sounds like either could have been an attack, but also that each could have been a random occurance that had negative effects on you. the time period between them makes it seem less likely that they were attacks, unless each was an isolated one-time attack.
if either were an attack, the question would be "why did the person/being attack you?" and we might never know the answer to that.
