Menuha also means "rest", and when someone dies in hebrew that person is said to be "laid to rest", where the word menuha (rest) is used in the sens that the person is in an "infinite state of rest" (=dead).

For example "huva le menuha" is used to said that someone has been  buried . Dark clothing sounds for menuha ... the vail however is not used in jewish tradition (usually), more like in Italy, Greece,.. for mourning...

Was the "ha" in menuha like the german "ch" in "nach", or the russian "X" like in "xorosho"? (I am not sure what other language you might know.. just trying to see if the "ha" was more like "clearing your throat" sounds as in hebrew).

Very interesting experience. Keep us posted ...an affair to follow...
