Welcome to Astral Chat! / NNOOOOOO!
November 24, 2005, 15:10:38
I decided to have a quick look through the forums today at work, i do this most days, only during breaks of course.. well today i was in for a bad suprise. I was to be greeted by a big red cross that stated the site was blocked :(.

Either Easynet has blocked it directly, or there external filter provider N2H2 has flagged astralpulse.com and added it to some categorie that easynet have opted to block.

I can get around this, just get a direct connection out instead of through our proxy server, just annoying that they block such a cool site.

After sleeping 3 or 4 hours during the day i awoke to eat my dinner (about 10:30pm... long story :)). I ended up back in bed about 1:30am listening to the donnie darko soundtrack. I noticed i could see swirling light patterns behind my eyes. Wave after wave circling or passing softly, almost like something calling out to me or giving me a glimpse of something i was missing out on. It was like watching ripples on the top of water... but from underneath. This didnt feel like hypnogogic imagery as i was very much awake, after opening my eyes in the pitch black room i could still see them faintly, and as soon as i closed my eyes they were back with full strength.... ive never experienced this before.
The patterns gave me a very calm feeling and i watched intently as i listened to the CD.

After turning off the CD and falling asleep i ended up having a lucid dream in which i spent most of it flying (wont go into details here). At some point I awoke and wanting to re-enter my dreams i just let myself fall deeper back into my mind. I suddenly saw a change in vision, i heard a young girl talking and heard ripping sounds. I began to see a warp speed style scene like traveling fast through space and then felt myself fall through the bed. I found myself in blackness, no depth to it, just black, i then awoke.
This continued, I phased, found blackness then woke. One time I heard the ripping, then felt myself floating just above the bed. I floated uncontrollably sideways watching the bed below me as i passed through the wall into my neighbours house. I then found myself in reoccuring lucid dreams which i wont go into.

So... I had lots of lucid dreams, false awakenings and i entered via phasing lots of times, often with the feeling i was experiencing an OBE (after checking the time i found only 1.5 hours had passed since i first went to sleep.)

In closing, although id be interested in any comments about the experience im mostly interested in the light swirls. I found it much easier to visualize as i was falling asleep after having saw the imagery. Maybe it was related to digestion due to eating that late??

Comments welcome,

Welcome to Astral Consciousness! / Awake -> F2
August 01, 2005, 17:12:34
I know this topic has came up a few times before, but this is the stage causing me most problems. If possible i want to know others findings on this:

Recently ive been exploring the stages building up to F2 (or sleep) in hopes of finding an easier way to phase. The stages for me seem to be:

Laying awake - usually thinking about things conciously

Hypnogogia stage1 - a light hypnogogia, i usually hear the odd sound and see colours and blobs of light aswell as the occasional face etc.

Hypnogogia stage2 - after a certain amount of time in stage1 i find i get much stronger and clearer images that last a few seconds before switching like a slideshow.

Usually if i stay too long in stage2 i lose conciousness for a small amount of time. When i come back round I feel really groggy/tired and usually give up practice for sleep.

My guess is that stage2 in the above list is the gateway to phasing (at least for me).. Also does anyone have any good idea's on what methods i could use once at this stage. I manage to get there every night but havn't found a way of taking advantage of this :(, Ive had a few close calls but nothing more.

Thanks for your patience

Welcome to Dreams! / Dream recall
April 26, 2005, 18:29:25
After having many lucid dreams just a year ago I now have very little dream recall at all. The reason for this is almost certainly because of my new job and the fact that I get about 6 – 7 hours sleep a night, coupled with my lack of dream journaling and effort in the subject. I’ve only recently realized what a huge mistake it’s been to stop practice and have now started measures to reclaim my dreams (which is working).
It would help me immensely if people could provide 3 pieces of information. Your average hours sleep, the rating you give your dream recall from 0 – 10, (0 being no recall, 10 being clearly remembering multiple dreams a night) and whether you usually sleep through till morning or whether you usually wake during the night.

Mine would be:
Hours sleep: 6.5
Dream recall: 1
Usually sleep through till morning

Thanks for your time,

Although i seem to have alot of control over my lucid dreams and there environment some things can still cause me problems, changing scenery by will for instance (ive only managed this twice).
It got me wondering how much control we can actually have in dreams and how much we can bend the rules where used to from normal life. Now I tend to plan ahead of my lucid dreams so that when i get them im not wasting them (if thats possible). I maybe set little experiments to try out while lucid, small tasks to perform etc. The only problem is I dont have LD's every day and when I do get chance I dont always get round to trying out things. My idea is to put a list of tasks I want to try on here (other members can add to them), then if people want they can try the tasks and report back on what they found. Im not asking people to sign up to anything or spend lots of there time.. just that when there lucid they could take a few seconds out of there busy lucid dream adventures to try one or two things [:)].

Heres a few i had/have planned (also added in other detail tests):

1.) Walking through objects and methods used - I've done this once and i struggled like crazy, its strange when you feel the object, feels so real against your hand, and then you try to move through it, takes alot of will power.

2.) Changing scenery - something like a tropical island or a scene from lord of the rings such as the final big battle in number 3. Could your mind recreate that, and can you change scenery[?]

3.) Sticking to walls and ceilings - never tried it but always wondered how good i would be at it.

4.) Shape shifting - Saw this in another post and im intrigued.

5.) Telekinesis in dreams

6.) Size changing - Growing taller to a giant size and shrinking to insect size

7.) Flying - How fast, how far, hows the detail, how did you do it.

Other possible detail tests:

8.)Water - Water in my lucid dreams always feel cold and real, never really explored underwater though.

9.)Fire - When near fire in a dream do you feel its warmth? what happens if you step into it?.

10.)Exploring sense of Taste and Smell - Ever eat a big juicy steak in a lucid dream [:)]? How did it taste? A must try for my next LD.

11.)Accessing memory - While lucid remember and think about what you were doing yesterday, How easy is it to access memory while dreaming and how accurate is it?

12.)Suicide - maybe a little wacky to you but i always wondered what would happen if i looked down the barrel of a gun and pulled the trigger in a lucid dream, or jumped off a building head first (never had the nerve to do it though).

13.) Climbing - If you climb in a lucid dream do u feel muscle strain? a recent lucid dream for me seemed to suggest it.

14.)Looking in a mirror

15.)Stopping hands melting - is it in your mind? everyone seems to say your hands melt if you look at them but ive found if you remain open minded it does nothing. This got me thinking whether it happens because we expect it, if so then we could use it to our advantage in normal dreams to become lucid (expectations = reality).

Thats about it for now, sick of typing. For those that might not remember results ive found commenting in lucid dreams helps me greatly when remembering because i nearly always remember what ive said, e.g. "my arms are aching even though this is only a dream".

Anyway this was just an idea but anyone is more then welcome to add to the list or add experiences with dream control and detail on here.

Thanks for taking the time to read.

Welcome to Spiritual Evolution! / visualization
September 07, 2004, 12:32:43
It's possible to visualise someplace, then AP into it.  It's called phasing.

In the Astral, thought=action=reality.  It is a double edged sword, as people tend to bring their fears with them as well.

Difficult?  No clear answer, since your the one that has to do it.  The limitations are in your mind, so the more you free your mind, the less limitations you have on your projections.

Welcome to Dreams! / Pain anyone?
July 04, 2004, 09:51:00
It can get pretty bad, I had a weird dream where I was impailed from behind, the pain was so intense that I passed out and didn't dream about anything else.

Hey Rooj, that's a pretty crazy.  That's happened to me once before, but nothing odd happened like the dogs attacking the deer-thing.  Anyway, whenever you actually woke up, were your mom and brother both downstairs, like in the dream?  Were there corellations between the dream world and the real world (complements to Morpheus)?  Basically, I'm wondering if maybe you actually projected into the real time zone, then you witnessed some crazy reality fluxuations.  I'm not sure.  Maybe you projected into the astral instead, each time into slightly different realms.  I'm not sure on that one either.  Oh well, just give me your thoughts on that.

The scientific people have done quite a bit of studies on sleep and the dream state. They seem to think that dreaming occurs during REM sleep. It was reported in 1953 that these neuroscientists discovered a physiological state which occurs periodically during sleep (every 90 minutes). There is a heightened brain activation during this time including a burst of rapid eye movement (REM), increased breathing and heart rate, genital engorgement, and paralysis of bodily movement (the person is highly aroused yet fast asleep).

There are some good websites and books on the many aspects of the sleep and dream state. A favorite of mine is The Lucidity Institute. Their website is: http://www.lucidity.com

Very best,

While I experienced and induced storms/rain/wind in dreams and lucid dreams, never in OBE.  But I did not have so many OBEs.  I guess that will be my next OBE experiment! [|)]

RooJ, if you can have lucid dreams; why not intend the weather of your choice?

Welcome to Dreams! / Just Sharing 2 experiences
November 13, 2003, 11:53:14
LD2
The second big/bigger one I had today and am very pleased with. As I said above by watch it lasted about 1.5 hours but im not sure that's even possible for one dream? (Comments welcome) all I know is it felt like it lasted at least an hour.
*Note the first bit of the dream before the OBE bit seemed to last ages and I've forgot quite a lot of it but the main bits I remember are below.
After getting up at 8 I then went back to bed. I was thinking about OBE's as I fell asleep and almost immediately seemed to enter a dream.

I was stood in a street; it looked like an Italian street or something. It had narrow roads and alleyways and there were many people in them. I knew I was dreaming and actually said to myself "its good to be back". I began showing off to people in the street doing back flips, front flips and weird side flips lol. I also flew quite a bit in the beginning. When asked the Inevitable "How are you doing that?" I told them either they were dreaming or they were just a part of my dream.
Im not sure why but in this dream I kept telling people that a possibility was they were dreaming along with me and we were just meeting in this dream land.
Yet again after being in the same street and at one point on a bridge for ages I then started to get bored of the place. I was shocked again at how long this was going on for and decided that instead of being in a dream I wanted to have an OBE.
I can't remember the transition period but the next thing I know im in my room, I tried to walk through my bedroom door but I couldn't. I decided to see if I was in bed. I got a strangely intense feeling looking at myself in bed (and no. it wasn't sickness :P).

I must say at this point that I don't think I was actually having an OBE looking back into it I think it was part of the LD.

I then saw my mom come into the room and shout me, for a moment I wondered whether to re-enter my body but I decided not too. I then proceeded to walk through the wall with no problem. YEY! After going into the neighbour's house and seeing that she was in bed I then came up with a mission to go for a trek to a friends house. I jumped out of a near by window and landed a floor down outside. After walking abit I met my friends mom (the friend who I was trying to get to). She offered me a lift, after being frustrated about my inability to simply appear in my friend's room I accepted.
Half way through the journey I began laughing at how stupid it was. I was sitting in a dream car with a dream seat belt on. I pulled the seat belt back into me so it actually went through me and that kept me amused for a while. I then got out no-where near the place I wanted to be.
I don't remember my journey back to where I wanted to be apart from a few bits. I met up with a friend (peter) from work and we began walking down the road. I looked around me for a while. (And I suggest you do it in your LD's) I just looked at the tree's blowing in the wind, the cars n bus stops and the people walking about me. I said to peter "I must have a good graphics card to run all this". Couldn't and still don't believe how perfect it was.
-=A random act of violence=-
Peter told me he was making his way to college and I told him not to bother, as it's only a dream and to go do something fun but he insisted and in the end I decided it could be fun. As I was walking a guy came running infront of me really fast and for some reason I just kicked him as hard as I could (im not a violent person), The guy hit the floor very hard and a small crater was created around his body as he cracked paving stones going a good half a meter into the floor. He then got up and people ran over to his aid. I told them all not to bother as it was a dream but they began to get violent. At this point peter is still laughing about the guy being kicked. The guy I kicked began shouting in some language I've never heard and I remembered the scene from matrix 2 where neo takes on lots of agent smiths.
2 of them began throwing punches at peter and he blocked them all, Joining in I tried to do the matrix thing but I just wasn't fast enough. (I now have a new found respect for neo, it seriously isn't as easy as it looks :P)
After the fighting had ended, im proud to say I won, I met a woman and decided to do the pervert thing and started to kiss her but I got a really strange taste in my mouth and the clarity began to subside, I knew I was waking up and the woman just started laughing at me. I decided the dream had gone on long enough anyway and let it happen. I watched everything begin to turn grey until it could almost resemble an un-tuned TV, I then woke.

Sorry it was so long but I was writing it up for my journal and couldn't be bothered shortening it.

Im still way excited about this dream, just the length of it mostly, that and its been nearly a month since the other above. Has anyone else had LD's where it seems to last 1 hour +? I once heard that every dream lasted a maximum of 10 mins but I now know that can't be true.
