Hi,

I've been on this site for a while now, I don't comment much, but I do like to read the discussions of others. I haven't had any experiences for quite some time now, but I have got to thinking -

How do you really know that you are projecting yourself beyond our physical existence, and not merely experiencing a vivid LD?

I am not attempting to disprove anything here, I would just like to know about other peoples experiences, and more to the point, what it was exactly that convinced them (or rather proved to themselves), that this experience was in fact a manifestation of your consciousness operating independently from your body.

I have had OBE's myself, and they were very interesting experiences. But I cannot say for sure that it was not just a very vivid, and very lucid dream.

Haven't been on here for quite some time now but I've recently been watching some interesting episodes (or lessons) of Spirit Science on You Tube. These videos were first brought to my attention by another post on this site because there is one video that talks primarily about AP. It's a cartoon, and and such, very easy to digest. I would whole heartily recommend anybody to watch them, but start with the first one. There is some really interesting stuff that I wasn't aware of to do with the flower of life and sacred geometrics. It does tend to get a bit 'out there' by lesson 12, but it's still interesting.

Anyway, it's got me back thinking about all this type of stuff and I thought of something that has happened to me a number of times, and I thought I'd ask if anybody else has had any similar experiences.

Sometimes I have a complete theory of something in my mind, or more like, I can completely understand a concept and see it's workings. But this is only for a brief moment. As soon as I try to verbalise my thought, it's gone! And I can't even remember what I was theorising about!!

Anybody else? Theories?

Cheers!  :-)

Sometimes when I reach the point that I feel I'm about phase, I get the strangest feeling. It feels as though my heart's just stopped and it been pulled up through my chest towards my mouth. Needless to say the shock of this jolts me back to full consciousness and I sit up with a start.
Anybody else experience this, or are there any ideas as to what's going on?? Thanks.  :|

Hi everyone,

Does anybody have any accounts of been in focus 3? And if so, what validations have you carried out to confirm it to yourselves?

Just interested is all.  :-)

Thanks.

Hi everyone,

I had my first successful, very conscious OBE this morning, two in fact! There'a a lot to be said for attempting to OBE after you've already slept, this has worked great for me.

Once I was out, (in the RTZ) I remembered that I had placed a playing card face up on a high shelf in another bedroom about 5 months ago! I went to it and discovered that the card was actually face down. I thought to myself that this was not right, but I actually tried to pick it up and turn it over. I looked at the card very hard but it was like trying to focus on a book when your blind drunk. I remember thinking, 'this is difficult, I think it's the five of diamonds' but the pattern kept changing and swirling around.

Once I went back to my body, I immediately went to the shelf and retrieved the card, guess what....I actually had placed it face down by accident! It was the eight of diamonds not five, but that's pretty close considering I could not have actually picked up the physical card really.

Do you think it was a coincidence, or did I somehow physically perceive the card?

Thanks for reading!  :-D

Made some more progress today, thought I'd share it in order to document it for myself if nothing else, but your comments would be most welcome.  :-)

I was on my way to work and I was pretty early (couldn't sleep this morning), but I got a bit too tired so I pulled into a service station to close my eyes for a while.
It wasn't long before I experienced vibrations, but they were fluctuating somewhat. I would wake up but then I'd also be able to go straight back into the vibrational state at will, pretty cool.
Eventually I started to see a scene before me, but it was awfully hazy, like looking though a grey net curtain, and everything was 2 dimensional. I'm sure it was the service station as I could make out lots of trucks and cars.
At some point though I was in the scene and I was floating along in an office (don't know how I got there!). I went in through a reception area and the women behind the desk smiled at me, and a guy I floated past looked round at me as if to say 'what are you doing here?' I remember thinking 'They shouldn't be able to see me!' so maybe I wasn't in the RTZ?
Anyway, I continued to float through the office and somebody caught my eye who looked really unhappy. Then I woke up and realised I'd been out for an hour! Time to get to work!!  :-D

Thought I'd share my first attempt at trying to project from a lucid dream, it didn't quite go to plan...again!

Over the past couple of months I've become a little better at LD so I thought to myself, next time I'm lucid in my dream I'll try to project and see if it works. Amazingly, as soon as I became lucid (last night) I remembered this and immediately thought - wow lets try to project. Straight away my dream landscape was sucked away from me and I was completely aware of being in my bed, paralysed and in complete blackness. I thought okay then, I may have come back a step but lets try to separate.
As I tried to move my arms it felt as though my duvet was made out of lead and I just could not get up. I then realised that I shouldn't be able to feel my duvet so I must be awake! This led straight into a false awakening scenario. My wife sat up beside me and asked me what I was doing, so I just lay back down again and then I woke up for real...DOH!

Never mind, I'm getting closer to that conscious projection!  :-)

Hopefully this could count as my third conscious exit??

I awoke after briefly falling asleep and I was in SP with vibrations (this is something that has always happened to me from time to time, but before a few months ago, didn't realise that it linked with OBE/AP). I decided to try to separate but it was a real struggle, also I could not see a thing.
After realising that struggling wasn't working, I decided to try to float out of my body. Then a faded image of me with my eyes closed asleep came into focus. I wasn't trying to look at myself, it just appeared. Then that faded and there was like a struggle to move and all of a sudden I was being whisked down my stairs and outside (vision came back but there was no control at all!!) Also, I had no body! As I was travelling down the stairs my vision was at the level that maybe my legs should have been! After flying around outside on the street I was somewhat disorientated, but then realised that I should try to do something that I'd always wanted to do. I thought 'I'm going to the moon!' But instead of flying up I sank! Maybe I got too excited because instantly I was wide awake and in my body. The whole experience probably lasted about 30 seconds!!

Was this a valid projection?

Hi,

I attempted to consciously project this morning but didn't quite make it, (again :|) however I did make some interesting progress. I experimented with the phasing process and definitely found the 3D blackness, although very briefly as I fell asleep!
However, I soon came to in full SP with vibrations but I could not separate. I saw a figure standing in the room next to me and I must admit I was a little anxious, so maybe that explains why I couldn't separate? I closed my eyes and start to hear a woman's voice. It was very strange because this is the second time I have heard the same voice when in this state and it was extraordinarily clear, although I have no idea what she was saying now.
Was the voice a hallucination or could have somebody been there?

Welcome to Astral Consciousness! / Strange word!
January 20, 2011, 08:36:21
Hi,

I today attempted to project by lying down and listening to an astral projection binaural beat mp3. I didn't manage to project (no surprises there!) but for moments I did drift into another form of consciousness from time to time. At one point I heard the word 'mewsons' being repeated over and over. It was as though an announcer with an American accent was repeating the word through a PA system. After about 5 repetitions I became more aware and came back to waking consciousness and all I could hear were the binaural beats again, weird!
Anyone know what mewsons means? It was pronounced - mew-zuns.  :?

Welcome to Out of Body Experiences! / Alcohol

Hi,

Does anyone have any thoughts on the positive or negative affects of alchol on AP attempts? My wife and I enjoy a glass or two of wine in the evening, (nothing excessive). Would this be detrimental to my efforts?

Thanks.

Hi everyone,

For some years now I have had spontaneous sleep paralysis that just seems to occur whenever it feels like it. It is only in these past couple of months that I have made the link with OBE and AP. I have had two projections that were somewhat dreamlike and only controllable to a certain extent, and I had originally past them off as dreams brought about by recent interest in AP, (until the advice of this community put me straight). The problem is that I haven't had fully conscious SP for sometime now. Does anybody know of a way to induce this? Or should I just go with the flow and wait??
:?

Thanks.

I woke up at 6:30 this morning and went down stairs. I then decided I would take this time to try to project so I lay on the sofa and made my attempt.
I had a false awakening at first, where I thought my wife had come down to get ready for work but I then awoke for real only to find that I was still alone. I closed my eyes again and at some point I began to experience the vibrations along with SP. I tried to free myself but to no avail and I was worried about breaking the SP, so I decided to use the technique recommended my Xanth yesterday, and imagined my self floating. At this point things got rather strange!
:?
It was still dark and when I tried to look down at myself asleep on the sofa, I appeared to be wearing a strange mask of some sort, like a skeleton mask. I wasn't worried as I felt quite excited. I then decided to go up the stairs to see my wife in bed. As I passed my kitchen there seemed to be the strange shape of an elephant face looking at me in the gloomy dark! I ignored this and proceeded. Half way up the stairs I began to have a double vision. I could see the stairs and I could also see the Christmas tree in my living room as it would have looked from my sleeping position in my physical body!! I managed to over come this but from time to time the split vision would reappear of it's own accord.

I then went in through to the bed room and the door was open, but I knew it to be closed??? I then decided to return to my body but I don't recall anything after that.

All through the experience I don't think I was actually quite lucid. Things didn't look the way I had expected them to, and I felt like I was really on a ride rather than actually making any predetermined decisions.

Should I have called for more consciousness, or was it really just a dream brought about by having AP on my mind?

Your thoughts would be most welcome! Thanks. :-)

Hi,

I've been trying to project now for a couple of months and I think I've come close but I'm not sure.
I've had spontaneous sleep paralysis since I was about 10 but I have always shook myself out of it due to been scared. I was only when researching SP that I found out about the link between SP and AP, so I have been trying. I think I managed to get my hand free one morning and I could see straight through it! But I'm not sure if I was just lucid dreaming?? I could also see my eyelashes, but not blurry like when you squint your eyes, they were all in focus and perfectly formed. Is that normal??

To get to the point, I really want to believe in the Astral Plane, so if it exists, what is the point of this physical one? Why is the Astral Plane so unbelievable to other people if they are like minded spirits?

Cheers,
