I'm pretty sure it's not the first time, but the first time I've experienced this in a long time.  I was trying to fall asleep, but was well aware that I was still awake and conscious when I heard sounds playing softly.  It sounded to me like really garbled talk radio playing in the distance.  I couldn't specifically make out any distinct words, phrases or speakers.  It was incredibly annoying and it started bothering me as I rose to look for an alarm clock radio that may have somehow been on in another room.  After my brief search there was nothing and as I rose to go looking the sounds stopped.  I didn't really try to interact with the voices, I just got a little ticked and moved to a different location to go to sleep.

I've been poking around on the net and some people are talking about it's the dead trying to contact you and other are saying it smacks of schizophrenia.  I'm fairly certain that I'm not schizophrenic, although I do occasionally have an overactive internal monologue.  I'm almost 30 and I would assume any clairvoyant abilities would have manifested a long time ago.  So, I'm turning to the collective knowledge of the Astral pulse for some sort of answer or guidance as to how to proceed should this happen again.

Thanks in advance for whatever wisdom I receive.

I was sleeping in my bed for no longer than an hour when I was rapidly warned in my dream that danger was lurking very closely.  My initial thoughts and reaction in my dream were, how could I have let myself fall asleep and not have my knife in my hand ready to stop an attack.  This was a strange thought, because quite obviously I do not sleep with a knife in my hand.  However, I did fall asleep with a large quartz crystal in my left hand that is supposed to be a poultice to help with clearing negative thoughts and enhancing relaxation.  I popped out of my r.e.m. sleep and my eyes sprang open but my body felt completely paralyzed.  I heard a noise and felt a presence around me.  The paralysis is one thing, that I understand about OBE's and that whole process, but what I felt writhing up the sides of my bed like a slow moving ivy was an entirely different scenario.

The noise can only be described as a swirling/shuffling, like two pieces of soft cloth moving against each other under a quiet gust of wind, or the quickening absence of sound as though all the noise in the room were being pulled into an invisible whirlwind that muted everything.

The presence was far more harrowing.  (I don't know why but I sleep with a Himalayan rock salt crystal light in my room.  There are no natural windows and I'm not afraid of the dark but I feel far more comfortable having a low level of light as opposed to complete blackness.  I've also been prompted by my spirit guide on another occasion to go sleep where there is sunshine.)  My eyes opened as I lay facing the ceiling with my body immobilized and not moving as I was desperately trying to force myself to do.  To be ready to punch up, hop to my feet, anything.  I could feel a strange creeping sensation like a chilling vibration or wave lurking around my body and up and over the sides of the bed onto the unoccupied blanket space around me.  Moving closer and probing around me.  In my mind I started chanting 'Ohm mani padme Ohm' instinctively for instantaneous protection against whatever was around me.  I also mentally scrambled and cried out for my spirit guide by name to come and knock the crap out of whatever was in my room with me watching me sleep and creeping up on me.  I also asked G-d to cover me in white light to protect and heal me.  Bam, my voice started working and my 'Ohm mani padme Ohm' came out loud and clear.  As I did these three things I could feel the presence leave, but I was still freaking out and continued to chant my Ohm's until I felt slightly better.  Then I ran to my computer and wrote this down in the hopes that someone out there would be able to offer me some sort of explanation.

This isn't the first time I've felt weird like this, it's just the most memorable and clear.  Usually I just wake up feeling like garbage after a night of black dreams.  Please, anyone with any insight write me and let me know what in the world or otherwise is going on around me.  I know the difference between good spiritual feelings and stop this isn't cool, it's freaking me out, I don't like this lurking violently vibrating amorphous cloud of acute angst business, because it's not cool.  Help, please.

Be well,

I'm not going to go into extreme depth of this particular experience because it was very vivid.  The crux of it revolves around a particular spirit which I believe to be a demon that I had banished.  Lately I've been having more and more "double wake ups"  which I think are very brief obe's.  I'll be more concious and aware, but everything is dark and my first instinct is to get back to my body and wake up, although that has changed over time.  But I have yet to project consciously.  Anyways.  I was having a dream that changed into another dream and all of a sudden this man was wrapping a hood over my head, like burlap something rough that I couldn't see through.  The thought entered my head, what the heck was I doing letting someone bind me.  I suddenly recalled like 4 dreams previous that I had just gone through as though I was doing what I do right when I wake up, and remembered I had a mini-torch, like a fierce lighter in my pocket from an earlier dream.  I grabbed it and burnt the mans hand who was binding me.  He freaked a bit, like I wasn't supposed to be able to move or even be aware of anything going on.  I took off the hood and stared him down, he first made a move to fight me, but realized I was aware of what was going on, and tried to run from me.  Somehow I realized I had to take him out, instead of letting him run off to try again. I found a sword, a really strange long sword that was slim with a rounded tip, one sided and when swung with the dull side it became fluidic and almost whiplike.  Anyways I stuck at the man, and sliced his head clean open down the center of his forehead.  A spirit leaked right out of his now cleaved skull, floated through the air and 'possesed' thenext body it could find.  I was so dumbfounded that somethign had popped out of this mans head that I didn't even know what to do.  I started reciting some chinese counter curse, which I don't even know if it's real, to stop the spirit from using it's powers.  It didn't help, he took this new body and tried to run for it, but I followed him and he had found a greek short sword and once again after a fairly intense sword fight I sliced his head open.  the spirit leaked out and went into another body.  I grabbed his sword and went after the third body, eventually fought him as he had stolen another sword from somewhere, and I won, and this time when the spirit popped out, I took the long sword and sliced the escaping spirit in half, it seemed to drop out of the air lifelessly.  I was muttering the counter curse this whole time, I then had the thought that I was finally done, I finally got him.  I woke up and wrote it all down.  I've been having dreams lately with things happening in threes, usually three people that I have to deal with, and usually I just try and escape the situations because they are senseless and I never seem to get anywhere by reasoning it out.  I don't even know where to start.  Does anyone have any thoughts as to what is going on in my mind?  Does this sound like it might be a neg or something of that sort trying to mess with me, or just an over active imagination.  I don't suppose negs can get into your dreams and mess with your mind can they?  I have very little knowledge of negs and the like.  after all it could just be a dream, but it really felt like something more, like a finally had accomplished the destruction of this bastard who had been bothering me for so long.  Not just this dream, but for a long time.  Anyways, any input is greatly appreciated.

Be well,
J

Hi, this might sound just as mad.  It does work.  Imagine a mirror around your head, see it in your minds eye.  Within seconds you should feel them easing off, then you can choose to call one in or not.  All I can say is try it.

Love Always.[:)]

Sounds to me like a classic example of hypnogogic imagery.  If so, this is completely common and a biproduct of watching your body go to sleep by focusing on your mind's eye. [^]

First thing is first:  THIS IS A LONG POST, SORRY...
I have heard that it is possible to lend a hand to someone attempting a projection, while you are doing it yourself.  I however am certainly not at that stage yet.  You say you have been trying for 3-4 months and now you sound frustrated.  When I first learned how to project I was 17 years old.  I am 21 now, and it wasn't until this year that I actually discovered how it was done.  Once it happened I discovered what the last lesson I had to learn before my accomplishment was... patience.  When you want something to happen so bad, you ruin it by trying too hard.  If you want to project you have to LET yourself project.  You may think you are ready, but maybe you have more to consider.  For instance, how will you react when you finally FEEL the vibrations.  You've read about them I'm sure, so you know what to expect.  But when they come, will you get so excited you finally felt them, that you will lose your focus?  Probably, so that's another step you must get past.  Then finally you will learn how to focus on projecting once the vibrations come.  Once that happens you will be out, but then what will you do?  Float around for a few seconds before you end up back in your body?  There are many steps that must be done to be enlightenend.  It doesn't end once you finally succeed in leaving your body.  On the contrary, it is just the beginning.  Therefor perhaps for your first OBE to be beneficial, you must first learn how to have the patience to control it.  Untill then, try and try and try and try.  After enough trying, you will succeed.  But you don't know how much trying it takes, UNTILL you succeed.

Hey nthjbam...

Very interesting man... Thanks for sharing...

As far as I know Bellilin is not a woman, but a chant. This could be a friend from between lives, or other lives, or just a nonphysical entity who finds you attractive. [:)] It happens... [:)]

I say go with it, or ask her to help you out. They can be of service. She seems pretty gentle, but you may want to specify HOW you want help out, for instance 'please hold my hand and nudge me away from my physical body when I get free,' for instance. Talk to her mentally, even while you are still docked with your physical body, and it will work. If you talk to her while you are in trance or partial trance that will work better...

Enjoy. [:)]

Welcome to Dreams! / Dreaming oddities
November 16, 2003, 12:01:44
Dreaming in the third person is more common than you think.  Some how I would be willing to bet that certain habbits effect this, like gaming.

Reading, writing, and math in dreams is a bit tricky.  First off reading, for me it seems to work fine at first.  I will look at a sign or a news paper and know what it says when I first look at it.  But if I look at it again it will say some thing different.  Also it is not so much that I am reading the sign or paper, it is more like I am getting an impression of what it says.

I have never tried to write anything that I can recall.  SO I am not really sure.  Math is damn near impossible while dreaming.  This is because it is more of a logical process than reading.  My brain seems to skip any math that happens in dreams.  I mean its there and all but for some reason its always okay, even if "2+2 = 5.5".  It's always okay and does not register as being wrong in anyway.

Now I would assume that more of these various kinds of functions could eventually be overcome depending on a persons level of awareness durring dreams.  Seeing as more of your consious mind is active durring dreams where you are more aware or fully lucid, I don't see why it could not help to perform some of the more logical functions.

I found the best method that started me off lucid dreaming was to simply think alot about being lucid during the day, read the forums often and also to do reality checks every now and again saying things like "Am i dreaming".. Dont just say it though, actually look around and think about it. I used to try and change the colour of something like a wall.
When its on your mind to do reality checks you will eventually do one in a dream and you should become lucid (if you realise).

Good luck anyway.

Well everyone is diffrent so techniques will work for some and not work for some.

What I do is just lie on my bed and later I will get these lights in my eyelids. After a wile they go away and I see a tie-dye effect. 3 seconds after that I get vibes.

I started getting the "pin prick" sensations about two years ago and it has continued and progressed ever since. They started out as short little pin pricks at different locations all over my body. Now they sometimes last as long as 10 or 20 minutes. It is part of an overall body transformation to a higher vibration state. It is part of a healing of the body and a strengthening of your personal energy grid system. Welcome it and ask what you can do to help. For me it meant lots of emotional clearing and letting go of old childhood emotions. All those unfelt emotions block up our energy flow.

You might also have a sore neck or sore back. The tension will be released when you find the underlying cause (old suppressed emotions) and let them go (i.e. let them go by acknowledging them and feeling them).

I have been in this process for two years now and am just beginning to catch a glimpse of what is possible once we get our energy system in order. Most of it I can't put into words but it is truly amazing.

Take care and get lots of rest as the body transformation can be very physically demanding and tiring.

Are you sure that his intentions were no good, or is it that seeing someone you do not know in your house caused you feel uneasy and thus cloud your judgement? It can be hard to tell in such situations. If you have any control over this dream, next time try talking to him. Maybe he is not as negative as you think and has something to tell you. Or maybe he is just curious about you. Either way, try to remain calm and don't jump to judgements.

Hi,
Before you read the rest of my reply, I'm not giving you an answer in any way. But when I first read your post....Well....you have got my attention!

It must mean something that your dreams are so clear. I often write my dreams down to remember them and see if I can find any logical connections and/or explanations. But it's not really working, because my dreams are so weird...I'm sure u know what I mean.
A dream like you write down...I've never had something like that. But I think it's very usefull to you if you write all you dreams down. Maybe you can find some logical connections between them.
I read that all the dreams you have, you'r looking for something but you don't know what right? I really don't know if it's the portal to the Astral, so you will have an OBE.
Something else I can advise you, is start meditation practise, it helps you to make your mind more clear and maybe you can get trougt that door during meditation

Well, I know I didn't realy help you, but I'm just really interested in your dreams so I just replyed...

Personaly, I don't really focus on anything...  I am just waiting for any visual, audio or body sensations and just observe it...

Well, I've only ever heard good things about 'Tommi's vibration starter' and you have just provided more evidence for its validity.
You should be pleased that you got vibes so quickly, it shows you are on to a good thing; believe me, if only all presets and other techniques had such results we'd all be laughing!

My advice is that you should take the vibes as a good sign and keep working with the preset, trying to stay awake longer into it!
