!" The book dropped to the floor, and he wasn't there anymore. I freaked. Later, when I tried to talk about him to the library staff, no-one ever knew that he was ever there. Some people have tried to convince me that he was a ghost, but after several years I have discovered with what I call 'Reality Navigating', when you do it completely, the people in the Reality that you have Navigated to do not remember the Reality that you Navigated away from, because they were never there.

Anyway...

Soon after that, I met a couple of college guys at the Library, and we had an interesting conversation about magick. Gradually I became involved in their unofficial, co-ed "Frat"-house. Most of the guys were involved in Psychology somehow, and they ran their own experiments. I did not realize that I was one of their main subjects until long after. One of the guys was always ready for me to 'find charged quarters'. He would have several dollars worth of quarters, and some of the them would be 'charged'. I had no idea what that meant at the time, but he let me touch a charged and an uncharged quarter, and I could feel the difference. Anyway, he would throw them all onto the lawn, and if I brought back the charged ones, I got to keep them all! Later, he changed the game so that I would have to do it blindfolded, and I found that I could find the charged quarters even faster that way. Without realizing it, I got passed to the next guy, who had a beginning telekinesis-test set-up. I never got anything or anywhere with this, evidently, I am a complete dud at telekinesis. So I got passed on again, and this one was the most interesting. By then I was 16, and Star Wars had come out (made a difference for talking about 'feeling' things blindfolded). The testers were a college guy and his girlfriend. The test was that he would throw orange balls at me, and I was supposed to tell by 'feel' which ones were which. I was supposed to move so that the orange pool balls did not hit me. I was supposed to block the oranges. I was supposed to let the orange tennis balls hit me. We started out at 15 feet away, and as I improved, increased the distance. The price of failure was fairly obvious, enough so that I wasn't all that interested in participating, until he told me the reward for complete success (fellatio from his girlfriend). Sorry to be so revealing, but that's the way it was. When the distance had been extended to about 80 feet, which was about as far as he could reliably throw the balls, I 'graduated' to being blindfolded. I got hit with pool-balls a lot as I learned, and I once broke a finger trying to block a pool ball. But I also got completely rewarded three times.
Soon after the last reward, the police broke the "frat" up and these people drifted out of my life.
But I had begun to learn something that I now call 'truth-sense'. It doesn't sense the absolute truth, if that is even possible. It senses what is best or worst for me to believe, or do.

Biggest Brightest Blessings!!!

Fairly soon after that I got involved in the local province of the Society for Creative Anachronism, greatly expanded possibilities of face-to-face Roleplaying (with dice, not underwear), and some of those people introduced me to involvement in the spiritual thing they had going, which was a Wiccan Group that met on weekends of the Full Moon (for more details, look for my post "First Astral Projection with Ullr".)
Anyway, after a few months of knowing me, one of the members suggested that I check out Anton LeVay's Satanic Bible.

Seated in the High Priest's living room, not paying attention to the possibility that any place repeatedly made into sacred space might have the barrier between worlds quite a bit thinner than 'normal', I began to read, and immerse myself in page after page of pure hatred. Hate God, hate life, hate everyone... and as I began to seriously contemplate life while believing these things, my ability to sense without seeing the difference between an orange and an orange pool ball seemed to 'flex' somehow, and I became aware of a tremendous female presence silently saying: "No! If you want to thrive you have to love God!", and I proceeded to get four hours of automatic writing that I call the Teachings of Shekinah. Very powerful, very informative, very positive. Among other things it informed me that God had a mate that the Patriarchs hid, a mate named 'Wisdom' the way that He is named 'I Am', that She invented the idea of death and mortality as a way for Angels to learn faster and adapt to changes more easily, that the first planet in this system to host life was called 'Tiamaat', and that the Earth was made from parts of Her; that in the allegorical 'garden of Eden' tale, Lilith really was Adam's first mate, and Eve was their daughter. It's all coming out very bald here, She told it to me far better than I am telling to you, but I wanted to get across some basic ideas, like the fact that there were and are even now Patriarchs who decide what it is best for them that you know, who run society not through any kind of conspiracy or gathering, but through disempowering decisions and applications of propaganda.
Anyway, after that tremendous burst of personal gnosis, my ability to sense what is best for me to believe in, follow, & use was no longer limited to fast-moving, orange balls. I began to write notebook after notebook of philosophy, science fiction stories, game-world ideas. I began to get inspirations on psychic and magickal techniques to try, and my development took off.

.

It was the late 1980-s, I was involved as a 'seeker' with a group of Wiccans in Reno calling themselves the College of One. According to their rules, one could only be a 'seeker' for six months, but what kept happening was that we'd reach the end of the six months, they'd tell me that if I wanted to continue I'd have to choose a teacher, I'd thank them, and wish them well, and just before the next Moon Meeting they'd call to see if I was coming. I never chose a teacher. I consistently felt something weird and creepy. One of the many frustrations of being a seeker with that group, was that they would welcome everyone to the Moon Meeting, we'd all start having a little fun together, then they'd decide that it was ritual time, and all the non-initiates would have to leave the ritual area (usually going down into the basement for the period of the ritual). I noticed after a few months that I could 'feel' something going on above that changed things in the basement (I later discovered that what they were doing that was noticeable was 'cutting a circle'). Doing some library research, I figured that they were somehow 'making sacred space', and that I could use that for my own purposes. So, the next time it happened, I mentally shouted, asking for someone to show up who could teach me about all of this stuff. And an entity 'arrived' who called Himself Ullr, the Norse god of the hunt. I don't know, I haven't been trained in how to validate the existence of gods. In any case, His main way of training me was to pull me up onto the Astral, a few layers above the physical reflection. The place abounded with all kinds of spirits, deities (male and female), and beings in between. There was no conflict between them, even though they were connected to different human cultures, and there were a bunch that weren't connected to any human culture. Ullr made me aware that spiritual conflict is a product of limited mortal perspective. Then He took me back to my body.

I had several other similar travels with Him, and learned quite a few things.
Later, when I became more interested in finding out how to Astral Project on my own, the Fountain out of the Llewellyn Guide to Astral Projection worked easily for me, even though I've had to tweak it over the years to teach it to others in a way that they could do the same.

I read the FAQ and I've been trying to read the permanent topics, but I keep running across the phrase "...projecting from meditation can take years to work...." Well, depending on how you meditate, I guess.

It's important to realize that you have an energy-body and can make more at any time.
It's important to understand that there are organs in your energy-body, called Chakra-s, part of whose function is to link and bond your energy-body into your physical body. Fatigue, stress, extreme hunger, and near-death intensity fainting can "short-circuit" your Chakra-s, but such are not to be recommended for regular practice, rather you should learn to cleanse your Chakra-s, clear out your aura, energize and unlock your Chakra-s, create a 'small' energy body to practice transferring your consciousness into, and then do that practice. Please note that this doesn't work very well when attempted out of sequence. Once you are adept with the 'small', you can create a full Astral Body (or use the one you already have) and begin full-on projections.

The technique I use is called "The Fountain". I ran across it in Llewellyn's Guide to Astral Projection, but I have 'tweaked' it over the years to be more effective to me. I am a Pagan. There are parts in this (where the female Spirit of the planet considers your existence) that might not be suitable for those that have other beliefs.

I am Raendome Al-Askendir Xtranj, commonly called 'Random' by my friends (that screen-name was already taken), or even 'Rax'.
I am a 46 year-young, low-testosterone male, caucasian, bi-sexual (not very active though), active Pagan who is a Scorpio, Moon in Taurus, Capricorn Rising, with about 20 to 25 years of intense metaphysical experiences in the vicinity of Reno, Nevada, USA, Sol System, Milky Way, index universe 73 of the Gold Essence ruled spaces of the Omniverse. I indulge in three intensely active personality-modes, 'Random', 'Drakonaurex', and 'Damona'. I have a lot of personal gnosis and experiences, but not a lot of traditional work. I have been called a 'Chaos Elder' (until I explained that Chaos Mages don't have elders). I look forward to being able to share a lot of information in obedience to my oaths to Thot (which is how I pronounce Thoth), and being filled with joy and respect at the infinite ways to be revealed through the infinite unique perspectives on the world. Be advised that though I seem to speak with great authority, I am only revealing portions of my way, which has the same value and truth as anyone else's way, and no more.
