I don't know where everyone here is with everything but I would say this video summarizes the most profound teaching I think i've ever discovered. I wish growth and love for you all!

Hello everyone,

I put "fully" in quotations because i'd like to discuss what it really means to fully prepare yourself for a full blown phase/OBE. I think the way i've been perceiving my "waking life" has hindered my understanding of what I'm truly searching for in astral travel. I would like to start by saying, I have a bit of a personal issue with feeling "there" I am constantly focusing my awareness on internal matters and I think this has led to not feeling present in this current reality. In pursuit of the astral reality, I have lost touch with that sensation of existing on this plane. This ability to focus on our present reality is likely to hurt our ability to focus on any reality. This all being said, I've realized it may be time to regard this reality with the same awareness and "there-ness" I would in a full blown astral projection.

Furthermore, I have started asking myself what I find to be a very important question. "What will it be like in the astral?" I think the reason so many people get close to projecting and find their progress constrained, is because it really is that vivd. If during meditation, our consciousness as a whole isn't entirely in tune with that notion, and expecting that,  I would imagine it would be less likely for your subconscious self, and the energy of the astral as a whole, to "let" you in.

Please don't mistake any of my potential insight for knowledge i've acquired from astral travel. I have only successfully entered the astral a few times, and these visits were of very short duration. But I can however, extrapolate by regarding certain commonly reported qualities of the astral as axioms. Our expectations and beliefs HEAVILY affect our experience of the astral. That's not to be kept in mind only when you're "there" but as you attempt to reach it.

There are a lot of incredibly knowledgeable people on this forum, and I may be preaching to the choir here, but this is something I haven't really read about and it has helped me quite a bit and even if this helps one person, that'd be great!

Hello everyone!
I haven't really been practicing projection as much lately because i've had a lot of stressful and emotionally draining things going on. Nothing has really changed but I've decided times like these are really trying but can also be a great time to change things about yourself. What better to change than getting to know myself better and how better to do it than meditation/projection?

So, I've come back to all this and i kinda realized I might be missing something that is key to the whole process of actually projecting. This is kind of a weird question but I think you'll understand where I'm headed when I distinguish these two forms of conscious visualization.

When you close your eyes, you see the millions of dots of different colors, they start forming patterns or moving around etc.

However, there is the straight up "ok imagine a... slice of pizza". your focus shifts from the closed eye to some inner picture of a piece of pizza.

When you project, which one of those is the window out? Knowing this will really help me understand where to focus. Thanks!

Welcome to Out of Body Experiences! / My Life Goal
November 17, 2011, 21:23:44
I know exactly what I want to spend my physical life doing. It's really more of a spiritual goal, but whatever. Anyway, it has recently crossed my mind that when I project I should be able to go and awaken other people and pull them out of their bodies. If so, I could very likely bring about their full conscious awareness. I could explain AP to them, show them around, answer any questions, etc. It would be such a wonderful gift to give to someone! I would plan to organize a group of projectors that go and do this nightly and we could slowly wake the world up :)

Has anyone heard of this type of thing? Any advice?
Thanks!

Hello everyone,
I'm going to hope i'm not the only one when I say I am confused about what is considered to be meditation and the ideal meditative state of mind. I really wish I had any further input but I'm really just presenting those two questions and hoping I can discuss this topic with my highly knowledgeable friends on Astral Pulse :)

When we say we need to meditate to help OBE or achieve and OBE, what specifically are we talking about?

What specifically is that ideal meditative state?

Hey guys,
So i've read through most of Monroe's stuff, and obviously most of the stuff on this forum :] It's all been really helpful. I have an insatiable appetite for hearing about OBE's and I was wondering if anyone could point me towards maybe a good book or website for even more.

Hello all,
I recently had my first projection experience ( http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/welcome_to_astral_projection_experiences/my_first_projection-t35604.0.html ) and I've come across something that I've not heard anything about but I feel like it's my duty to share if this helps even ONE person. I've struggled greatly with projecting in the past (probably still will :P) and I feel like my main hang-up was getting my  awoken consciousness acquainted with my astral body. My main focus has always been the straight-up conscious projection. I felt like LD's were cool and all but nothing would be as amazing as a conscious mind inhabiting physical body > conscious mind inhabiting astral body. Anyway, since my recent attempts to project, I've noticed an immense increase in both my dream recall and my consciousness in my dreams. The other night, after I projected I realized something that I think greatly helped me "get out".

Most people agree that dreams are projections with your unconscious mind. That being said, a lucid dream is when you have your "awoken consciousness" in a dream which means it's inhabiting your second body. I'm beginning to feel that lucid dreams would act as that first bridge between your astral body and awoken consciousness which to my understanding is the primary goal and most fundamental element to having a conscious OBE.

I am DEFINITELY not an astral guru; I'm a total rookie. These are just my thoughts and they make a great bit of sense to me. I'd love to hear other's opinions on this topic!

Hey everybody!
This weekend, I'm pretty certain I experienced my first projection! I think it could be argued it was more of a LD but let me just recount my experiences and you guys can be the judges (:

It was around 4 am last saturday, I was in my bed asleep and suddenly I awoke but I didn't feel groggy or anything like I usually do. I felt like 75-80% conscious and I was overwhelmed by SUPER intense vibrations. Robert Monroe has described the vibrations as more of an electric shock surging through your body minus the pain which is EXACTLY how I would describe the sensation. I realized this was a shot at finally projecting so I began to accept the vibrations and let them flow through my body. I then instinctively did this thing I've been able to do since I was like 10. It would probably take me a good bit of writing to explain it in great detail but to put simplistically: I can activate the sensation of surprise or shock through my body but I can prolong it and make it last as long as I want. If anyone is curious about this, i'll post a separate forum somewhere else on here about it. Anyway, whatever that was... it made everything about 10 times more intense for me. I could FEEL my astral body; I just couldn't move it. I tried to rollout, move my arms, etc but nothing worked. I then started to visualize my arms outstretched in front of me because I've read this is the action to take when you can't separate. My goal location was in the room I was sleeping in.

So, the visualizations began as two little yellowish blurs in the blackness of my eyes. Slowly I could see them turning into my actual hands. It's difficult to explain what they looked like but I would best describe it as green outlines of a flowing current of energy. I could see my *hands* between the outlines but it wasn't as bright as the perimeters. Anyway, these became extremely vivid to the point where they were *real*, and I started to see a room in front of me. At this point, I was flashing in and out from this room to my close eyelids and it was EXTREMELY intense for me. I kept focusing on being in that room and eventually I was literally there. Everything was green. The only color I could see was green but I remember it being a very detailed view. I was in what seemed like a house's computer room. I can't put my finger on specifically where or who's house it was but it was extremely familiar for some reason. I was there for about 3 seconds and it was all just so real it shocked me. I could hear the background noise of the room and feel the weight of an entirely new state of being overwhelming my senses. This threw my back into my body.

At first, I was like pshh that was a dream but the more and more I analyze it I have concluded this was basically a conscious projection. I'm still having difficulty getting anywhere near this stage with my fully awoken consciousness. I'm just really stoked it happened! The only special thing that happened that night was I had a very intense and nearly lucid dream but throughout the dream I was focusing on projecting. If anyone is curious, I'll give a full account of the dream because I really do feel this had something to do with waking up later and experiencing all this.

I feel like this was a major step in my journey and I just want to thank everyone for the support!

Hello all,
Yes yes, this is a somewhat silly question. I've not experienced the astral, but in a recent post it was mentioned that the traveler and a few other were conversing and SMOKING WEED? I smoke pot occasionally, and rather like it. Besides the point, this is something that really caught my interest. Has anyone had experiences like these? Can you get "high" in the astral? Could I smoke hookah in the astral? Are these stupid questions? Forgive me if so. I wish there was a less serious category I could post this in and I really hope this doesn't get in anyone's way of finding more "valuable" information.

So, I haven't ever projected but would it be good for me to try it while in a moving vehicle? Do you think i could pull it off? I mean obviously, a bed or chair is better but I think anything is possible :o. Going to be on a road trip tomorrow and I'd sure love to project haha :D

Thoughts?

Hello all!
As some of you may know, I've been working on projecting for a little over a month and haven't just yet. I get to what I think is the vibrational phase, but no matter what I do, I can't move my "astral body". The two questions I'm posing are:

a. How do you know the vibrations you're feeling are the correct ones to begin to sense, and control your astral body

b. When the vibrations are the correct kind, what are the best ways to begin controlling the astral body, let alone leave.

I'm not asking for techniques. I've read plenty. I'm asking for details about pulling these techniques off. What would you say to advise someone who doesn't know if they've felt their astral body and wants to know how to move it?

I'm getting closer and learning more every day and I couldn't have progressed this quickly if it wasn't for everyone's incredible support!
thanks guys :D

I am going to do the best to describe the consistent experience and result of my OBE attempts in the best detail possible. Before I begin, thanks so much for taking the time to try and help me!

I usually try to attempt at night before bed (I know it's supposedly the worst time), and the afternoons that I get a chance to. My usual setup is in my room, in my bed, lights off, usually no blankets on me, a pillow or two under my head, a fan on for white noise. I close my eyes and begin focusing on only my breath, and the darkness of my closed eyelids. after 5-10 minutes of this, I feel I am calm enough to try and project or hopefully get close to it. This is where it gets confusing for me.

I start to feel less of an attachment to my body. Mainly in my hands and feet. It feels as though it would be harder to move; I.E if sleep paralysis is a 10, this is probably a 5-6. however, I've very rarely had this sensation throughout my entire body. At this point, I start to see some very interesting patterns of energy/light with my eye, maybe my third eye; I'm not entirely sure of the difference just yet. The crazy thing is, I almost ALWAYS see nearly the same thing! The color always begins as yellow, and I see a dot. Out of the corner of my vision, a yellow figure is pulled towards to this dot, sometimes head first, sometimes feet first and he slowly rotates around it while being sucked in and becomes one with the dot. Sometimes, it's two figures on opposite ends. Slowly, this becomes all I see and it keeps repeating and repeating until the point this figure looks less and less like a person. I give no attempts to maintain this image, I do my best to passively observe, but it just keeps happening. Anyway, when I FINALLY pass this stage, I start seeing some deep purples and greens but usually nothing coherent enough for me to associate an image with it.
At this point in time, I'm trying to exit. I get some vibrational activity, try to imagine moving my arms around as vividly as possible, and want so badly to leave it nearly breaks me when I can't. I have never felt the sensation of controlling my astral body, and I'm not even sure i've been consciously acquainted with it yet. By then, I feel like I've given it everything so I usually give up and sleep, or go back to my computer or whatever I was doing.

That's about all I can think of to explain. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Have you guys heard of the supposedly impending "unity consciousness" on this given date? I've read quite a bit on it but for some reason I still feel particularly confused by this one. Does anyone feel something will happen? If so, what do you think might happen?

Hello everyone! I've been trying so frequently and with great earnestness to project. I usually get in the hypnogogic stage, and experiences sensations of lightness and can "see" and feel very intense things that can't really be explained with words. Usually, it all builds up to this point, then it kind of stops. I lose focus, and drive, and the entire experience seems to stop. Afterwards, I feel a great amount of depression and meaninglessness. I like my life and everything, but I'm DYING to see the other side of things. I want to leave this body so badly, and it seems like I don't even HAVE an astral body sometimes. I just need some advice, guidance, and maybe a little encouragement as well. Does anyone else feel empty or meaningless when they fail to project?

So, today I tried to astral project (as always). This time, was different. Something clicked and I hit this very nice trance-like state. I had some thought and for some reason it was like 20 times "louder" than usual and echoed for a while, then I was in this state of mind. I started kinda looking around the darkness of my closed eyes and I eventually started seeing 2 maybe 3 figures moving around me. They were distinctly yellow and seemed very friendly. I definitely had a good feeling about them and I wanted to try and communicate but UNFORTUNATELY my dogs decided it would be a great time to have a barking fit which ended the mindset pretty quickly. Can anyone shed some light on this experience? It was amazing!

I've been reading a LOT on astral projection and attempting at least once a day. I've had pretty much no success but I'm not gonna let myself dwell on the negativity in that! My main problem seems to be staying "focused". My friend says he always meditates to clear his mind but I'm pretty sure Bruce says it's not necessary. Could someone point me in the right direction and if then, perhaps the best state of mind to press for? Also, how DO I keep focused? I always get so tired :[.

*on a side-note: when I get extremely close to the stage where I'm even minutely aware of my astral body, I see this black figure leaning over me and moving around me. Once it even seemed like it tried to get in my chest o.O I'm not afraid of it though. I usually try to to send it PUL or whatever and that seems to help me either mitigate his presence or have the ability to ignore him. I think this works because this is just increasing my awareness to a higher vibrational state? Idk.

Thanks to everyone for this great community! I usually find exactly what I'm looking for here :D

Hello everyone!
First off I just want to say this community seems so welcoming and I'm really happy i've found it :). I've only been studying projection for a few days and haven't had a successful projection but even in my attempts I've gained great insight and an awareness for my astral body which is AWESOME. Anyway, I'm a little curious about something i've read on random corners of the internet pertaining to AP. Some people, while talking about AP refer to this school? or perhaps a college or a place of learning somewhere in the astral realm. They talk about it like it's a place astral beings can go and take classes and learn and they talk about being there, running in to so and so, going on a walk with them or talking with them. It seems like they're referring to a place accessible to anyone. WHAT THE HELL IS THIS? Are these types of things possible? If so, I'm very very stoked. Anyway, I apologize for this incoherent ramble of a first post but I hope someone else knows wtf this is. Thanks so much for reading!
