Breath awareness is very effective, as my experience began while attending the local zen center back in the 90's. Certainly now, when I practice meditation or NEW, for example, I still incorporate breath awareness.

The NEW energy system does say you should balance it. However, that doesn't mean you can't practice seeing auras. It's my understanding that stimulating the brow area alone is acceptable in that it helps activate it, much as you activate your other chakras during NEW training. Stimulating your brow chakra more often than your others because you're doing it for auric sight isn't a bad idea. Unless you see some seriously heavy effects from it, I'd give the go-ahead.

Is trance the same as meditation if not what is the difference and what r the benefits of each

Hi Trunky,

You are most welcome to the forum and hope you learn to enjoy your visits here.
Just a quick think on your question. What springs to my mind is that trance is a word used for being in an altered state – not an everyday state of mind while you go about your normal business, and meditation is perhaps in one way a process used to reach a trance state. Although it can also be thought of as various types of trance states in itself.

I'll allow you to come to your own conclusions on this – and there are plenty of threads where this is discussed on the forum.

Again enjoy your visits and hopefully you will find some new like minded friends here!

Kind wishes,

Stephen
