Welcome to Writers Corner! / My story
June 15, 2004, 14:07:59
Your writing style of many small fragments (i.e., "A young man riding on a horse. Forest. Trees as far as the eye can see. The gravel road meandered like a snake."), is more jarring to my reading experience than poetry like.  When it stops so much like that it tears me out of the immersion I have into the story and halts it while I move to the next sentence because... I dunno... it doesn't flow or something.

Someone else can probably explain it better than I.  Other than that it looks alright to me.

Welcome to Metaphysics! / Is it an aura or not?
March 26, 2004, 13:04:33
Gwathren,
Have you tried looking at a candle flame (at a safe distance[:)])?

The aura of a candle looks like any other aura.

Sometimes you may see it best for the first time with a dark background, then later you can see it in a lighter background. It can be just the opposite, so try with various backgrounds until you begin to see it. It doesn't require direct vision. Some say focus as if your looking through something, instead of directly at it.

Some people pick up auras of objects before learning to see a person's. Try animals, people, trees, etc.

With seeing the aura of people, be careful your not being self conscious of them looking at you. A crowded room where no one is paying attention to you is a good place to start sometimes.

Hope this helps, and hope I didn't repeat info you already know. [:)]

Welcome to Magic! / The best wizard ever?

I think the only way I can answer you from my perspective is which occultist I would most wish to hold conversation with. They are two, Dr.John Dee and Francis Barrett.

Welcome to Magic! / There is no such thing as magic

Magic doesnt require spells or physical ingredients. Magic comes from the power of the mind and the willing of the soul.

magic is just /one more/ method of changing the world around us [:)] .

whether it is the "highest" is a matter of opinion. but my opinion is that "no", there is at least one "higher" (or more potent, more effective, more ... etc) method of changing the world [:)] .
