do you feel any presences accompanying this? There have been increased sightings of black orbs flying around in recent years. Could it have been these?

Trying doing a search for this. It has been discussed a lot so you should be able to find a lot of posts containing helpful information.

Welcome to Metaphysics! / lucid dreaming
August 06, 2003, 11:10:05
Lucid dreaming is when you are in a dream and KNOW it is a dream. Often, you can control the dream to some extent (i.e. make yourself fly, teleport yourself, make objects move/appear, etc).

I've done it a few times by auto suggestion (thinking over and over again until you fall asleep "I will have a lucid dream I will have a lucid dream I will..."). I don't know any other methods though...but timeless suggested using crystals in the sticky (I believe she said kyanite or opaque selenite). There used to be a whole section on lucid dreaming; I think it's still here...yep, yep it is. Ninth blue thingy down. [|)]

There are some benefits. The one that I know about most is that it's a LOT of fun. [:D] Also, it can help you work out issues you have in real life, overcoming fears and all that. I've even heard of people using it to astral project. Don't know much about that though, you'd be better off getting the info from someone else.

Hope that helps! [|)] Check out the Lucid Dreaming section too.

Wrapping Action: Basically all this is saying is to move your awareness around your leg or finger.  Just like the brushing action only not up and down but around.

Tearing:  For this I recommend going and getting a piece of bread to tear like he says. Now once you have torn the bread recreate the image of this in your mind using as many senses as possible.  Remember what your hands felt like when tearing the bread, remember what it looked like, remember what it sounded like.  Once you can recreate this in your mind all you have to do is think about a given area on your body where you want to do the tearing action and hold this image of tearing in your mind while you think of the area.

Sponging Action:  I am sure that you own a sponge but if not a towel that absords water will suffice.  Soak the sponge or towel and squeeze it out by pushing it on you leg around your knee.  This is done to help you create the image in your mind later.  Just like the tearing action remember as much as you can.  Remember the sound of the sponge as it is being sqeezed, remember the feeling of the water running down your leg, remember the feeling of squeezing the sponge.  Now without the sponge recreate this in your mind.  Now comes the more difficult in my opinion you have to flip this image upside down so that the sponge is down at your feet and the water is running up your leg.  Just imagine this image and involve as many of the physical sensations as you can remember.

I hope this helps clarify.

Here is a site with several good techniques for people just starting out with meditating.

http://www.meditationcenter.com

After you worked with meditating for a while and gotten used to some of the sensations involved I would recommend switching to the twin-heart meditation as it is very beneficial not only to yourself but the rest of the world as well.  You can find instructions here.  It is a long read but it is not really difficult to perform.

Personally Ive never tried making a KI ball, but Ive heard they are invisible manifestations of your life force. You mention "sparks like flashes". Also, what training method did you use to achieve making ki balls?

best wishes.
