I don't usually post a thread just for a new site, but this one is really worth it to check out.

I should be doing physics homework right now. That said...

    I've wondered and debated with myself for a long time about hypnosis and how it could be use to help one's spiritual development. Originally, the question that led to this topic was whether or not one could use hypnosis to help astrally project. Then, the question was extended to include many aspects of energy work, and even psychic phenomena. These are the conclusions I've come to based on logic and (what I consider to be) sound thinking.

    First off, it should be established that hypnosis CAN be used to help a person's energetic development. For that matter, it can be used to help a person with many problems through which they may be suffering, many of which can be quite detrimental to energetic development in their own right. However, it should be made quite clear exactly how hypnosis helps. Hypnosis helps by removing obstacles. It cannot change you per se, it cannot make you raise more energy or activate chakras any faster than you could normally. What it can do is take away limiting, self-imposed factors to your own development.

    Use hypnosis to help you focus your resolve or will power during energy-raising sessions. Use it to help quiet surface thoughts and place your concentration where it belongs. Use it to block out chatter, and to loosen your astral double, when that time comes.

    However, you will find hypnosis ineffective for strengthening will power, which can only come through practice and knowledge. You cannot use hypnosis to automatically project-on-command if your energy body is not significantly advanced and/or the condition of your physical body is not conducive to the effort, i.e. completely relaxed. Hypnosis can't be used to unmake objective limits on psychic phenomena. It can only help you remove the limits your subconscious contains.

    You must still practice dilligently if you long for psychic powers. You must raise all appropriate energy while still not overtaxing yourself. However, if you find your mind wanders often during energy raising, or that you can't really seem to find time during they day, despite having plenty of time to browse these message boards, perhaps hypnosis can help remove subconscious obstacles to your spiritual development. It seems counterproductive that our minds create these, but your subconscious doesn't have the advantage of reason that our conscious mind does. I don't know any psychology, but this is how the facts appear to me through experience

Mmmm. I've been browsing through Reiki websites, looking for some that are actually legitimate. I'm sure a lot of you have done the same.

I was first directed to www.sharereiki.org

This site seems pretty good, they do not offer Reiki attunements, however they do have a wealth of knowledge on the subject and a database of masters who are willing to give free remote attunements. I've tried to contact 2 of these masters (there are maybe 50, not including the message boards) and haven't heard back yet. Oh well.

Someone on a message board from THAT site directed someone else to www.reikisecrets.com

I tried to sign up for that, since I was directed from a legitimate site, but I haven't heard anything from them, and it seems pretty plausible that they're in it just to try to sell you their 50 dollar e-book reiki manual [!]

I also read on the ShareReiki message board about another site, http://www.xehupatl.com/

This website, too, seems quite legitimate. He emailed me back, was very polite, and performed an attunement for me at 10:00 this morning. I didn't feel much at all, at least, what I felt might have been psychosomatic, so I'm not going to give it the go-ahead yet, but... He does sell e-books on his website as well. Which is to say, he "recommends" them, and gives links. Each "recommendation" is a web page of the same style as all the others, and while browsing where I didn't belong (hee hee) I found a pdf document entitled, "How to get 10000 hits per day and raise your referrals even more!" [!]

Now, I don't know if he's just trying to make a bit of money, or something, the paypal donation would have been quite sufficient, I'm sure, but... It just seems like every site I try is in it for the money. I'd go to a real reiki master, i.e. an in-person one, but I'm a po' college student, and I've got no funds for something like that.

Does ANYONE know a reiki practicioner who does distance attunements for free? And is legitimate? Because after hours of searching, I can't seem to find any [B)]

Here is my understanding of this.

Qi-Vital Breath Energy, (physical) This energy is gained through the breath exercises done in "soft" Qigong or the physical/breath exercises done in "hard" qigong. These ways are not the only way of gaining Qi however, as regular exercise will gain Qi though not in quite the abundance as Qigong. "Qi" literally means "vital breath." This energy is stored in what is called the Dan Tien Located near and partially in the power chakra (note- these are not the same things, for one they are in slightly different locations and for two the energies of each is different.)

NEW energy: basically, this is etheric energy gained from spiritual practice. Normal sleep will gain you this energy though not in abundance as with NEW or Hermetics systems (Initiation Into Hermetics-Franz Bardon is a good and probably the best example of these practices. You can nab that book here: http://www.obza.net/Library/hermetics.pdf) Etheric energy exists in between or sometimes singly in the physical and Etheric planes (3d and 4d for some, or the earth sphere for others ways of looking at the planes of existince.) There are two kinds of etheric energy and two what might be considered sub-kinds of etheric energy. (Again, read the beggining of Franz Bardons excellent book. The section is easy to find as it has elements in the title.)

So no, they are not the same thing. Qi is physical energy, good for physical exercise and not magickal, while ether is very magickal in nature and while it can be usefull for physical endeavers it takes training to make use of such endeavers. (Franz bardons book again )

Now I have been going on about Franz Bardons book. Both systems are highly suggested (Qigong and NEW/Hermetics) And it is my belief that you should practice both. Here are some good Qigong books I and my friend picked up:
The Art of Qigong-Wong Kiew Kit
(anything by that author actually, though I do warn that he is heavily traditionalist which holds people back a lot and he has a bit of an ego, as do most "masters" as they are called)

Anything by Yang, Jwing-Ming.

Now I have mixed Qi and Ether together to get interesting results....

Thank you for your most interesting topic and post! [] This is something I will have to try. It does illustrate how thought creates reality. In this case a shield. Things take a bit more work here in the physical because of our dense vibrational level, but as you point out, it can still be done!

Ok this sounds a little strange but I have seen and heard worse.

Lets take this step by step.  Firstly are sure he saw his id or was it just another spirit in the astral. All travellers know that the astral is populated with an inumerable amount of spirits and entities.

Secoundly even if it was his id, negative spirit, entity or the like it cannot really take full possesion of him unless under certain extreme conditions. e.g using certain types of drugs


I suggest he cuts back or even stops astral travelling as he may further worsen his situation. Also he must understand that the more he believes that he is under attack or possesion is the worse his condition may get.


After some  psychic investigation I can say that this is not as bad as it appears the problem really is persisting or worsening because of his beliefs about the whole situation and not necessarily from a foreign spirit or entity trying to take possesion of him.

Best thing for him would be to try and focus his attention on other positive things taking place in his life and ignore these events. It is also good to remember that the body will naturally always defend itself against undesirable intruders.
