Hello fellow forumer's,

I have discovered a technique that will instantly get you into the paralysis/rem state without depriving yourself of too much sleep.

the technique is as follows

1. it helps if you excersise during the day and tire your physical body, i highly recommend running or football because it gets you into a passive stress free depression free exhausted state. this step is optional.

2. Go to bed around 10:30-11 with a book and a dim light, bright enough too read and dim enough to help you fall asleep. The book is necessary because it makes your mind more clear and focused, you can also get a very boring book to help you get drowsy and begin to fall assist in falling asleep if you have sleeping problems.

3. After reading for like 10-15 minutes set your alarm clock to wake you up 5-15 minutes later, in my case, the sooner the alarm wakes me up, the more intense step 4 is going to be.

4. After setting your alarm, close your eyes and make sure your whole body is comfortable and go to sleep on your back, you should begin to feel white flashes in your head before you even fall asleep. When you do fall asleep, you will either get sleep paralysis or intense hallucinations and dream images, this is the condition that will allow you to explore the out of body state.

I hope this was useful info to you.

A habit is something that happens without willpower.  Its something you do because you're used to it, are you sure this is what  you're talking about.

You also said "consistancy and passiveness will greatly assist you."  That seems to contradict itself.

Just wondering exactly what you mean by habit.  I think you're onto something about the not procrastinating thing.  But a habit could be procrastination.

Hi! I'm new here, this is my first post, though I've been lurking for a little while. Your post is really interesting to me because it explains much of what has been happening to me.

Here's my story:

As a child I had many lucid dream/AP experiences (though I didn't know what they were called), but as I grew up these seemed to fade. At least until a couple of months ago, when various things started happening, and for a while I thought I was losing my mind. I mentioned some of these things to my mother, and I was surprised when she mentioned that a sort of "sixth sense" runs in her family, from her grandmother's side. I had thought I was just weird! No one ever mentioned this to me growing up, almost all of them are Fundamentalist Christians! My great-grandmother was part Cherokee, and now that I think about it, NO ONE on that side of the family has ever had a heart attack and are all extremely long-lived (great grandma lived to be 101, her children are all in their late 80's and 90's now). Perhaps we all have an inherited tendency to have low blood pressure (and thus, also, this sixth sense)?

So my bit of anecdotal evidence backs up your theory, at least!

I'm so glad to have found this board! It's good to know I'm not alone!

Callie

Edited because I'm a mom and I don't want anyone to get any foolish ideas about raiding mom and dad's medicine cabinet. My medical condition is quite rare, as is the medication I'm on, so don't make the mistake of thinking your parent's plain old high blood pressure medicine will help you AP. Taking any kind of prescription medication without a dr's supervision could be harmful, even fatal, and besides, that's not what I'm on anyway.

this was impossible for me to do before, because i could never fall asleep in that position, but after braces straightened my mouth and teeth, I can sleep comfortably on my back

Are you saying that BEFORE braces, you couldn't sleep on your back because of your mouth and teeth?  Whoa, those suckers must have protruded outta your mouth like kickstands!  [:D]

Just playing!  I had a good laugh, though, when I read that sentence you wrote.  Like you, I NEVER used to be able to sleep on my back.  I was always a side and stomach guy, myself.  However, after years of OBE training and meditation, I now sleep just fine on my back, and in fact, I have slightly more OBE's in that position than any other.

It helps greatly when i go to bed after excersising at the Y.

Yep, I have found that exercise is great for many reasons.  One, a healthy body is always a good thing, and two, it usually tires out the body and relaxes it before bed, so that the mind is still active but the physical shell just kinda melts away from exhaustion.

and my heart felt like it was slowly dying, i actually felt my heart stop ( that is when i decided to stop the excersise).

Granted, I'm no doctor, but I don't think it was your heart stopping.  What usually happens is that as your focus slowly transitions from the physical senses to the astral senses, you lose track of things.

This is really apparent in your hearing.  If you ever try and meditate with some white noise in the background, like a fan or something oscillating, you will notice that once you reach a certain point, this sound seems to get quieter and quieter.  It's almost like you can start to tune it out and shut it off.

Of course, what's really happening is that you're drawing your focus INWARD instead of outward.  So in the case of your "heart stopping," it's really beating just fine.  You're just losing track of the natural functionality of your physical body and becoming aware of your astral senses, which won't really feel the physical heart.

Usually, I (and many others) feel the opposite.  They feel what appears to be their heart going a million miles per hour, which is not really the physical heart at all (which some beginners mistakingly think), but instead, it's the heart chakra, an energy center located where your heart is, that begins pulsating like a frog on fire.

my only problem is, how do i get a full OBE from this state,

You are on the right track.  You just need to keep up with the relaxation, and try not to let your focus keep getting drawn back to the physical body.

ok, why only 'A' and 'B' types, there can be infinite numbers like 'C', 'D' ......'Z1', 'z29'.....and so on.

But only A and interact with gravity meant for 'A'

good plan, ill try it. the method i use is the old ways.

lie down and get your whole body relaxed, it takes me around 20min. to do it. than after concentrate on projecting, either that start thinking of a place where you want to end up.usually i just concentrate on projecting, after a minute or two i start seeing images and scenes. (one time i did this and i got very bad vibes, and i did nearly a full spin!) it was sccary and at that point i stopped right away because i felt they would get worse.
