Could somebody please give me a deep but simple explanation to the nature of the astral plane? I'd like to understand more thoroughly the relationship between our minds and the so-called matter I see when I'm APing.
This morning I woke up, it was the middle of the day and it was very bright, I fell back to sleep and had a very interested dream which triggered my projection. I was shot by a man in my dream – and because of my belief that we exit the body when the body fails I started to come out of it in the dream but at the same time I was exiting my body on the physical plane. I thought this was a pretty interesting trigger to trigger my projection, but anyway that's not the point, the point is, my bedroom looked far cleaner and slightly different and it was very dark, just like it is at night. I know it was a projection, I felt the intense vibrations running through my body and the noises of frequency as I exited and entered my body. So why is this? It's happened quite a few times, why doesn't the astral world perfectly reflect our physical world? Is it because of my lack of memory of the waking world? Maybe I projected into a different time than I was in in the waking world at that present moment? Or is the astral plane just too unpredictable for an explanation?
I do believe that thought and mind chatter vibrates at a higher frequency, hence why we cannot see it on this physical plane e.g. if I imagine/visualize a tiny dragon next to my keyboard, I can see it there but it is not actually there in this physical plane, but it is actually existing in a different plane of existence. How true would you say this is and am I on the right lines to trying to understand the nature of the astral world which has been baffling me for a while?

peace and love

One time I was walking home at night, I became lucid and to my extent of knowledge I think I was astral projecting. Anyway As I became lucid I flew up for a bit towards my house, but suddenly I lost control, and I was swaying side to side throwing me everywhere, i was swaying over a big field next to my house, the field is usually empty but this time there were things and people on it and some of these people and children were watching me... anyway this morning I had a similar experience. I became lucid infront of my house, I thought I was astral projecting so I flew up to my room and saw myself sleeping with the dog just as I remember going to sleep. So I thought cool I'm projecting, so as i leave the room and go through the wall it happens to me again and this time in blackness. Its like something is throwing me side to side (its a seriously intense feeling!! as its happening i am trying to focus extremely hard to try and be still. i cant remember anything after that... could someone try and interpret my experience? thanks  :? :-)

Last night I became lucid in a dream. I deliberatly came out of the dream to have an obe. So I woke up and then started feeling the vibrations and heard all sorts. Usually I hear static, like TV static, it was the same but this time i was hearing a lot of voices, like off an old radio station - this is why I am questioning the experience. Anyway I started coming of my body and went through the wall infront of me, but as I came out of the other side of the wall I entered into my old living room where I used to live about 5 years ago.. is that normal, was this a dream? From their I said affirmations to try to calm me down like 'clarity now' and stuff, and then I tried thinking myself to somewhere else but I wasnt moving. Just thought id get your opinions and what it really was?  :-) thanks

In my waking life i used to live in a flat since i was about 2 years old, i moved out about 4 years ago. but this morning, i seemed to have woken up in my astral or dream body form out of my old bunk bed i used to have as a child. Positive in my mind that i was astral projecting i looked at the bed to see if i could see myself, i could not see my physical body but i could see the indents of it on my bed and the moving around on my bed if you know what i mean (maybe it was the person who lives there now?. so anyway i start to say 'clarity now' and calm myself down in hope to have a more steady prolonged experience. i have been wanting to call for my spirit guide for a long time so i call out for her/him. immeadiatley she appears, a small girl, looks around the same age as me maybe a bit older. i give her a hug straight away. she doesnt seem very happy... she says i am not a tool to use (or something along those lines), i say of course not, i only wanted to meet you. I ask for her name she says Rachel. and i ask how long she has been watching over me and she says 15 years (im 18). i say wow, and from then i think i start to wake up.

so what are your guys thoughts? was it a dream or was i in an astral form? i mean im starting to question all reality now, dreams sometimes dont even seem to be 'just dreams', its like the dream world is an actual dimension of its own with its own dream body. and maybe sometimes we use other bodies which we dont even know about! such as the etheric body or some kind of unkown astral body, anyway excited to hear your thoughts as you guys will have more knowledge about spirit guides than i do, i have read something that you can also meet your spirit guides in meditation and dreams other than just the astral realm. thanks

One time I woke from a lucid dream and focused on astral projection... i woke up and then found myself in a different house (not sure if it was an actual obe), but if it was an obe, is it possible to just wake up not near your body?

btw has anyone ever woken up and your in a sleep paralysis state but also trying to come out of your body at the same time? and your in this very frustating state of trying to move? I think i was near the ceiling one time just floating there.. stuck.

oh and could anybody explain what phasing is? thank you

I'm dieing to tell fellow astral projectors so I have now joined this forum!

First I was interested in lucid dreaming and I have been enjoying that so much for a long time. But there has been that difficult skill I have been trying to do for more than 6 months and finally this morning I had a dream... I did the holding nose reality check and became lucid, but shortly after becoming lucid for some reason everything went black for a while. My conciousness then came back to my physical body and out of nowhere my hand started pulsing/vibrating, soon after my whole body was in huge waves of vibrations... and what interested me a lot was the amazing sounds i heard, my ears felt like they closed off from any other sounds in our world and i started hearing low vibrations and lots of static like a tv!

soon after i could open my eyes (astral eyes) and move my head up, i then floated up out of my physical... i knew not to stay in the room so i flew through a wall. unfortunately someone was making noise in my house so i think thats what brought me back to my body. i can't believe i have finally done it. also, when i woke up my face was like tingly hot but not discomfortable hot, like i wasnt sweating or anything, is that normal?

i do have a question too. visually things wern't that vivid i think maybe because i was trying to stay calm the whole time mixed with so much excitement but i don't know, things kind of seemed more darker and mystical? do i have to train my astral travels to be more vivid like i had to with my lucid dreams?
