Welcome to Dreams! / Playing guitar
December 26, 2010, 08:04:56
Lately I am trying to learn a new song for my acoustic guitar.Sometimes I get the song really well other times I just suck at it.
It wasn't a lucid dream but I was half-awake.I had the guitar and just started playing the song.I could clearly hear every note, the hand-eye coordination was perfect and the fretboard would slightly glow were I should have had my fingers, the motion was fluid and constant.Everything was perfect and I just felt the song.Usually it's like a battle between me and the instrument but in the dream everything seemed clear and easy.
When I woke up and started playing again nothing changed I just couldn't retain the peace and quietness of my dream.
The musician in me, can I let him express in real life?

I seriously don't see this topic at all and I think it's the best thing for begginers to know.
First of all OBE's have a biologycal cause, you just can't lie in bed and then make a quick exit.No matter how emotionaly, mentaly prepared you are if the physical conditions in your brain aren't recreated then it equals zero.
No offence, but most of the begginers are introduced to energy work, meditation, chakras, reiki, etc(especially on this forum). You need time to practice them(and when you live with a family you can't tell them "Just go away I wanna get out of my body") and a lot of patience. If you wanna waste years just to OBE be my guest, ever wondered why yogis take years to prepare and they don't have to worry about tomorrow, a job, school and life in general. They have all the time they need but they don't claim results in 2 months. So we should expect the average, woried man to get results in a couple of months?
And we have the vibrational state, the state everyone who begins tries to reach it.When I began I never knew what to expect, what they are so when I first experienced them I was shocked and really believed they were somethin supernatural, unbelivable with no explanation. After looking better on the net I found it's about sleep paralysis. You don't belive how many people experience it but they either hide it, or it happened in their childhood and don't remember.
So it's clear that triggering sleep paralysis gives you the best chance to OBE and that it is the main way to project.Sleep paralysis occurs in REM sleep when you become concious of the buzzig, tingling feeling that surges your body(at least in my case).
Nightly OBE practices are less effective because Non-REM sleep is dominant(you still get REM but only after you really are asleep and unconciuos, meaning you failed in your practice) while morning practices have a bigger chance of success because you get more REM sleep.
For the modern man there are really big problems:he has a job or school so it's hard for him to wake up at 3 or 4 am when he has to get up at 6 or 7 and without the others wondering "why the hell you wake up every morning at 4 am?".Plus it's tirring for the rest of the day.He has Saturday and Sunday but we know OBE'S most of the times just don't happen for the average practitioner .He is left with the nightly practices when your mind is tired, unable to concentrate after a hard day of work, worries coming and going and all the time and he just goes to sleep without projecting.Sometimes, because of some random reasons his mind is more alert and get's into sleep paraylis. And know he must practice an exit technique...and he fails wondering what went wrong.
From what I said it is clear that being rested before you get to bed gives you a MASIVE chance of success and for that all you need is to get a quick nap in the afternoon. When you do this your sleep consists mainly of NREM sleep meaning that when you actually go to sleep your mind will be rested and your body, already having the primary NREM sleep it needed, will get to REM sleep(sleep paralysis condition) much faster.Your mind crystal clear, body that gets into sleep paralysis much quicker, what more could you ask?It doesn't matter when you get that nap(at 6 pm the earliest for an hour-hour and a half, there's no need for more)
At this stage every method will work.Visualizations, affirmations, etc. all will work. You might even chose to simply do nothing and let your mind wander (for someone full with OBE tehniques this would seem realy dumb).Even so, it won't work every time(people would be OBE'ing like crazy) but it really increasese your chances. In theory it sounds perfect but you know, practice makes perfect.
Hope I helped some people that are currenty lost in meditations, energy work, chakras, etc. They may be good but they weren't made for OBE's.

Welcome to Out of Body Experiences! / No pain?
April 15, 2010, 08:36:20
I'm curious to see if what happens to me aplies to you.
I won't go in details but in last night's OBE I was falling and then BAM!! I hit the ground like a brick with the back of my head.Normally I think you would be in horrible pain but, to my amasement, I felt no pain whatsoever. The back of my head just seemed like it was on anesthesics with a nice, cool feeling exapnding from the point I hit the ground.
My question is:have you felt any sort of pain while in an AP, the kind of pain you get from a bad injury, or it is just a feeling asociated with the physical body?

After months of effort, trying, disapointement I finally achieved a classic OBE without even having the intent in that night!!!!
I won't start telling what happened and otherd details because there are other more better experiences than mine. But I would like to point some things.
1.I didn't even wanted to exercise AP in that night.I just wanted to go to sleep because it was already late and I had to wake up soon in the morning.
2.I had the weirdest posture to try an OBE.I was sleeping on my stomach with my legs and arms twisted and bended in every way, and my face crushed by the pillow, like when you had a hard day and you just want to sleep.
3.I found that imagination helps me exit very quicly.Having the intent of hovering, exiting din't worked.I imagined there are ropes tied to my neck arms and legs and that someone is pulling me up with them. It's  strange I don't have to imagine I am going up or the ropes tied to me, just the thought that someone is pulling me up seems to do the trick.
4.At one point my head was literally stuck in my body.Felt like I had concrete around it and that I can't move it.Imagine yourself hovering with your feet up at 60 degrees with the bed and  your neck bended in a very painfull way.Lucky for me I managed to get out.It felt like a huge relief and that a presure was lifted from me
5.I was FLYING right after I went out!!!It was AMAZING, UNBELIEVABLE and I was light like a feather, i'm still shcked.
6.Evn managed to get throw a wall!!At first I was like a rubber ball that always returns when it hits it but somehow I managed to get coss the wall(I had a greyish colour when looked from inside, always wandered how it is to pass throw a wall).

It happened last night and I feel like screaming the lungs out of me.The entire day was marvelous, I was happy, cheerfull, no one could ruin my mood. Now I'm truly convinced that OBE'S are real and for god's sake I WAS FLYING!!!!!!!!.I always wanted to fly like a bird when I was little, but to actually happen is just to much for me.I'm still like "WHAT THE F%@K!!This really happened to me!!!"
WHO GETS TO FLY ALL BY HIMSLEF!!!

Well this is my post hope you could understand it.It's in our human nature to share our feelings, emotions and thoughts and I can't tell it to anybody so I had to channel them here.

We had the psychology class today and It was about imagination and it s products like hypnogogic and hypnopompic state(dont have to say that they werent explained in any way and were just briefly mentioned)
The topic moved along to dreams and how people die If they dont dream and I asked the teacher what happens with our mind when we have lucid dreams.
She looked shocked at me and started to tell us that dreams are nothing more than leftovers from our unconcious mind, that they dont have any meaning at all and that we should forget them as soon as we wake up, because they are useless.Even more she told us that lucid dreams DONT exist and we have the impresion that we become lucid just because our brains are MALFUNCTIONING and they dont behave in an normal way.
I myself had a few lucid dreams and can tell how vivid they can be and at that time I didnt had the idea to tell her about the  experiments done by LaBarge that show that persons can become lucid in REM sleep.
I am really disapointed that such an interesting topic like dreams is given only 5 minutes from our entire school year and even more, we are told to forget them and to not encourage any experience, because they are garbage and that normal and healthy persons dont have lucid dreams. If it was for me I would dedicate entire hours for ths topic.

How was this subject presented to you by experts, teachers, etc.

So I've been trying to AP for a few months. In this time I've experimented with a lot of techniques to get in trance.I can now have it pretty much when I wan't(in the morning or even at night If i have an afternoon nap).
The problems are when vibrations come and I can't seem to use any tecnique to get myself up(floating, rope, roll out), even though I got don't have any more the fear of leaving my body.
I hope you guys could help me by answering this querstions:
1.When the vibrations go, should I be able to move?
2.When should I try to exit:during the vibrations or after they go.
Different boks tell you different things :-(
Hope I get some help :-D
