My latest AP attempt brings me to the closest i have been recently.

Basically,i laid in bed and try to relax till i start to stop focusing on where my hands are,and i try to keep my mind awake. It will usually take me half an hour, but where i really get stuck is when i feel myself loosening.Basically i feel someting(like my inner body) swinging left to right(sometimes up and down) however,i than hit a brick wall.As soon as i hit this point,my body begins to twitch,my stomach clenches, and i am moving to much to try to attempt an exit.

Is thier something i can do to stop this from happening(cause i think i am soooo close.)

Welcome to Dreams! / A self block my dreams?
January 31, 2010, 11:30:04
Well,i have had  some pretty weird sleep patterns lately(due to some tests at school, which turned out i wasn't suposed to take it anyway) so i have had sometimes when i would have partial sleep-paralysis(i can only move small parts of my body.)

Anyways,2 times i have kind of half realized it was a dream.both times i would try something like flying, but no matter how hard i thought to myself to fly,i could never quite take off.Same with trying to run real fast(i was running away from somebody.)I would also try to leave my body, first time it happened a white light(which was kind of dim) came over me,but i made it go away cause it felt like my teeth were getting pulled out, like when the dentist uses novacane and pulls your teeth out.Second time it happened it went away after a second.Maybe its because i sometimes fear what my mind will create when i know its a dream, does anyone else have this sort of problem?

I mean, when ever i read up on OBE's and LD,i almost always here about how the subconsious can change what you see when you project,Which would happen in a Lucid Dream.

So how do i know if what i see when i project is real,or if its even a projection, and not a dream?

Welcome to Dreams! / Fear to sleep.

Hello,long time AP lurker,barely post.

I have been on and off with OBE's,have tried feeling chi(i think i have had success with it.)

Anyways, one night i had woken up with my t.v on.After about 15 minutes of failed attempts to go to sleep,i finally relaxed enough and feel myself drifting to sleep. As i layed there,i thought i may get a chance to do a lucid dream.Just than,a fear came over me,like i was going to die.I immediately woke up,and after some more unsuccesful attempts to sleep,i blacked out and slept the rest of the night.

So my question is this. What do you think scared me into not going to sleep?
