Rope, "psi ball", imaging your body floating 3 feet above/below, focusing on chakras all these are to take your focus off the physical, which is really the key to projection. Can you think of anything else? It's certainly not a specific technique otherwise everyone would project. They all do the same thing but in a different style. I tried one technique that pretty much is this idea.

I was reading another read about placing a coin on your head and I thought it would be a nice technique to practice both focus and relaxation simultaneously. I normally have trouble with both anyway. I gave this a go last morning after reading that thread. You can choose to focus on the object on your head or try to relax and ignore it to the point to where you don't feel it. I chose the latter, and reached vibrations and I'm betting "astral vision", which is a first for me, either I was visioning my feet or astral vision behind closed eyelids. My sister walked through my room and messed up the projection attempt, foiled again.

Astral projection has to take place when you're not focusing on the physical anymore. So either focusing on the object as a focus point or ignoring it, both paths lead to ignoring the physical. I haven't reached vibrations in months, and now that I have time off I'll practice this daily. It's a nice method of testing you're skills of relaxation, focus, and understanding of astral projection.

I've yet to project and I'm extremely curious to know what goes on from deep relaxation and then a second later, a conscious exit or it's inevitable progression. Do you lose feeling of your eyes? Do you start seeing things while your eyes are still shut? I certainly don't believe you open your physical eyes.

Something I never had the willpower to go through with until now. But recently I've been getting great sleep and relaxation, but I've noticed it ends fast when ever I listen to music. I listen to a mix of music from metallica to remixes of video games. They fog my mind with daydreaming, fantasizing, and worst of all random thoughts. They also make you active when you're supposed to be stable and meditative.

I suppose it's the kind of music, some one listening to something calming probably won't have this problem but if they spam it in their ears all day (like I do) the benefits would have no effect. You need a clear mind to practice OBE. That's how some get exit sensations easier than others, well at least that's my guess.

Other notes: I donated to get 4 of the brainwaves. Which I'll be using, Abyss got my attention when I first listened to it. Felt my body and especially my head was shifting around, even physically lol.

I hear p-real knows women in the astral.

Monroe was the one that would meet the deceased or somebody on the astral. Always found the stories interesting, wondering if anyone shared the same experience.

I heard it's only accessible if you're dead.

And to those who can't afford Hemi sync: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t8eSuZ71S8k&playnext=1&list=PL31B39BE87D18CCFE

A little playlist of hemi sync someone uploaded. Seems like he only uploaded one hour, a nice alternate if you're having trouble with theta/alpha brain waves. I listen to it and get vibes within 20 minutes if I don't screw up my focus. I wish I had more time in life to listen to this and project (shoots for the weekends). The first video's ending has an annoying loud noise, you might wanna play 2/6 video.

Or is it the other way around. So far I've had 2 within a month but like with ALL my dreams they're murky and hardly vivid. It's odd though, during the dream I can't see anything then I would want to project. Within seconds I'd do so and when I "exit" I float out of my room then it ends.

Starting to believe it's just my desire to want to project that created the imitation. Although Frank said something about how astral projections turn into "dreams" if you become less aware or whatever.

This is the only progress I've been making so far. I'm also going to buy B6 vitamins (100 mg or 250?) to make my dreams more vivid, I'm sick of them being barely visible. Whenever they are vivid I become lucid instantly.

This is my first post in months? I bought John Magnus's Astral Projection and nature of reality and Monroe's Out Of Body experiences recently. I'm also getting Robert Bruce's Mastering astral projection in 90 days soon.

For about the 3 time in a row I haven't vibrations but something else. I feel really light. One might say I'm going into my astral body.

I might even be bold enough to say that I felt my astral hand moving. Sure as hell seemed like it. I like this progress.

I ignore them, think of exiting but then my heart beats faster and I need to breath more. Prior I was just relaxing and barely breathing but not out of breath or so. When I think of exiting at that point it feels like I'm not here. But the need to breath ruins it over and over.

I'm possibly going to be going on a vibration thread spree, trying to uncover this enigma. I think I see the reason behind the quiet period of the vibration state. Even so I still don't know how to exit.

(A mess of a post as this is)

Am I actually doing a exit tech and not knowing about it? Be interesting to know for a lot of people.

I've heard vibrations are when you try to project, I've also heard of the quiet period afterward then you try to project. Just want this to be confirmed/discussed. In the video he says, the books/sources that tell you in order to project you must reach vibrations, is all misinformation. And according to Nick Newport when you hit vibrations "you're actually wasting energy, if you actually do end up out of body you can't have any fun because it would be dark and you wouldn't be able to move easily".

All I hit are vibrations, rarely any audio, and this would help a lot for me and others alike. My vibrations end all the time but it feels like I'm just lieing there i.e no trance feelings, dissociation. I can't say if I undergo sleep paralysis because you would have to move in order to be sure. The "lead blanket" feeling to me seems like deep relaxation. I've been practicing and I may be on track with reaching vibes and such, so I thought this would be a nice time to make this thread.

Seriously during the very first times attempting, a year ago, I could hit sensations, swaying, trance. But progressively it's getting harder and harder each month. Nowadays I can't reach anything. Last night I was relaxed stretched a bit, layed down for like 30 minutes didn't get anything. Personalreality told me not to hope for sensations, well I just use them as signposts. It used to be fun attempting this I would get semi-close to projecting, at least it gave me hope.

I try every morning now, sometimes at night for the hell of it. I try to be passive, I don't do the ROPE technique (or any tech) I simply just lie and observe the blackness. Like I all ways have. Whenever I hit vibrations/buzzing I notice them but continue to relax, everything feels different. Then a minute or so later everything goes back to normal and it just feels like I'm laying down.

Me and my friend where wondering if such a technique exists.

I'm pretty sure they're doing that! What's worrying me is that when I cross my eyes I get that same sensation when I'm in state. So basically I'm worried that I have not entered a state, but my eyes are just crossing for all this time. Hopefully that's just a symptom or something. I don't focus my attention on my eyes, I swear I don't! Gah...suspicious.

I do the phasing thing, staring into the blackness etc.

Sorry for inactivity btw.

We think we can't return to our bodies? Strongly refuse to return?

Eventually you will return I know that, but if there was some way to extend the time it would be amazing. Since I've yet to project maybe one of you could try this out.

Committed suicide when they were still living and you met them on the astral, to elaborate. Did they regret it? I heard they go to a limbo state or something.

I thinking about suicide myself but that's another subject.

I've looking around and I noticed people say the below. Not on these forums, around the interwebs.

Night or morning?

Age is a factor?

Current emotion yeilds success or failure?

Can't project if you're covered in a blanket?

Negative emotion attracts negative beings that'll block you from projecting.

Achieving AP takes an hour.

You have to lay down with palms facing up.

I await the AP omniscient to share his/her wisdom.

As title says.

And I'm having a lot of trouble trying to project. I lay down and relax, but don't know what to think about or focus on when lying there. I get as far as feeling weird sensations, dunno if it's a light trance, but that's it. After those sensations everything ends. Yes I'm a huge newbie and had to include a "help me" request. By the way, what is energy raising? I hear it a lot on these forums.

Hello I guess. I'm experienced in forums so I don't need a guide or be adopted.

Dunno if I should tell my problems about projecting here or the other forum. But anyway I wanted to join last August. That is when I first started trying to have an OBE/AP. But since then I haven't projected. So instead of joining and asking a ton of questions, burdening people, I decided to wait. Pinpointing my problem then joining .o.

When I tried to project for the very first time, I was literally an inch away from projecting. I dunno why, and ever since, it's been confusing me. During my near-successful attempt I hit the vibrational state, felt something grab and pull both my hands, dunno if I hit paralysis, couldn't hear a thing besides buzzing. I was too focused and amazed at what was happening. I didn't know how to exit during the time, if I did I may have projected.

My room during the time was freezing, pitch black and I had a fan on. Not exactly the preferred settings. So ever since I've been trying to reiterate what I did or just attempt. I believe I hit the trance nowadays but nothing else.

Awaits responses from the gurus of AP wisdom (liek Xanth) person with the longest wall o texts r teh helpful. :333 btw if mai grammar needs improvement or advice tell me, cuz I didn't really learn it all in school.
