I would like to know more about magic. So I've been reading a lot.  I have noticed that a few heavy magicians seem die young and I was wondering why their magic didn't help heal them (e.g., Franz Bardon, Dion Fortune, Benjamin Rowe).  I keep my eye open but its interesting that they died so young.  Any thougths?

I saw a cool commercial for GMC trucks the other day. The scene opens up with a crunched-up compressed car/car part dropping from the a beautiful blue sky, and interestingly, I couldn't see a platform from where the object fell from.  In slow motion, the object bounces off the ground of a western-range landscape.  The car/car part then lands in the dirt and bounce up about a 2-3 feet and comes to a full-rest in a large car/car part junk-pile.  One part would fall and then another, and another, and another up to ~20 car/car part falling from the sky and bouncing off the ground into this huge stack of junk.  It was really interesting.  There was no rhyme or reason for the junk to be falling.  The scene immediately changes to an automobile designer who is working at his desk designing, thinking, analyzing, evaluating, and weighing the merits of his mental idea --> picture and then drafting this image on a blank-piece of paper to see how the car/car part should look.  He then pauses, contemplates the merits of his drawing, and then deciding the drawing isn't good enough, he crumbles-up the drawing into a paper-ball and throws its like a basketball into a nearby waste-basket.   As the paper-ball is arching towards the waste basket, the scene immediately reverts back to the original western-range landscape junk-pile, and you see another car/car part falling from the sky...bouncing and then coming to rest in the junk pile.  This recent addition of junk was the paper the designer just crumpled-up and threw into the wastebasket.  I thought this was a great example of spiritual-stratification.   How things happen first in the metaphysical realms then coalesce/condense are materialize as physical objects in the earth realm. As above...so below!

He's right!  It's a very interesting website.  Go to it and listen to the conversations - they have audiotapes (and read the transcripts) from the people who died and are now on the astral plane.  Then re-view my post regarding William Buhlman's observation that this is a "trap".  It's this astral address and the rationale the souls use to stay there which I'm highlighting.  Buhlman says by staying at the astral zipcodes, we're not achieving the greatness that's available to us...and that we should push deeper into the light and not settle for illusion.  To do this we need to practice AP and get reaccoustomed to our home and remember why we came here..then do it..and then when we die, by pass the astral zips and burrough deep into the Light!

WOW!  Its almost like evolution all over again! 1st we gain lucidity from earth/universe..now we have to gain lucidity from the astral plane in order to advance into our true spiritual form?!!
The final answer seems to be to focus on the Light...don't settle for familiar settings....push....advance deep into the Light..till you run out of steam! Go to the Light!! Bypass the familiar..go to the Light!

I know now...that we have to storm Heaven..like the salmon running up-stream..we have to attack..show intense desire..show worthyness, show lucidity, show total abadonment of ego..we have to plunge into the void (uncertanity) knowing with absolute certanity..that the end is certainly waiting for us..that toil is a necessary part of this process. Finally, from a knowing Kabbalist..."From beyond Time and through all Eternities...The Beginning..knew my Name!!! From nothing...he called me forth...for I was one of his hidden treasues...and in the End..I shall return to the Light".

Make sure the file has .JPG or .GIF I ran into this problem too until I realized the file I was trying to upload was .JPEG Many web sites and avatar sites used that extension but it doesn't work here. Just change it to .JPG and it will upload. HTH

Interesting, reminds me very much of Robert Monroe bands that surround the Earth.

If I try that at the beginning of the night I find I'm fighting a loosing battle as all I want to do sleep zzzzz.

However I have met with limited success very early in the morning (5ish), when I find it much easier to maintain my focus []

I never liked the idea that at some point in our spiritual future, we would simply merge into the ONE source (God?) and that would be the end of "us" as we know it.

However, I think your theory is interesting in itself.  The way you see it, it's almost like being a kid and getting everything you want.  If that were the case, you would never LEARN anything.  Whatever you want, you got.  There would be no sadness, no hardship, no struggle.

We incarnate on this Earth to learn these lessons, and to progress as spiritual beings.  So that the next time we are in a non-physical form, we are that much closer to maturity.

I agree with this....I just don't like to think that at the end of the road, after all this learning and progress, we simply merge back with the source of all energy.  Seems too vague and essoteric for me.

You said you fell back asleep...  Did you (lucid) dream?
Then, you talk about your body spinning above your bed.  How did you get from the dream to your bedroom?
