Hello Friends, I have another discussion for you today.
I got around to finally seeing the documentary "what the bleep do we know", and I liked it for the most part. There was a person who said something that made me think about good/bad, right/wrong, etc.. I looked up his quote on google:

"If I do this, I'm going to get punished by God. If I do the other thing, I'm going to get rewarded. This is a really poor description that tries to carve out a path in life for us to follow. But with deplorable results. Because there is really no such thing as good or bad. We're judging things far too superficially that way. Does that mean you're in favor of sin and licentiousness an depravity? No. It simply means that you need to improve your expression and understanding of what you're dealing with here.

There are things that I do, and I know they'll evolve me. There are other things that will not evolve me. But it's not good or bad. There's no God waiting to punish you because you did one or the other."
-Dr. Miceal Ledwith

So, if he is saying there is no good or bad, then what are positive vibrations (energy) and negative vibrations (energy)? I for one associate positive energy with "good" and negative energy with "bad". For example, if someone is being extremely rude to someone else, they are usually emitting negative energy towards that person. I perceive that action as a bad thing. But what makes it bad? Well, it all has to do with how you feel. I know that when I am emitting positive energy I feel good, if i'm emitting negative energy, I feel bad. I don't understand how there couldn't be good or bad when there is positive and negative. Aren't they really the same thing or no?

Anyone like to share their thoughts?

Hi all! So I thought I would share something that personally happened to me a few months ago. I was in my apartment, severely upset and depressed over a heartbreak. This was before I started to really delve into my spiritual awakening, and I was letting my ego get in the way big time. I was crying, yelling, blaming God and my spirit guides; I was even literally kicking laying in my bed. I was so negative that whilst in the middle of my tantrum, the power in my apartment went out for about 30 seconds. I don't know if my own energy caused manipulation to the electricity in my apartment, or if it was a way that someone was telling me to basically "calm down". Either way, I immediately went silent and stopped crying.

p.s. it was not storming.

Welcome to Quantum Physics! / Debating Consciousness
September 14, 2012, 04:31:54
Hello all,
Sometimes my Father and I have debates pertaining to spirituality. He is an atheist, and I consider myself a new-ager.
We recently came across the subject of consciousness.

His point of view: Consciousness is nothing more than chemicals in the brain that work together to create thoughts, emotions, and reactions. Then when we die, those chemicals cease to move, therefore you no longer exist (meaning there is no after-life).

So he basically believes that we are just highly evolved animals, and our intelligence and awareness are nothing more than chemical reactions.

I told him that I believe there is more to it than that. However, I didn't really have a response to counteract his point of view though, because I am still in the early stages of my spiritual path to enlightenment, including the studying of quantum physics. His statement got me thinking, almost to the point of believing it because I felt the skepticism of my ego kicking in. I need deeper understanding, that's why I'm making this thread.

Based on your knowledge, what are your opinions or even opposition on his statement?

I'll admit I am in a phase of confusion. Because of how I was raised, I do question a lot of things and want scientific explanations as well. On the other hand, I have had experiences (such as seeing orbs and being able to feel spiritual energy) that cannot be explained with science, so I know there is more than just this three dimensional "reality"...  but my Father thinks it's just all in my mind, and that the brain can convince itself to believe whatever it wants to.

I'm in the process of learning to LD. I have started a dream journal and can remember some of my dreams. However my dreams are sooooo boring lately. I seriously dream about normal everyday life things. Like going to work, talking to people I know, nothing that it's out of the ordinary. So how do you suppose I will realize I'm dreaming if the dream scenery is a mimic of my everyday scenery?

The weird thing is that I'm an artist and very creative, so why are my dreams so dull at the moment? It hasn't always been this way, just the last few weeks.

I am fairly new to astral projection. I have made it to the vibrational stage several times, though haven't gone further yet. Whenever I stop practicing and start moving around more, my physical body feels like I have "sea-legs" or "sea-body" really. I just feel like my whole body is light and in motion and my head feels dizzy. Is this normal and what is the cause of this? Is the astral body moving around?

Greetings!

I'm happy I stumbled onto this forum. I was browsing google on metaphysics and found this awesome site! Anyway a little background, I'm fairly new to astral projection / OBEs & lucid dreaming. I have not had a full OBE yet but I know practice makes perfect. I've always had an attraction to metaphysics ever since I was little. Glad to be a new member   :-)
